Rewarding Achievements - Confirmed!
At the moment, the site seems to be working fine.

Finally got acknowledged for completing the challenge (although it took me over 3000 points total) but comfirming one's address for the t-shirt/FF2 leads to a registration page with all your info already inserted. Ended up just submiting the reg info again and I hope that works.
I get the "Your Microsoft Windows Live™ ID must be associated with a valid Xbox Live™ Gamertag to register. Login to Xbox.com for more information." message when I try and confirm my address.
NBA Live 2006. Easy 960 pts. Maybe 60 mins of work.
I'm renting that game tomorrow. Are you interested in playing two multiplayer matches (I'll win one, you win the other)? That way you'll have the full 1,000.

Maybe.

I thought that any Achievements earned within the challange period would count, whether you'd registered or not. I got 300 points yesterday before I managed to register and none of them counted.

Next time I'll know not to do anything until I'm signed up.

So is there a way of tracking your progress on the site itself? I don't wanna get on, play my games, and then find out the 1500 points didn't register. I've gotten 120 points so far and I wanna make sure those are there before I sit down to get more points.

Yes, once you've signed up for myrewards and gotten to the Old Spice Challenge page, there's two options "Join Challenge" and "I'm Finished" - Click on the first to join this specific challenge and afterwards everytime you visit that page, only the "I'm Finished" option will be highlighted in green. If you click that button, a small popup window appears to offer congratz if you finished or list how many points you still need if not.

I finally was able to register. After the site being down since it started. Looks like its time to rent some old sports game to get that 1500. :)

I use

http://www.mygamercard.net/rewardspy.php

which is "unofficial", but matches my tally

versus

http://xboxrewards.msgamestudios.com/challengesandrewards/ChallengeDetail.aspx?id=4

which is the official tally (click "I'm finished" for your progress update)

My tally and MGC.net's tally isn't matching up with the official one (which doesn't show about 410 points of progress I made on the first day). It would suck if they went to waste. :bomb:

Thanks for informing me Johnny Postman and WaltJay. I was afraid clicking "I'm Finished" without the necessary points would screw up my registration somehow.

no luck finding a copy of NBA 2k6, I may sim 30 seasons on Mdden06 though for the 400 points.

I still have lost planet and splinter cell DA sitting here and I have never played them. I can probably get a little out of them.

I dont know about you guys but it costs me more to rent the sports games than to just buy Contra i.e. blockbuster is 8 bucks a game here in Arizona.

Now before you say Fusion Frenzy.. how many of you guys would actually pay 8 bucks for Fusion Frenzy?

Quick Question:
When you sign up for one prize, do you get all the prizes in that category. To me it seems like you don't by the website layout, but by what I've read it seems like you do.

I can't believe this started and my 360 died on Tuesday... Red Lights of Death. At least I got it at Costco so I should be able to get another one easy, but I signed up at right under 10,000 points and that just sucks. It lasted longer than I expected considering I got it a month after launch.

Okay, has anyone at Level 3 that has completed the challenge been able to confirm their address yet?

I keep getting:

Your Microsoft Windows Live™ ID must be associated with a valid Xbox Live™ Gamertag to register. Login to Xbox.com for more information.

There are just no easy steps in this whole process, huh.

Okay, I just found this in their help and support section, so I don't think I need to confirm my address if I have already entered it. I'll shoot them an email just in case.

How do I collect my physical Rewards?
You must signify your completion of the Challenge (see Question 8). If so, once we have confirmed that you met all Challenge requirements, we will send your physical Reward(s) to the mailing address listed in your Xbox Rewards registration profile. Check to make sure that it is correct and up to date. No Rewards will be shipped to mailing addresses outside of the 50 United States and D.C. Rewards will delivered within approximately 12 weeks from the date your redemption request is fully processed. Rewards that are undeliverable will not be resent and shall be deemed forfeited. If you have questions about the delivery of physical rewards, feel free to email [email protected].

I'm getting the exact same message when I try and confirm my address Shipwreck, might ping them a mail as well.
I don't suppose any prizes will be sent out till the Challange ends though.

Simming in Madden takes a long time (but little effort). DA will give you 50 points for completing both training courses but beyond that the points are not that quick or easy. Lost Planet only gives you 10 points for each level you beat so that isnt the best option either...

I pay $20 a month for unlimited rentals at Blockbuster so I don't mind renting a few crappy games. ;)

There are also some 50 point Achievements for killing certain bosses in Lost Planet and 10 extra points per level for finding 5 hidden tokens. But I would agree they're not easy points.

