So, I just bought my friend's old DS Phatty for a mere $40 (his asking price, I couldn't resist!) so that I can have a spare for multiplayer. It's in excellent shape, but has a (IMHO) revolting Nintendogs skin on it, much like this one:

I tried peeling some of it off and it leaves a residue wherever it was in contact w/ the DS. Will something like Goo-Gone remove it with little to no hassle? It covers most of the inside of the DS and the top shell when it's closed, so if it's a bitch to get off then I don't feel like cleaning that much of the surface area.
Anyone else have to remove these annoying things? Is it worth my trouble or will it just make it worse?
