A quick question to anyone who has gotten an S rank. How many S rankings does one need to get at the end of a mission to have that overall rank? I replayed the first mission from RE0 last night and got three S rankings, but only ended up with an A rank for the mission as a whole. I was dumbfounded to say the least.

First WII game I popped in.

I seriously need to get a friend over and get another WII gun so I can play it properly.. too hard with wiimote/chuck

Like someone in this thread said, the game penalizes you for playing it two players as it makes it hard to get a good high ranking score. Play it by yourself. It can be a bitch, but the un lockables can be rewarding.

Not all good games need to have online support (bioshock). Having an co-op rails shooter would diminish the experience.

so no, I am glad they didn't put this as online.

A slightly reworked ranking system and online leaderboards would be a nice touch though.

ah screw leader boards.

perhaps they will rework the ranking system in the sequel, if we get it :|
This game owns. Only problem is the reload. Gotta shake that wiimote pretty hard. :D
Not really, all I do is snap my wrist up and down or left to right. Now it is a pain to reload when your using the zapper as I have to swing it harder.

I have to really shake it for it to reload. Like, if you've ever played Z&W, shaking the bell isn't that hard. It's like a light shake. Well, for RE:UC it's like it thinks I'm just moving the cursor real fast left and right. So, I have to like shake it a little bit harder. Not that noticable though.
Not really, all I do is snap my wrist up and down or left to right. Now it is a pain to reload when your using the zapper as I have to swing it harder.
A saw a post on GameFAQs awhile ago and a guy figured out that you can just tap the side of the remote with your index finger. I tried it, and it reloads the gun everytime.

Exactly. And, for reference, remember that if you have it set to Zapper mode, that you shake the NUNHCUK to reload. Hitting that is just as easy, and swinging it to the left with my wrist (while it's hooked in) is also fairly easy.

Point is... it's a lightgun game... they can't make it *too* easy to reload, right? ;)
The only complaint I have is that the side missions don't support 2 players.
They do, but only after you've beaten the game completely, which means everything up to and including The Fourth Survivor.

when it's time to do a shake off of a zombie, I do a half crank snap with my zapper. Hey... I am starting to get use to this thing. :)

I really can't wait for the soundtrack...so I hooked the audio out to my pc and turned off sound effects in the audio options and recorded Rebecca's nightmare music and the two tracks from Wesker's RE0 and RE1 sub story.

here are some thoughts now that I have completely beaten the game.

I may not be knowledgeable in the justice system, but here goes.

In the final epilogue (The credit sequence) a news reporter indicated that Umbrella has been found guilty on all charges relating to the Raccoon City incident . The FBI and the Russian Ministry of Interior would be working together to find Spencer. Ok wouldn't Interpol and other country's government be involved in this as it's a world wide man hunt for this guy?

-How can " anonymous witness " testimony be used to bring down a mega cooperation like Umbrella? The defense team would want to know who it is and question that person. There is no real evidence that Wesker was the Anonymous Witness and I don't think he would waste his time testifying in court.

-If the government has seized Umbrella's property, how can Wesker still be using their equipment and assets? He doesn't need the money.

-Spencer was no doubt on that chopper with Sergei. He either was injured during the evacuation or needs medical support (as you can hear a heart monitor) due to some illness.

-Rebecca most likely quit after the Mansion incident. I don't think she could handle being in STARS after the shit she went thru in RE0 and RE1. She probably is a civilian nurse. Shes too traumatized to be involved in anything else.

-The company mentioned in RE4 "S", who Ada is working for is probably another company funded by Spencer.

-Billy probably left the country.

-How did Jill and Chris convince the Russian government to give them military support to raid the UMF-13 location?

-HUNK probably left umbrella to work for someone else.

The most basic answer is... none of it really makes sense, Capcom is making it up as they go along now.

Anyway, Spencer aside... Wesker is in business for himself now. In 4, Ada is working for him, and apparently he set up.. um... something... with the UMF-13 data. Or whatever. Apparently. That's what I got from it, anyway.

Rebecca and Billy are fairly unimportant, so I'm not even going to say much there.

I, too, also was a bit curious as to how Chris and Jill got clearance to do anything. Or, really, how Chris and Jill have become this important. Also, where in the hell was Barry? No Barry = bullshit.

Also... where exactly in this timeline does Code Veronica take place? Obviously, it's the first time we see 'new' Wesker, and he mentions that 'they' upgraded him. But... I was under the impression he did that to himself. Then, I also never understood why, if he was injected with the virus, why he's gone so long without HORRIBLY MUTATING LIKE EVERYONE ELSE.

But, really... those are my issues.

This really would be a let down if Capcom did not have a road map of where the story is headed and making stuff up as they go along.

Code Veronica takes place 3 months after the Raccoon City Incident. The Raid on UMF-13 takes place 5 years after the RCI. Soooo what were Jill and Chris doing all this time? I am very surprised that Wesker didn't try to go after Chris all this time, yet he Gloats about him and Chris' fate being intertwined?

According to Wiki, Sergei injected himself with a virus to mutate to fight Wesker, Yet I have played thru that mission several times and did not see Sergei inject himself with anything.

As for Wesker not mutating.... I am going to take a page out of Paul Anderson's book here, that Wesker and the Virus bonded with each other....as it did with Alice. I hate to relate those shitty movies to the actual series, but it's the only way I can come up with an explanation. Wesker *may* still be able to mutate and I believe he will during the final confrontation with him in a later game.

