Revolution Conspiracy Theroies... THE PLOT THICKENS

pumbaa

CAGiversary!
Leave it t my fellow Nintendo fanatics to start up and peice together odd conspiracy theories. It doesnt take much thought to peice together the peices and think that Nintendo has something up its sleeve... to be revealed later in E3.

Some "facts" include:

An ongoing "poem" on Nintendo's home page underneath the "Nintendo Press Conference" label. Yesterday is said "Revolution makes a splash"... today it says something like "Revolution sinks like a stone".

A lot of what that Aries guys said has become true... including backwards compatibility for 20 years and that we would be disappointed in Nintendo... Nintendo pulling a "prank" on consumers.

A cryptic article posted on the official Nintendo site hinting that the Revolution is indeed playable behind closed doors.

Videos on the Ninty e3 website (which I saw) before E3 that showed various Nintendo officials planning out things for the entire week... including something big on Thursday.

Read the links for the rest of the random speculation.

Here's the buzz around the 'net.

BTW... the Miyamoto picture on the 2nd link is obviously photoshopped... still interesting nonetheless.

EDIT: http://mozlapunk.web-log.nl/log/2574674

This link has even MORE peices together... some of it's a little farreaching... but is tomorrow a big day for Nintendo?!?! I guess we'll see.

my theory: The Revolution looks like an external hard drive...because it is one
No revolution controlers have been shown...because there are none

What's revolutionary: it is actually a hard drive that acts as an adapter allowing gamers to play nintendo games on the HD compatible Xbox 360 and PS3

It's nice to see someone else equally interested in Nintendo's new console instead of dismissing them as "R3v0lu710n i5 t3h SUXXX)!!1!" I honestly don't think Nintendo's done yet. These are some very interesting theories.

..Gee, you mean they didn't let everything be known about a system that won't launch for another 15 or so months? You say that they might actually save it for E3 2006, when they're close(r) to launch?

In all seriousness, Nintendo Fanboys of all people should realize that they won't lay it all out, especially this far from the launch window.

You know what i've been wondering, though? I'm wondering if this is Nintendo's last console before they tap out.. I mean, think about it. It's high powered with the option to play their entire library..

The truth is now that the 3rd pillar will be in place they can show how all 3 systems are actually each a of piece of the triforce. Once linked together they will start to glow gold and do all these amazing things that no one ever believed possible before.

On a serious note....we all know that Nintendo has something up its sleeves. It would be nice if that something is really revolutionary enough to put a dent in the PS3's armor. I'm at least excitied and open to the possibilities.

id have to say right now i am more excited then any console i can think of ever... man im such a sucker

edit... we should be able to see it in the thread...

Very interesting stuff. Thanks for the link Pumbaa. I followed some of the things Aries was saying a few weeks ago, and a lot of it came true. The guy knew what he was talking about.

He said that we'd be disappointed and we were. I can't wait for Friday.

Your idea is beautiful. My god if they do that, they'll have something that'd suit Nintendo PERFECTLY. They don't want to develop for other systems, but they've had difficulty in the past two generations making their own exclusive systems. Your theory is kickass =)

I wonder if they'll be showing the Revolution behind closed doors... to open at the end of the conference.

Thank you, I like it. If only it were true. I'm getting tired of shelling out cash every few years to buy a new "Nintendo Game TV Adapter", but I always will, cuz Nintendo games are some of the best imho

Matrix Online 2?

:)

That would be nice if Nintendo had something up thier sleeve... Get people talking about a few subjects, and than hit them with the motherload after everything else hits

I can't wait until they release new info on the Revolution.

A Nintendo brand MMO of some sort would be awesome. Like online fighting leagues for SSB would rock.

Even better is this patent, also filed yesterday. I will bold pertinent lines...

http://patft.uspto.gov/netacgi/nph-...ND&d=ptxt&s1=nintendo&OS=nintendo&RS=nintendo

A fully programmable, graphics microprocessor is disclosed which is designed to be embodied in a removable external memory unit for connection with a host information processing system. In an exemplary embodiment, a video game system is described including a host video game system and a pluggable video game cartridge housing the graphics microprocessor. The game cartridge also includes a read-only program memory (ROM) and a random-access memory (RAM). The graphics coprocessor operates in conjunction with a three bus architecture embodied on the game cartridge. The graphics processor using this bus architecture may execute programs from either the program ROM, external RAM or its own internal cache RAM. The fully user programmable graphics coprocessor has an instruction set which is designed to efficiently implement arithmetic operations associated with 3-D graphics and, for example, includes special instructions executed by dedicated hardware for plotting individual pixels in the host video game system's character mapped display which, from the programmer's point of view, creates a "virtual" bit map by permitting the addressing of individual pixels—even though the host system is character based. The graphics coprocessor interacts with the host coprocessor such that the graphics coprocessor's 16 general registers are accessible to the host processor at all times.

