Republicans successfuly stop military health care from changing due to inflation

Something tells me there is more to this bill than meets the eye. Maybe some contoversial rider on it, because I've never seen McCain vote against healthcare for the troops or their families.

Edit: Or Inouye either, as they are both vets and damn good senators.

looks like it was an amendment to the Defense appropriations bills.. by my research no other amendment raised a similar point.

It might be covered in another bill.

I'm just waiting for that 1 special douche of the forums who actually supports the bush administration to chime in here, thats always amusing

What does this have to do with the Bush Administration? What particular support are you talking about here? And how am I a special douche?

Oh I acknowedge this isn't a bushism, but that doesn't exclude the fact that you douches seem to have your own very special party outside of the republican influence, that makes you special.

You still haven't explained what support you're talking about. And why someone would go to a douche-party in the first place. That sounds remarkably uncomfortable. I wouldn't call it special.

Ooohhh... Is that a Bossism? Now I understand.

Lets put it this way, bush supporters = ignorant, ignorant, IGNORANT!!!!

...but not to derail the topic any further, I think the military is feeling the heat from this, among other things. We all know recruitees are at an all time low, if not from recruiters plainly underhanded methods of lureing prospective youngins into the front lines, from shit like this!!

I could tell you some whacky recruiter stories, but i'll leave that for another topic perhaps.

Quoted for new bossism.

The only use for people like this is their vote. Otherwise we should keep a muzzle on them.

Hah, your leaders wish they could put a muzzle on the truth.

I can see you've taken your ignorance to the next level & pre-assesed what kind of person I am from text, a common blunder from weak minded individuals who think they can easily sway an argument like they sway their freshly anal cavity proded finger to catch a whiff. Spare your keyboard, of both your mind & your feces.

heh, who am I kidding, they're both interchangeable.

how classy
and your attempt at degradation was any better?
I know this may be hard to comprehend but Bush isn't hitler, denouncing all the presidents supporters as idiots was the issue.

Honestly, I see supporting Bush as a character flaw

I wouldn't even compare Bush to Hitler, frankly, Hitler was an inspired person, and he actually had strong beliefs that encouraged his regime to thrive, Bush thrives on greed. If you read ol' adolfs book you'll not only note he is one genious mind, insane but still an extremely intelligent man, articulate in his thoughts and beliefs. Hitler conquered ALL of europe, & was damn near close to keeping it that way for a long time as well. Bushs war won't make it past his term, and by then he'll be even more rich and probably as plump as lil miss piggy karl rove. Haha I can't wait for bush's book, I'm sure it'll rank up there with such heavy-weight political rantings such as "everybody poops".

Bush is a puppet, Hitler was a leader, I honestly don't ANY the connection between the two at all, besides the common rhetoric crys of "EVIL", Hitler is THE easiest most profound person to turn to when you want to classify a leader as "EVIL", Bush even compared saddam to hitler...

Thank you 'zo, we succeeded in bringing out the ugly in boss. The fact of the matter is, I'm not even really a "Bush supporter" I don't agree with most of his policies. I'm sick of people thinking that everyone falls into one of two camps.

In fact, that's probably my biggest issue with Bush, the "with us or against us" mentality. With that attitude, everyone ends up against you eventually.

Wow, you sure did achieve alot, problem for you is that I'm not ashamed to speak my mind in public & in private, I'm just glad you're all hot and bothered by it enough to tip tap over any kind of intillectual argument and call my views "ugly".

You're so lame as to actually think you manipulated anything out of me, please, you insinuated that you were a Bush supporter, so basically you'll lie about your petty views in order to sway an opinion out of someone, how brilliant you are, you're just a hypocrite.

As a now serving military member this kind of shit pisses me off to no ends. I have seen some foul treatment of veterans by this administration and the Clinton administration that really makes me want to make sure I'm not depending solely on a military pension/health plan. There are a lot of veterans out there who have been out right lied to and I think it's a damn shame

You belong on the receiving end of an abortion.

The thing is, this bill won't affect any health pensions in a remarkably significant way (monetarily, anyway, unless we experience a nostalgia of Jimmy Carter-era inflation), financially speaking.

It is, however, a significant show of disrespect to those people who are willing to serve in the military for any period of time, rather than get on with their civilian lives. When we can appropriate money the way the government does to so many superfluous expenditures, this just seems very peculiar. Maybe I'll go back and look at the bill; it may be possible that a Democratic senator proposed it, which led to such a political, rather than practical, reaction. I wouldn't dare suggest that such a reaction is solely the domain of Republicans, but there appears to be no other logical explanation for killing legislation such as this.

Metal Boss, you're free to speak your mind all you want. The point is, you came into this thread goading right-wingers; that's fine, we all do that. However, Quillion (to his discredit) took on the bait you cast (sort of? He never said anything overtly expressing support in this thread), and you decided to flame him (and if you reread what the two of you had to say, every goddamned bit lacks any substance).

From there, you decided to try to go the "Bush vs. Hitler" route. I don't care if you think that is an appropriate comparison; in my eyes, you're a troll. Why not pick someone more contemporary than Hitler? The Ayatollah Khomeni? Idi Amin? Pol pot? Robert Mugabe? Bob Dole? (Big laffs!) Really, bringing up Hitler just emphasizes what little substance you have. In the end, you're being a shit for the sake of being a shit, and the unsubstantive conversation about Bush in this thread just reinforces that.

Maybe if you read the thread yourself you'd note he is the one who sparked up the convo regarding hitler & bush, he insinuated that was my opinion, you fuckwit. You're quickness to judge without reading a shred of thread proves you're just a whiney little parasite, & your arguments are the equivalent of biting at my ankles. READ > COMPREHEND > POST

Please, either keep me on ignore or keep nullified arguments to yourself, idiot....

I'm sick of the "with us or against us" attitudes as well. You wouldn't believe how many times people have attempted to jump on me on this board for daring to say that I agree with a certain Bush policy. It's like if you agree with anything the "other side" has to say you're the antichrist.

Bravo, Quillion, for not determining your positions based on who is advocating them but rather the substance of the issue.

I am not a one party thinker, but I am definatly prone to being tempermental when I feel like I am being ganged up on, especially when its all pre-judged charicter assessments, thats bullshit.

I think some of you guys probably got the wrong idea, I was critisizing the comparison of Bush to Hitler, as SOOOO many people seem to do without a second thought, and it seems, without a second thought that you judged the way I thought about it.
