According to Speedy over at DVDtalk, this starts next week (8/13) and the deal goes like this:

Reserve your copy of Saints Row for XBOX 360 and receive a Free Faceplate // Game available 8/29/06 // Faceplate available at time of game pickup

Now, I never knew CC even did preorders, but I think I'm going to bite on this because faceplates tend to be worth something down the line.

Saint's Row is a lot like GTA, but since they are next gen the graphics are a lot more detailed. There's a demo up on live.

also, how much to reserve.
I don't know, Speedy didn't note it, he usually types the ads word for word so that's how it's going to be in the ad.

Hell, I didn't even know CC did preorders.

Don't forget online multiplayer.

CC actually has done reserves for a little while now. I've got Madden reserved there and it was $10 so I'm guessing it's the same for all games.

I already pre-ordered this like two weeks ago at the CC and it said right on the ticket that you take to the counter that there is a free Saints Row faceplate. So I don't think you have to wait until 8/13.
You can also "drive dirty" and smoke weed. Next Gen, indeed.
Where did you read that you can smoke weed?
Where did you read that you can smoke weed?
You can, it slows things down just a bit, but doesn't really do much else.
I already got the demo disc but I might have to pre-order again just to get the faceplate. Do you think CC will care if 2 seconds after I pick up saints row I return it and keep the FP?
what happens is they will charge you $49.99 for Saints Row and then charge you $9.99 for the face plate thats how Circuit City does promotions they cant just give stuff for free they still ring it up, so unless you dont mind playing $9.99 for the face plate then sure go return it, but some times they also charge $.01 for some promotions so you just have to see

It's a pretty nice faceplate but I don't think it's good enough for me to pay the extra $15 (including tax) it would cost me at CC v. Outpost. Maybe I'd do what M1C13 said.

what's with all the vertically-oriented faceplates? do you all have your system in the vert position? my PS2 and 360 are both horizontal... i'm not a fan of turning it on it's side.

Interesting, maybe Neocisco or Demolition Man will stop in and give us the details. I assume you preorder it and get the faceplate when it comes in. Which could mean a huge YMMV, because those types of bonus's just seem to disapper. Back in the day when I worked at TRU the employees would just take all the freebies...

I used to but I can't put it vertical in my TV stand and even if I could I'd have to buy the stupid stand for my slim PS2 which ain't happening.

lets hope its the penny.

BTW I have my 360 vertical, I just think it looks nicer. I do know that the Halo 3 faceplate that is supposed to come out this fall is horizonal.

i saw that (Halo fp). i was pleased to see it that way, though i suppose they're going to upset someone no matter how they configure it. i'll eventually replace my entire case with one of those all-black jobs, but 50 bucks is a lot of cash to part with, just to ditch the garish white blob in my entertainment center.

Well I just played the demo finally today and I found the game fun, although it is a major ripoff of GTA. I kinda want to get another game for my XBOX360 and I think I might just get this one. I love how you can actually aim in this game, although I hope that some of the graphic tearing (it was really noticable during the cut scenes where the screen was refreshing at different rates causing the screen to have all kinds of seams) is NOT going to be present in the full release, cause in the demo that was really anoying me.

Anyways I'm not really sure which one I want to do more, get a deal on the game or get a nifty faceplate (since the standard one is a tad boring). At the moment I'm leaning more towards getting the faceplate and game combo since I really haven't seen many deals for this game that would convince me to get it somewhere else without the faceplate. Guess I'll probably be heading over to CC to pre-order one soon.

the faceplate is enticing but i'm pretty fry's will have the game for around 49.99. is it possible to pre-order the game and also PM at CC?

I am wondering this as well?

If CC will still do a PM even though I pre-ordered I would do it in a heartbeat.

The faceplate is not the best but I think it's ok. I'm sure you can buy it at CC and PM it if there is advertised sale price.

It's advertised but not on sale and i dont think you can PM because not all stores dont have the faceplates

Is it like this one from overseas?:

Is cc the only store getting this? I would prefer to get it at Best buy. It has been awhile since they gave a faceplate away with a game, good to see that promotion will still be used

Why? CCs around me are so much better for PMs and returns.

I'm not sure what you meant or thought I meant, but I was trying to say that if I buy it for full price at CC and find an advertised sale price, at like Fry's, I can PM it wiith no problem while also getting the faceplate.

I went to my CC and reserved my copy today.

