So, I just bought my friend's old DS Phatty for a mere $40 (his asking price, I couldn't resist!) so that I can have a spare for multiplayer. It's in excellent shape, but has a (IMHO) revolting Nintendogs skin on it, much like this one:

http://www.amazon.com/Nintendo-DS-Nintendogs-Style-Skin/dp/B000AXMK5K/ref=pd_bbs_sr_3/002-8602811-2058413?ie=UTF8&s=videogames&qid=1177529491&sr=8-3

I tried peeling some of it off and it leaves a residue wherever it was in contact w/ the DS. Will something like Goo-Gone remove it with little to no hassle? It covers most of the inside of the DS and the top shell when it's closed, so if it's a bitch to get off then I don't feel like cleaning that much of the surface area.

Anyone else have to remove these annoying things? Is it worth my trouble or will it just make it worse?

Using Goo Gone can possibly remove the paint off the DS. I suggest getting a hair dryer and heating up the sticker. Not too hot where it will damage it. Enough to heat up the sticky residue to lift the skin off.

Thanks for the warning, Bandit. I might just leave it on there, then, if the alternative is destroying the paint job.

I still don't understand why there's a market for those kinds of things in the 1st place.

Use the hair dryer method.

Man, I would have just left it on there for a couple reasons. First it has to shame and humiliate whoever uses it that they don't have they're own DS at all. Second since it's for multiplayer it's got to distract them and maybe give you edge you need at the crucial moment. ;)