What if what they have shown us is just that, just a part of this revolutionary console?

All taken together, I think there might be more credence to this "Nintendo On" than we have been led to believe. Nintendo has filed a flurry of patents in the last few months. I see patents for Video Game Distribution systems, Creating and playing soundtracks, detection of signal loss, wireless game control units, the list goes on...

Keep in mind, this patent was filed 11/23/04 right around when the DS launched.

The present invention is directed to a game system that displays a 3-D game screen and a 2-D map screen for representing a 3-D game space. The present game system includes a 2-D map screen display control section, a cursor operating section, a first cursor movement control section, a 3-D game screen display control section, and a second cursor movement control section. The 2-D map screen display control section is to display the 2-D map screen including a first cursor. The cursor operating section is operated by a player. In accordance with an operation of the cursor operating section, the first cursor movement control section moves the first cursor on a 2-D field map. The 3-D game screen display control section is to display the 3-D game screen including a second cursor. The second cursor movement control section moves the second cursor in the 3-D game space in relation to a movement of the first cursor on the 2-D field map.

What does everyone think?

WTF???
The last link pumbaa has up had some interesting theories behind this, the most interesting being that Reggie might have registered that domain name himself!

I have to say I'm hooked on this mystery. It could just be me, but the conspiracy theories are starting to make sense. I hope more info comes out soon.

Hmm...The Plot Thickens

“Here is an interesting tidbit guys. I just got a phone call from a colleague at EA who received a memo to attend a Nintendo conference at 10:00am PST on the show floor tomorrow morning. Nothing else was said, however so it could be about anything. Not necessarily Revolution.”

Oh man… this is too much.

End the pain, Nintendo.

Im thinking the revolution is only part of the complete system, maybe its just a drive that goes in a customizeable pc tower that has different sized memory or ds playback units
Next, for your perusal.

The Nintendo On featured motion capture, to move the characters, right?

Two more patents filed in the last two months.
I've done some research...

Everyone seen the Ninteno On video?

The headset, or controller, if you will, featured a microphone and a set of speakers? check out this patent filed by Nintendo less than a month ago: 04-19-2005

None of those were filed by nintendo, it has other companies credited for the patent.

Man, I was just getting excited. It's going to be an even bigger letdown tomorrow if nothing happens. I hope the hype pays off.

You're right.

I screwed up. I searched for patents filed by Nintendo, and it pulled those up, it must have pulled up all patents with nintendo in the desciprtion.

It would be a great strategy if they really had another huge announcement to make because I think Microsoft and Sony have shot their loads already. People would come out of E3 remembering Nintendo the most if they make the biggest impression last.... or something....
Man, I was just getting excited. It's going to be an even bigger letdown tomorrow if nothing happens. I hope the hype pays off.
I'm not too worried if nothing happens tomorrow. Nintendo has never let me down...Well they did make the N64 (my least liked nintendo system).

Anyway the revolution seems like its going to be really bad ass, just by the hype. I just hope nintendo doesn't think that buying some old ass games online and having online services is revolutionary. Manly because its been done in the past. I hope they shake some feathers and flip the industry around with the revolution. I hope that whatever they make Wows me to the point I can't wait for it to come out. I don't want it to be like the Game cube which is my third console and in some case people's second console. I don't want it to complement other consoles in my stable. I want it to be the system that I think about when I want to play a game; kind of how my xbox is now for me.

HOLY SHIT!!! THIS IS OFFICIALLY GETTING SUPER WEIRD!!!!!

5-16-05 - 5-22-05 Horoscope =

"Don't be too hard on yourself early this week. The monotony of routine might bring you down, especially by Wednesday, but try not to let it have too much impact on your mental or physical health. Don't worry -- action is coming your way very soon. You'll need to think about your organization or industry as a whole on Thursday and Friday. Initiate new projects with the big picture in mind. Work worries might consume you over the weekend if you haven't confronted all your problems head-on this week, so be proactive. "
I like this mystery and this viral marketing stuff.

I think Nintendo is definitely behind it.
I'm going to remain skeptical, if only to soften the blow tomorrow if nothing's announced. Still, all of these pieces just seem to fit together TOO well. It's difficult to believe it's all the result of coincidence.