Apparently not many of the CC employees know they take game pre-orders either. I took the card for Saint's Row Pre-Order which was hanging near the games section read how it worked then took it to the cash register.

On the back it says that it is only a $10 deposit, then the employee rings it up and tells me my total is $65.27 and I was like oh I think it says it is a $10 deposit but I guess I can pay everything up front. This was after I think she thought I was actually trying to purchase a game they had in stock as she had a semi-puzzeled look on her face. Then she totaled it up and she was like oh you actually do only have to pay $10, so I ended up signing everything. Then at the end she was like I don't know if your supposed to hang onto this pre-order tag, and I told her I didn't know either since I hadn't pre-ordered at CC before. She asked two other employees who were behind the customer service desk with her and they didn't know either and so one of them ended up just telling her to let me have it. In the end it worked out well though, especially because I found out that I have 2 weeks to pick up the pre-order which is good because I can't pick it up right on 8/29 (or thereabouts) since I will be out of town and apparently CC pre-orders must be picked up where they were orignally purchased.

Also on the Saint's Row Pre-Order tag it shows a picture of the faceplate and it is not the same one as people have posted in this thread. The one being offered is a horizontal one with Saint's Row in big font slightly tilted leading towards the power hole and then a group shot of some of the characters on the right side of the faceplate set against the orange colored background from the game cover. Personally I like it more than the other one that was posted. Unfortuantly though I don't have a scanner so I can't post a picture of the Saint's Row faceplate that is on the pre-order tag. Hopefully my description is at least good enough to give you an idea of what it looks like. And if you find the tag at CC you can see what it acctually looks like.

I work at Circuit City and I can tell you all you need is receipt, when it comes out just go pick it up, man I hate it when people dont know what they are doing

You know what's stupid is that the reserve sku# isn't active until tomorrow. The reason the employees can't scan the upc on the card is because they can't make a reserve for the game yet, the promo code is in the system but it won't let them do it. At least not here in my area. One CC had the cards but they couldn't do it and I kept the card. I went to another CC where the employees seem more knowledgeable and make the effort to help, and the guy finally came up on a promotion list that stated the free faceplate promo started 8/20. So if you got a reserve on it I would go back sometime next week and double check it.

Just do what I'm going to do, preorder and pick up the CC one to play, then return the sealed Outpost one whenever they decide they feel like sending it to you.

Best of both worlds, cheap price and release day availability.

I don't want to pay full $ for this game, but I'm guessing that faceplate will go for a pretty penny in a couple of months, so I'm going to be the guy who abuses the return policy by returning the game. Hopefully it is the .01 charge and not the $10.

The brilliant salespeople at my CC let some customer leave with the store's pre-order card. So they had nothing to scan when I asked for the pre-order. They tried to enter it automatically but said the promo was locked. Hopefully it will be unlocked tomorrow. Dumbasses is all I can say...

I don't understand how these people don't know what they are doing, I work at Circuit City and I know my stuff. If they are using a DPS system just as my store then be a smartass and tell him to go into screen #299 and he could reserve it from there. DPS system are the older computers in white, some have the new system called magellan and its in black, but i believe screen #299 will work in either one just tell him what to do.

Actually for some reason corp. sent us materials and a memo to take down Saints Row preorder cards and replace them (along with madden) for 2 other games. Of couse corp. is full of total idiots, so at our store we keep the Saints Row and Madden cards at the counter now. However it's very possible that as of the 16th, when we got those materials/memo, the promo was closed for some reason.

At any rate, don't cry over it, the faceplate will also be a free giveaway when you just buy the game in store (til supplies last obviously) on release day like 90% of the pre-order freebies so far.

Can I pre-order saint's row with you? I'll kick in $10 for shipping/your hassle =p. The CC by me (TWO OF THEM) sold out of the stupid cards, so wouldn't pre-order it for me.

I went to CC on 8/13 and they had no idea what I was talking about. So they said they are gonan save a faceplate for me and they took down all my info and stuff.

Hopefully they come through with it

looks like i'll be stopping by CC tomorrow on the way home from work. hopefully they still have some pre-orders left (and hopefully the faceplate is worth it.)

or should i get it at outpost for $50?

the circuit city i work at already has the face plates to purchase they are being sold at $9.99 a piece, so when you do buy the game you will be charged $9.99 for the faceplated then $50 for the game
