Resident Evil: Umbrella Chronicles! 950,000 sold! IGN: 7.9! 1-UP: 7.5! GT: 8.3!

I feel like I'm missing something, there are some great games coming out but I'm only looking forward to like, three? Resident Evil:UC, Galaxy, and the third is reserved for something I know I'll end up liking, but I haven't decided what it is .. yet lol.

Jesus, another game I need pretty much right when it comes out. Starting next week, my holiday rush begins.

BioShock, Corruption, Halo 3, Assassin's Creed, Mario, Umbrella Chronicles ...

See you suckers in January!

November is going to kill you.

Even worse: I left Zack & Wiki off that list.

I may have to take some time off work for this ... *cracks knuckles*
Looks worth getting unless bad reviews change my mind. I like the screen shots.
Video is better. I'm assuming you saw the video in my link.

The video is loading like crap here at school, but I've watched the first 45 seconds of game play or so. What's wrong with it exactly?
I actually did a search on it and I was wrong. It's supposed to be between 15 and 20 hours. Not 20 and 30. Sorry!
15-20 hours, seriously? Oh fucking yeah, I may pick this up now (not on launch date I will be too busy playing Fire Emblem and Mario Galaxy but sometime) considering reviews are good (I thought this game would be short and thats why I never looked into it).

Like the original REs amirite?

How so? Got a chance to watch more of the video and looks like the controls work just fine. Are you referring to just the gameplay at large not being real frantic?

The video doesn't look particularly slow and unresponsive to me, it seems like the reticle moves when the guy moves without delay. Only when he slashes across the screen does it seem like the cursor isn't quite matched up with his movements.

If it was a real light gun, he would never have been hit as many times as he was.

He struggled to get the cursor onto the enemies with relative ease and speed.

But real light guns won't work on HDTVs, so this is pretty much a dead genre. At least until we get something like the Wiimote that is closer to 1:1 response time.

Apparently there are some guns out that use sensors on three sides of the TV that do a better job. Not sure what games they're with etc., just read about them in another post here talking about this issue a while back.

The games that use the 3 sensor method are all arcade games.
The first home game to use it will be Time Crisis 4 with the new GunCon.
I'm curious as to how well it'll work.

Cool. Which console is time crisis 4 coming out on? I'm curious to see how it would work as well. More for the potential of the Wii 2 to have closer to 1:1 control. I'm not sure I'd clutter up my TV with 3 sensors just for one game.

I am SOOO buying this at full price (49.99)!

As long as it has high replay value, save check points and kick ass weapons.. then it's gonna be worth it.

I'm starting to think the game has a whole bunch of crap they haven't mentioned to us.

They should include an option if you have a real lightgun and give you the choice...and then someone needs to release a real lightgun for the Wii. The game would be that much better.

But the game is probably designed not for the lightning quick movements of a normal light gun anyway.
It'd be too easy then with a GC light gun.

like what do you think the "Crap" will be? my guess the only way to play the "Wesker story PoV" will be to beat the game on Hard :|

WHAT?

What happened to the other cover art with all the characters from the other games?!??!

They got to get rid of Wesker from the cover and leave the Umbrella on there.

Now that this is banned in Germany, I want it even more. Just like Manhunt 2. ;)

This is the type of game I want. I love zapper games. I could piss away millions on House of the Dead at the arcade if I didn't hate parting with my money without getting anything back.

This is on my list of must buys when the Christmas gift cards roll around, until then I will wait it out (unless there is a super deal with it going for ~$20).
I think I'm going to hold off on this one until some good reviews come in, just to be safe. This game could go either way.
I can tell you right now that this game isn't going to get good reviews. The highest it will probably get is 7.x

See, most reviewers don't like light gun games, and most don't like the idea of a RE game that isn't third person, etc. This game will always be viewed as not a real RE game and it will get reviewed accordingly. Add in the Wii factor which will drop the score even more and there you go.

Trailer showing off some of the weapons. I like the idea of the melee attacks. What bothers me though is that the enemies don't seem to react all that differently between weapons. There is one scene where a grenade explodes behind the zombies, and they all stagger backwards as if there were shot from the front.

Most likely it will reach the 8.6+ level. To be honest, even if the movement is limited, it's one of the first rail system games I've seen on any console. If not, the only. I seriously could care less if reviewers hate these types of games, but it's these types of games I only find in the arcade. And.. the only people that hang around arcades over here are like druggies. Thus, having this on the Wii system would be great. I might get this pre-order, or wait until it comes out and read the reviews. Hoping it will shoot the 8+ level. Seems like a great game. It's not everyday you can shoot tons of zombies with your friend in a Resident Evil series.

It seems like a short game though.

rail....systems? All light gun games are classified as rail shooters, though it would certainly be among the first to be peripheral free, along with the likes of Killer 7 and Dragon Quest Swords.

Oh. Well anyway, it makes the game more intense. It's also the first rail shooter on the wii anyhow. It will create a different experience, because it will probably be just like the ones in the arcades. Such games like Killer 7, you had to use the GC controller. RE:UC will obviously use the wiimote and nunchuk. Create a more realistic feel.

what sucks is that the Wii Zapper is coming out a WEEK AFTER UC comes out. So for all those who are getting UC on launch and beat it within a week are going to have to replay the entire thing again with the Zapper attachment. I really hope that the Wesker scenario is unlocked after you beat the main game, with about an additional 3-6 hours of game play.

Doubtful I'm going to get the Wii Zapper for MoH:Heroes 2 or Umbrella Chronicles. Doubt it will make "much" of a difference. I'd rather spend that $40 (yes, $40 - two wii zappers) on MLB Power Pros or Zack & Wiki,

Sweet video. The more I see of this, the more I want it.

So I just watched the movie. I haven't really been following this game at all, so it surprised me. Is it a remake of the first 3 RE games only in like.. first person shooter mode? Also, it looked like the person playing could move a little bit, so is it like the Dead Aim game?

Is it just me, or do these trailers make anybody else want to play the actual RE games they feature? I've been on the edge about wether or not I should buy this game, so I keep watching the trailers to see if I want it. Every time I watch the trailers I think "I don't want to play this, I want to play an actual RE game".

I'm afraid to get it because I'm worried I'll feel the same way once I'm playing it.

$11.99
I was just looking at that. I might pick up UC just as an excuse to get that thing. I'd much rather have my Wii "gun" in pistol form.

1. It is a retelling of the games that deal with Umbrella (No RE2), with new story in the first person perspective. If you want the definitive version of the RE story this will have it.

2. It's on rails - you can only control where you look to an extent.

Famitsu - 8/8/8/8

Comment translation from NeoGAF:
* Difficult; even in easy, simple wandering enemies almost rise to the "miniboss" level
* Multiplay is kinda fun
* Most difficult bosses in a while
* Lots of weapons, and it's fun just to blow things up
* Zombie shuffling increases headshot difficulty
* Pattern-learning helps to aim for weak spots
* Practicing has a nice feeling of payoff