Is it just me or doe the game become ridiculously hard after the Mansion missions. I lost count of how many times I died during the first part of the RE3 scenario.

wait til you have to go replay those scenarios to get an "A" in order to unlock some of the submissions.

or better yet, wait til you get to Ada's and Hunk's sub missions...then you will think the main missions were a walk in the park.

I'm actually loving this game with the Wii Zapper. I leave the nunchuck in the shell, and a quick flick down reloads the game fairly easily. I'm not having any problems with any of the other controls either (well, maybe swinging the Zapper to use the knife, but it's silly slashing things on your face with a knife anyway). Very fun game and a nice alternative to Ghost Squad and Link's Crossbow Training.

after playing a few rounds with the zapper.. I feel that Nintendo could have made a more rumblized version of it. The shell softens the rumble of the wii-mote big time.

I can't wait til there is a wireless version of the nunchuck!

Sorry. It's actually not hard to reload. Apparently, it's my own stupidity. If you use pistol, if you shoot when your empty it reloads. Not sure about the rest though. If a zombie comes close (before counter-attack mode), can you use knife?

yes, if you time it correctly you can attack the zombie before he hits you..but it works like 2 out of 5 times.

I really like how the environment is "kinda" destructable -- ie lights, lamps, pictures, computers, paintings, etc..

Edit: I also noticed after 2 lvls that my ammo really isn't 10000.

Apparently, it's like: l0024
I kept thinking "l" is a 1. Guess not.

shit, if I had 10,000 rounds, I would rip the Nemesis to bits :)

That line is a bullet.

anyone unlocked infinite ammo yet? I.E. beat every mission with an S on hard mode... The most I have gotten is 2 S's on medium mode, and I consider myself to play decently.

Any tips on beating the last mission of 4th chapter with an A or S to unlock weskers second submission in that chapter? Is it easier to get a higher score playing with one person then two? (because then that one person would have all the kills to himself.?)

There is Infinite Ammo in this game?!?!?!?!

Shit I just tried to re do the third part of RE Zero scenario so I can raise my rank from a B to an A. I love the zapper but it feels like it hinders the fire rate for the Pistol and Shotguns. So trying to get a good shot from a distance using a pistol is worthless using the zapper.

I was going to try and unlock infinite ammo, but then it dawned on me that I don't care enough to do it.

I mean, really, I just don't feel that infinite ammo is going to add much to this game, especially considering the hassle to get it. Might just be me, though.

I REALLY hate hard games, should I avoid this game completely? Is there like an easy mode where I can get through the whole game just for the story. I'm not into getting the highest ranking or anything, but I like to be able to finish my games.

This game is not hard at all. These people just suck at games. ;) And yep, there's an easy mode.

YEA there is an easy mode, but if you really want to complete the game and unlock all the submissions, you gotta rank A or better in the main scenarios. I was averaging a B/C in the main scenarios but once I unlocked better guns, I went back and got them to A ranks.

As the other two said, this game isn't hard. The only mission I had trouble with was the third scenario for RE3. Other than that, I beat every mission the first time through (although it was without a great score).

I have to concur... even on Hard, the game isn't hard.

Especially once you've upgraded the weapons. I began to have a little trouble when I hit RE3, but I hadn't upgraded anything yet. I did, and boom... plowing through like it's nothing.
Also, the game is much easier (and more fun) with two player co-op.
but like others have said, the game penalizes you on score for it :whistle2:|

Surprised myself few minutes ago.. finally made it to plant monster and was like wtf what do i do. After 2 short deaths I found what to do.. on 3rd try I beat it with no hits.. 100% hp whole battle. Dam, that was a miracle for me. The part leading up to it was scary too. Dang.. I wish I played the RE series so I wouldn't get the bejeezus scared outta me.
Just got this game today with the Zapper. I'm loving Link's Crossbow thus far. Can't wait to get into RE.
just be careful with your ammo on your machine guns. The Zapper and the unlimited ammo hand gun makes it very difficult to pull off faster shots, so if you normally try to squeeze off 3 or 4 rounds, on the zapper you will only get 1-2 actually fired :whistle2:(

BTW has anyone found where the first handcannon is located!??!!? I have the other two magnums above it in the weapons selection but I can't seem to find the first handcannon anywhere. I think it's somewhere in the RE1 Scenario but no luck so far. It's the only weapon I am missing in the entire collection.

Well, I played the first scenario with the male character (played no RE games but 1 on the DS so I don't know names and don't recognize scenarios. :[). Not bad. It's bothersome that when fighting the boss everytime it required a waggle to avoid him I waggled my Zapper but it reloaded instead of dodging. Which reminds me, reloading is difficult sometimes having the whole unit as one.

Does the game use the healing items for you?

Also, can you re-earn stars from a mission? Like, I got a B from the first mission and got I think 2 stars. If I do it again do I get 2 more stars?

well the good news is yes you can re-earn stars as many times as you want :) However once you get enough to upgrade all your guns, there is nothing new to upgrade...so don't expect new outfits for Jill, Ada, or Rebecca :(

Yes, you will find green herbs around and of course the first aid kit gives you an extra life.

As for dodging, do you have you nunchuck attached to the Zapper or unattached? When it comes down to shake the nunchuck, shake the back of the zapper more wildly and most of the time it will work. It's too bad you can't pistol whip with your gun :( From what another poster said, according to GAMESFAQ, if you *tap* the side of the wiimote IR area with your index finger, it will reload for you :) It works 95% of the time.
