From my own experiences, he uses and abuses the sites he is a member of. He cares about no one but himself. If there's a deal ANYWHERE, he is the person to buy 100x of whatever it is to resell for profit, and usually get the deal pulled or canceled.

He lives near me. A couple years ago, he bought five copies of a game on clearance at target closest to me. Bragged about it here then soon found out the trade value wasn't worth a 'flip'. When I called him on it for being a scumbag for buying out the stock, he PM'ed me and told me he would now purposely return them to a target far away from me so I can't get a copy for myself.

thanks might check out the nearest gamestop after my exam so if there on the shelf they might be pennied out??

Ouch. Sounds toxic. I always thought he was a cool guy cus he'd always post about various deals and contributed frequently. Didn't know there was this side to him. I'm glad I live in a place where there aren't that many flippers and people who abuse a deal..

 
If anyone is willing to trade or reasonably sell one of those watchdogs CE's please let me know.  All of the old staff at my local gamestop is gone (either moved on or went to best buy).  It has been a rotating cast of characters for the last 5 months or so.  Gives me no chance of getting guides because they don't know me from any of the other customers.  Thanks in advance.  I'm going to try because that's the cag spirit in me but I doubt I'll have any success.

Why would you feel bad? Based on the price you mentioned you got a good deal on a CE guide many months ago. You got use out of it.

Plus getting penny guides now is a one in a million chance unless you work at the store.

If I do an in store pickup for pennied stuff, can the gamestop employees see the price at all? Or is it a bad idea to even think about doing an in-store pickup?

I want to run out to gamestop and buy some stuff right now, but it might be a while before I can get to gamestop. I'm sitting here waiting for the UPS delivery person. I went a little crazy with the BB black friday elite plus preview. I'm getting 10 packages with a lot of stuff.

It was more exciting for me when BBY had not only the guides but also promo items from movie purchases for a penny too, I have never have much success getting guides at GS and only had a problem at BBY once in 10 years. TRU usually pulls them too fast before I can get to them.
