Nintendogs Kicks Off 'Dog Days' of Summer

Nintendo Will Unleash a Pack of 170 New Games This Fall and an Earth-Shaking
Accessory

REDMOND, Wash., Aug. 22 /PRNewswire/ -- Today's launch of Nintendogs(TM)
marks the end of the summer doldrums and the beginning of the "dog days" of
summer. The three versions of the cool puppy simulation, made exclusively for
Nintendo DS(TM), hit stores today and herald the beginning of a hit parade of
games for all three of Nintendo's video game systems through the end of the
year.

Game Boy(R) Micro ships to stores on Sept. 19 at an MSRP of just $99.99,
multiple Mario(TM) sports titles are on their way for Nintendo GameCube(TM)
and Nintendo DS now has a MSRP of $129.99, with an earth-shaking new Nintendo
DS Rumble Pak(TM) on its way for Metroid(R) Prime Pinball. But it's the
Nintendogs pups that will serve as the lead dogs.
"You can only let sleeping dogs lie for so long, and these Nintendogs are
ready to play," says George Harrison, Nintendo of America's senior vice
president of marketing and corporate communications. "Nintendo players will
be howling with delight all the way through the holidays with Nintendogs and
the depth and breadth of games available on all Nintendo systems."
Nintendo fans clearly will have plenty of titles to choose from. Between
now and the end of the year, players will play soccer, tennis and baseball
with Mario, explore a mystery in Trace Memory(TM) and fight battles in both
Battalion Wars(TM) and Advance Wars(R): Dual Strike. On Oct. 24, Metroid
Prime Pinball will come bundled with the new DS Rumble Pak accessory. The DS
Rumble Pak fits into the Game Boy(R) Advance slot of the DS and lets players
feel all the rolling, bumping and tilting that are the hallmarks of great
pinball games. In total, nearly 170 games are on their way for Nintendo
systems. Here's a list of games currently scheduled to launch for Nintendo
platforms through the holidays. Note that titles and dates are subject to

I don't see Odama on that list..........but at this point, I don't care if anything else gets delayed this season...there are so many awesome looking games coming out for the DS.

That rumble pak sounds interesting-- I wonder how it will simulate the feel of pinball.

it's about fuckin time they gave a release date for mario tennis gba...i've been waiting too damn long for that one...gunstar heroes is gonna be sweet too :)
Where's Lost in Blue? I will cry like a little girl if that's pushed back.
Hmm...good question. Konami makes it, right?

wtf? since when was this "DS rumble pack" announced? I hope nintedo does more of this use of the advance slot for DS games... I like this idea alot already.

This is the first I've seen of the Rumble pak too Rolento.

Speaking of stuff like that, where's the DS version of Boktai?

Regarding the delay of Hunters: YES! fuck YEAH!!! Delayed until 2006 you say? Would that be to...perhaps...include internet play? If so (I suspect it is), then I say BRING ON THE DELAY!

This was unofficially reported at E3 when all of the floor units for Metroid Pinball had them installed. Sounds really cool to me, I was a big fan of Galactic Pinball for the VB, and Metroid Pinball looks to be just as good.

I wonder where the Mario platformer is.

I can't wait for Mario Kart. I may also pick up Animal Crossing, Castlevania, and Mario & Luigi at/near their release dates.

Where is Truama Center: Under the Knife...?

Probably one of my most anticiapted DS releases after Nintendogs. (Nevermind... saw it in October, too much licensed crap and it got buried).

And Mario Tennis for gba in December? Cmon Nintendo, release that shit already. Good to see that Megaman Zero 4 finally has a date for the US, it seems like forever since it's been released in Japan.

There is an edited list... I took out all the licensed garbage that was probably going to be crap anyways, so people can easily see the good games.

Bolded some of the more surprising releases for gba... the system isn't dead yet :D

"October: Trauma Center: Under the Knife from Atlus"

"Nov. 28: Mario & Luigi: Partners in Time from Nintendo" is the sequel to Superstar Saga, was there another planned?

And yes, Konami is doing Lost in Blue.

Everyone with a gba or a DS will have to buy Gunstar super Heroes just because it is written in the gamers bible :bow::bow:

Dr. Mario / Puzzle League is listed on IGN as coming out NOVEMBER 5th, not December llike this list. Hmm.

I'm sad Animal Crossing is December, I was hoping for November.

At first I thought Metroid Pinball seemed lame, but I've been becoming more and more interested in it. The rumble pack seems cool. If it gets good reviews, I'll probably buy it.
I hope Castlevania won't get the shaft like Zelda did. I would really like this for Christmas.
It's already been reviewed by Famitsu, so it's probably completed.
Dr. Mario / Puzzle League is listed on IGN as coming out NOVEMBER 5th, not December llike this list. Hmm.

This is FROM Nintendo, I would trust this over IGN.
A lot of cool games I want to get...

But how come there is no info on the next Zelda game?
Why would there be? This is Nintendo's release list from now until the end of their fiscal year, or at least what's been finalized of that list, and Zelda won't be released until the start of their next fiscal year (April or so)
I wonder where the Mario platformer is.
Hopefully pushed back to at least Q2 2006.

1. Look at the list. It seems overloaded to begin with. Why would Nintendo put out Mario Bros. DS to compete with Mario Kart, Viewtiful Joe, Animal Crossing, Castlevania, Sonic, Metroid, Nintendogs, Megaman Battle Network, and Mario and Luigi (Not to mention other big franchises on the GBA and niche titles on the DS)?

2. The game needs work. Sure, the graphics are nice and the action looks hectic, but the series has a reputation to mantain with unlimited hopes from consumers. That means it's going to need at least as many levels as Mario World and graphical effects flying up your ass as you play. So far we've only seen a few different environments in the game, and even in those, the backgrounds need some more activity. Nintendo is far from finished with the game.
