It was called Pepsi Jazz, never heard of it.

Ah yeah I knew it. That stuff was gross. Same story with the Pepsi Lemon. Tasted like Lemon Pledge. Pepsi Lime wasn't bad though.
Yeah I remember seeing that at Target a few X-Mas back...never tried it because it was only available in diet :puke:
Speaking of Pepsi and Christmas, I wonder if Holiday Spice is gonna be around this year again.

So I went to a doctor back in July for my gallstones. Despite all of the bullshit, I paid them on my flex card. It processed and all was well until I got a bill, saying I hadn't paid. I waited a few months to see if it would work itself out in the billing process and it didn't so I called this morning. After spending over 3 hours on the phone between the flex card servicer, my insurance company, my parent corporation who funds the flex account and the doctors office, I provided my copy of the credit card receipt and the doctor's office is saying that's not sufficient evidence that I paid the bill. The insurance company and credit card company say that it is. The doctor's office still planned to send me to collections despite this. After arguing for over 45 minutes with the billing department, they decided to "write it off". In healthcare, unpaid bills are tax write-offs for the doctor. So not only did they falsely bill my insurance company, they plan to commit tax fraud since they, in reality, know I paid the bill since I have proof, refuse to call their credit card merchant to confirm the authorization and transaction numbers.

Flex accounts are a huge ass hassle and not even worth fucking with in my opinion. As far as I'm concerned, it's just a scam of business to make money off their employees. If you don't use it, you lose it, and they get it.

I love FSA, been using it for the past couple years. I ran short this year, I underestimated my expenses by 2 months which is pretty damn good IMO.

I always use mine and try to underestimate my expenses by a month or so, just to be sure. My company is matching 100% of your contribution this year. Also, since it's pre-tax and I contribute the max, it bumps me to a lower tax bracket meaning larger refund.

The problem isn't the flex account, it would've been the same headache no matter what credit/debit card I had used to pay for it. I paid the doctor, I had a receipt, the doctor can't find the record of me paying and are saying my copy of the receipt isn't proof I paid.

I made Frosty home made pasta and sauce for dinner tonight. It was my first attempt at making pasta. I'm surprised it took me this long to attempt it.

I'm bored and sitting here on the computer so I decided to look at google maps of the Las Vegas area of Nevada ..

Fallout stuff -->
There's a real Primm and a real Nipton and they're both in the relatively same area of the map as the game. And also, there's a solar power station called Nevada Solar One in the same place that Helios One is located. And it just dawned on me the other day that I have been in the McCarren airport. :whee:

Heard this band on the radio today for the first time called Devils Brigade which is apparently a side project of Rancid's Matt Freeman. Just got done listening to their debut album released in August, and while not a great album by any means, it is a fun listen.
What's the big deal about this Catherine game Destructoid and Joystiq keep getting giddy over?
Not sure other than the fact it's the same people that did the Persona series.

fucking knee is starting to really hurt now that the pain meds are wearing off. So glad that I am going to 100 percent recover and that I only needed a lateral release instead of microfracture surgery.

Morning, OTT.

Half day, as I have to be home for the kids when they get off the school bus, while Mrs. Number83 goes on a 2nd interview. Think I'll either play Fable 3, Fallout, or Modern Warfare...yes, the first one.

Wish her luck!
___

Hmm...I see by my Gamecard, that Number84 has been hacking into my XBL again...

I had to do three hours of auditing and taxes last night for my civic association. I barely got a chance to play any CoD.

That is a beastly sandwich!

I actually rented the last copy of Black Ops yesterday, so I will actually play it soon!

Meh, you aren't missing anything special in the campaign.

Bankers hours!

My bankers hours day is tomorrow.

You could pay $170/ week to put them in prep school.
Is your wife interviewing to be a doctor?

I did get to play Robert McNamara and kill zombies so that was good. I do agree that the game lacks some graphical polish. The combat seems better balanced though. And I like the unlock system.

If you weren't playing as tricky dick, you were doing it wrong...

Didn't get to play anything last night. Getting up before 7 and then having to work until 23:30 just wipes me out. Hopefully it will be slow enough tonight that they'll send people home early again.

Yeh, not so much- nor the maps. Unlock it AND buy it .
I also don't like that the "cards" and monikers/ placards (w/e) don't mean anything now . . . they're just bought. While I liked that (buying stuff/upgrades) as real time motivation and reward in CS it's annoying in BO.

Maps are terrible- I played Nuketown 5 times in a row, seriously. I like it if it comes up in the rotation because it's fast, but it's ugly as hell.

What the hell is up with the spawn points? I spawn in-front of multiple enemies (usually two at a time) several times most maps.

The multiplayer is certainly more mediocre than MW2.

Althought I enjoyed playing Black Ops last night, it just doesn't feel as good as MW2, but I guess I shouldn't really compare it, all they used is the same engine and then tweaked it to make it their own. Also, I miss the special sound whenever you ranked up during matches. :whistle2:(

BO uses the WaW engine.

I personally like it in it's own way. I don't have to grind away at perks/weapons I don't want to use, but rather buy what I only want to use. I prefer some modes in MW2 over black ops, like CTF. but overall, Black Ops is pretty balanced and good in it's own way.

Wasn't the WaW engine basically the CoD4:MW engine?

Yup.

Also I think MW2 was on the CoD4:MW engine too...so yeah.

The graphics do look a lot cleaner IMO. But some textures like on flags look really choppy.

I haven't player SP yet, but the graphics in MP are a step down from MW2, but a step up from WaW. The graphics look clean, but not as crisp as as MW2.

So I finally got around to RB3. Played like 5 songs. Looks really good, gotta get used to the new presentation and stuff though.

Keyboard seemed fun, but regular keyboard didn't work like I had expected. I thought you could hit any one of a set of keys, not 5 specific keys. I mean, I guess you can, but the colors are out of order so it's confusing as fuck.

Switch it to Pro-Keys.

But I can't do pro keys ;-;

Like I thought with regular keys, there would be chunks of keys that corresponded to GRYBO, left to right. But in actuality there are 5 individual keys that are GRYBO left to right, and then there are also chunks, but they're out of order, so it doesn't lend itself well. I dunno.

Maybe I've just been away from MW2 for too long that made me think that the graphics looked cleaner. Must be the Halo effect.

When you're playing regular keys, only those 5 buttons with the little color dots above them work AFAIK. The "out of order" color strip at the top corresponds to the Pro Keys mapping only.

This is true . . . but if you buy something and it doesn't work as well/similarly to MW2 it is infuriating.

I just started playing with all five fingers. I used to move my pinky to hit orange and 100% many songs on easy. I haven't moved to medium yet, but they have a lot of times where you have to hit 2 keys at once.

I don't think Llama is that bad. I think the elton john song is constant and much harder.

Gotta love the thread for the new contest ..
