Resident Evil 5 Collector's Edition $89.99! Contents Finally Revealed!

I love the game, but i think i'm gonna hold off on LE, CE etc... Not enough shelf spaces and getting bored with pity extras like music CD or behind the scenes stuffs. Me just buy what i like from now on. Happy meal figures are meh meh, i rather spend extra to get a premium collectibles. Tin boxes are cool, but hell, i'm pretty sure there's a tiny market selling empty disc tin cases, where you can insert your own arts or something.

Collector's Editions are way too large and expensive nowadays.

maybe it comes with a cure for the T- Virus or whatever letter the virus will have in this one. and im sure theres nude codes for the ladies......or rather lady characters. in the end ill buy one once the price drops to 20 just like all the other ce of games do.

Expensive yes but large no. If they were large I doubt many of us would mind paying the price

Games need to have a truly "Limited" edition rather than a "Collector's" edition that you can still find in stores months after the initial release.

What's the point in collecting something like that? Especially when those leftover units end up going on clearance..

FFXII was the best example of this. I was so pissed off buying its Special edition just to find that its only real extra was the case and DVD and now you can find the damn thing for liek $12.
from what i was told the collectors edition is supposed to have RE 1,2,3,4, along with 5.
From what i was told, your source is wrong. There is no way Capcom would port the game to 360 and only get $30 more for it. They would rather re-release 1 game for $30 though.
I wonder what it includes...

*hint hint*

;)
Goddamn! Is there anything you don't know?!

I don't suppose you know if they'll be announcing the contents anytime soon?
What Jill is dead? How?
The TGS trailer that was shown at the Capcom booth shows her grave. :(

I'm curious how this all plays out with Wesker. I can't imagine they are going to allow you to kill him off unless they are going to continually have a new face of Umbrella for every other game (which would be kind of lame, I like this franchise too much to see it's story become useless like that of a fighting game).
The TGS trailer that was shown at the Capcom booth shows her grave. :(
I've seen the trailer, but I refuse to believe it. There's no way Capcom will kill off one of it's most marketable and recognizable characters in one of their most famous franchises. Capcom characters rarely die. Besides, they showed a snippet in an earlier trailer of a female's eyes in a laboratory tank... eyes that look strangely reminiscient of Jill.

Or maybe that's just really wishful thinking.

The girl in the tank, is the same blond girl in the tank we've seen before. The one that many people speculate to be Sherry.

Bah. Stop crushing my dreams. I could've sworn her hair looked different.

In any event, if they had really killed off Jill, they wouldn't've put it at the end of the trailer. It has to be a teaser to keep people guessing and gather some media buzz. Jill might be "dead" but brought back by the virus or something.

That hasn't stop Capcom from altering the appearance of an established character in Resident Evil before.

I'm kind of curious if they are trying to link the movies with the games as far as this "tank girl" goes. Seriously, I'm not saying it's a good thing, or that I want it to happen (since those movies are garbage), but I'm wondering if the girl in the tank is Alice.

I hope to God not. There were instances where Resident Evil 4 poked fun at the movies (the laser trap hallway and Leon's easy escape), but no real connection otherwise. I genuinely hope it stays that way.

I just read a few things online alluding to the bird masked, cloak wearing figure to be Jill. In a brief moment where the figure is walking, you can see heels, indicating a woman. Hmm... Well, whatever they do, it won't shake my faith in Capcom... probably.

I was thinking about that after my last post. If they are going to give you an image of her tombstone at the end of a trailer, then obviously they want to tease with you how they are tying this in, and making her a villain seems like the obvious move. Whether she is alive or reanimated looks like the bigger question.

Well, looks like it's Sherry Birkin that's in the tank. Unless she is the "bird lady." I never heard about her imprisonment. I haven't played Code Veronica, so I don't if it's brought up in there, but that definitely makes the who tank scenario more understandable.
Probably not soon (this month or next), they(Capcom) is still finalizing the contents. ;)
Based on the current contents do you think it's going to be worth $90?

In addition to the usual goodies that Capcom graces us with (Steelbook and bonus DVD) I'm thinking that there will either be a figure (I hope not) or a chainsaw controller. Some were speculating that there may be a S.T.A.R.S. badge or something, but since S.T.A.R.S. doesn't seem to be that prominent of an entity in RE5, I don't know if that makes much sense.

