They almost always deny me unless it's a manager that likes me. Most just want to move them out of the system in the morning and get all their other manager stuff done.

Well I tried. For three months now, the site has never once allowed a hold request for any single item. Surely I can't be the only one or the website has just been broken for ages now.

Anyone have any tips on how the heck to do a store pick up hold? I just tried on a PC, my iPad, and my iPhone. Every single time no matter what product I try, the name/phone/email I use, this always pops up:

"AN ERROR HAS OCCURRED Your order could not be completed.
Please try again later."

I get that if I try to do more than 3 holds a day in the app but then I just use the mobile site without issue.

So what would happen if I tried ordering it online? Would I get charged regular price or would it adjust?

I did it last night through GS app shortly after Darby posted, got emails to wait for all those stores.

Got the hold email. But the clerk couldn't sell it. He was pretty cool and helpful still, best way to leave positive feedback without a purchase?

I tried the following:

iPhone, iPad, iMac.

Different name, different phone number, different email. Different products.

The only constant at this point is the safari browser as I didn't try my windows laptop and firefox nor I.E.
 
I asked about the Prey guide because I didn't see them stacked up behind the counter at the closest store to my house. The GS store manager told me he had already "pennies them out and sent them back to the warehouse".

Do they now send these back or was that code for "I'm going to throw them in the trash when I leave tonight"?

My local prestige store completed my hold request and then discounted the guide .01 for discount not applied and didn't barge me for it at all.
 
Most of them throw them away. Some may send them back, I have no idea if they're being truthful about that though. I've had many more say they have to destroy them/toss them.

Just picked up my hold for a penny and got a blank $5 trade coupon. Thanks Darby!

There are no 'sendbacks', not that exist anymore. Stores throw them in the garbage/dumpster. Other stores have a manager specifically rip the front cover off soft guides and use a box cutter to slash up hard guides. And finally some other places have the guides held in the back for the DM to field destroy themself.

Nice touch btw, had me laughing!

I grabbed a Prey CE earlier today.

Any other CE guides drop? My closest store did not have any other penny guides except Prey.

 
None of the stores I went to even carry guides anymore. All the racks are gone to expand Switch stuff. RIP penny guides:( if anyone would like to sell their Prey guide send me a PM
 
Very rare do any stores display guides. It's all Pop's and stuffed animals. And people wonder why guides don't sell and penny out...

ppl just use the internet for guides. look at youtube for example. thats the best way to get help. shows u visually where to go and the exact location to get the items/collectibles. and the guides costs $40 for a CE. crazy.

I think a lot of people now buy guides as kind of a physical collectable compliment to the games (and not for actual strategies/help). That's what I kind of do now and that's why I prefer guides with a lot of artwork inside.

 
I just got the prey ce guide and played it off like I didn't know. The associate said she couldn't sell *pennied* guide she is supposed to throw them away. She gave it to me for free with a fallout 4 collectors edition guide. I knew that warehouse excuse was garbage. My nearest GS only had about four different guides for sale, they already "returned" the Prey guides. Half their stock is ME:Andromeda guides. Care to guess what they'll penny next?

Classic Walmart experience, inventory on brickseek says two, none to be found in video games, books, or clearence section. Employees. Don't have any idea what I'm talking about.

I do appreciate the heads up though. The price is right , probably buried in back
 
Great haul! Had a guy at gamestop refuse me the halo wars ce. Hope masseffect Andromeda ce drops soon. I see them everywhere in my area.

? I have one post in reddit and nothing against you or CAG. Is posting on other sites against the rules even if it has nothing to do with CAG? I know you have had issues with people here and there but I have none with you.