Maybe they'll package some Wesker shades. :)

If they had a badge, maybe it'd be BSAA or whatever they are. Wesker glasses would be cool. I'm always losing/breaking whatever pair or sunglasses I own, so it'd be useful.

I really just don't want a T-shirt. I would never wear a Video Game T-shirt unless it was clever or funny. It's just personal taste here. A figure would be alright, but I don't really have much room to showcase it or anything. Ideally, it'd be something original and something in the game. Capcom will likely throw in an Art Cell/Art Book for whatever that's worth. I'm not sure what the bonus is that makes it $90.

I'm betting the whole package will be something that fans will like. The Premium Edition of RE4 came with the standard Steelbook, DVD, and Art Cell, and that was only $10 more. I believe that RE5 is the most Capcom has charged for a Special Edition in the states. It's $10 more than the Street Fighter IV Collector's Edition and Devil May Cry 4 Collector's Edition, even.

Maybe the CE will come with Resident Evil: Degeneration. It's not so far fetched considering that DMC4 came with the first volume of the anime (MSRP of $30) and by that time Degeneration will have been out for a month and a half. Honestly, I'd rather have something original to the game or even in game content.

Degeneration wouldnt be bad and is possible. They could also do something like a fake medical spray and green herbs. The chainsaw controller idea is hella cool, I got the RE4 one already so as long as it wasnt the exact same I would be happy with that.

I'm going to be upset if Amazon doesn't get a pre-order bonus and other vendors do, though. I have it pre-order on Amazon with a price mistake + Gold Box deal and I don't want to go somewhere else just because they're getting an Artbook bonus or something. Make the bonuses universal, PLEASE.

Although I know that Gamestop will likely get an exclusive... and while I don't mind shopping at Gamestop, I know I sure as hell won't be getting a discount. I'll be paying almost $20 more if I include tax.
It'll include an vile of the T-Virus.
and you will spread that t virus

i hear there will be a mini map included in the ce versiosn of the game and when you use it you will find in a locker........michael jacksons thriller jacket!!!!!!!!! you put it on and when surrounded by zombies ( or infected) you do the right button sequence and they all break out into the thriller dance!!!!!!!!!!!! but this bonus will only be included in ce disks .

aide from adding in the classic games they should add in extra in game content to make the CE worth buying. maybe add in some kind of online multiplayer disk or extra bonus weapons ( like a chainsaw or katana or other cool weapon).

I hope the CE will include something like this

-Full soundtrack
-Art book
-Wesker Report #2 DVD/Blu-Ray
-Chris and Sheva action figure or that T-virus vile usb thumb drive.

Based on the SF4 collectors edition I think Capcom is going to screw us over and make both Chris and Sheva figures, but put one of them in the PS3 CE and one of them in the 360 CE.

I would rather "get screwed" on having 2 CE with 2 seperate figures then really get screwed and have the CE be like GoW, DMC, ToV and a lot of other CE where there is no figure just a metal tin.

Er, I'm not really excited for RE5 anymore. After playing L4D I'm spoiled by good death animations... the death animations for the enemies in RE5 are so terrible. Could they not throw on some euphoria? And also the melee just looks so terrible (not the context sensitive stuff, the knife stuff)... come on!

Death animations won't make or break this title. I personally hate Havok death physics. I think they look awkward and unnatural. Someone doesn't become completely weightless and fall in awkward positions when collapsing. It just looks dumb.

And as for the figurine thing? I'd absolutely hate it if they put a separate figure in each version of the game. I'd rather have no figure at all. Yes, I'm going there.
the sad thing is the price is higher then GOW 2 LE by 20 dollars more
But the GOOD thing is, it's not GOW! It's RE! ;)

I really hope the contents are revealed soon.
Will more than likely get it regardless, but I want to know what's in it and what if there's any promos for buying it at one place opposed to the other.

Like how you get a different preorder bonus for killzone 2 depending on where you preorder
Amazon gets a home skin
best buy (I think) a theme
Gamestop a demo

bread's done