Well, at least it was a timely response. :)

I honestly think we are okay as long as your Windows Live ID (aka .Net Passport) has your address correct.

And why does it seem that this single log-in thing has suddenly turned into a lot of different accounts that don't want to talk to one another?

I just checked my Live Id address, and good job I did because it was wrong.

First line of the address was missing. I'm sure this is correctly linked with my Gamertag though.

Actually it goes up to 15 and 20 points for the later levels, and I think 30 for the last one, same goes for collecting the tokens. The points are the same even if you play it on easy mode, so if you do all that you should be able to rack up a few hundred over a weekend.
How long does MLB 2K6 take to get achievements.
I'm hoping it takes 70 minutes because I gotta do it tonight because I can't all weekend.
it took me one game to get 3 of the 5 achievements, 10 mins to get the robbery one (i just played against AL east and threw fastballs down the middle over and over)

i coulda got 4 in the first game but i didn't even realize i had auto substitution on and for some reason they kept substituting my batters with 2 homeruns, so i ended up with 6 batters having 2 homeruns and 0 with 3 :(

That happened to me in NBA 2K6. There is one acheivement were you need to get 15 3-pointers with one specific player and he kept getting swapped out. It was a pain in the ass because I had to keep putting him back in...

Dumb Question?

But how do I know when I've increased my gamerscore by 1500? I didn't write down how much I had when I started and I'm a level 2. So when I increas it i'll be a level 3, will the website recognize it? And as soon as I'm a level 3, I click "I'm finished" right?

Click im finished now. A little box will pop up telling you that you are not done and how many more points you need.

not sure if this was posted but this guide is pretty helpful.

http://www.gamespot.com/features/6145320/p-8.html

I still have amped 3 sealed and my Burger King games so I might get those a spin now. =) Also this gave me an exuse to finally pick up NFS Most Wanted again to pass it. Also with crackdown coming I think I got 1500 set pretty easily, assuming those achivements arent too tough.

The Achievements in Crackdown seem pretty simple but there are a lot of them. It'll make good fun though.

So what happens if you just stay the level you are? If I opt to stay a level 2 and not get 1500 to bump me up? Do I get the level 2 prizes? (not that I want to, jus askin)

What would you get the prizes for? Getting 1500 points is the whole contest.

Son of a bitch. I totally forgot about this until today. I signed up but had not started the challenge. I just played King Kong the whole way (1000 points) and they didn't count. Yargh!!
What would you get the prizes for? Getting 1500 points is the whole contest.
ok, so I guess I misunderstood...I thought you were a certain level and then if you got the 1500 they bumped you up another level.

Here's my correspondence with XBox support regarding my prizes

Dear XBox Rewards folks,

I recently took and won the Old Spice Challenge. My profile on the Rewards site claims that I have won all 5 Tier 3 prizes. I have clicked on the confirm button for my two physical rewards *The Old Spice T-shirt and copy of Fuzion Frenzy 2*. I realize that these items will not be delivered until a later date, however, I would like to confirm that I will be receiving the two physical rewards. My gamertag is Kid Pyrrhic.

Thanks for your help

Not quite the answer I was looking for, but I assume it means that if it shows up under your account, you're good to go.

terribledeli, so you're showing on your Rewards page the t-shirt and the game as having the "Confirm" button right? I clicked "Confirm" on both and all it did was take me to the Registration page. I was expecting the "Confirm" button to go away after.
ok, so I guess I misunderstood...I thought you were a certain level and then if you got the 1500 they bumped you up another level.
That is what happens. But the level bump is just one of the prizes, it doesn't give the next highest level of prizes in this contest. The only goal is to get 1500 points.

120 points so far.. Aside from finishing Madden 06, I'm trying not to be lame and go out and rent a game to finish the 1380 I have left, but if it comes down to that, I will. I want Contra. :D
How!?

I'm still getting "Sorry, we were unable to validate your gamer details." when trying to sign in or do any shortcuts from registration.

It's extremely frustrating.
I still get this along with the error pop up "CountryNotFound".

Amazing that the site is still not setup for some users.

Same here. I've yet to get a decent amount, but by Monday, if I am not within 500 points, Madden '06 or NBA 2K6, here I come.

Yeah. Thats what concerned me. I was hoping the CSR would be able to confirm that I had confirmed my address and my prizes would be sent out when they send them out. I guess as long as you hit the button once, there's no problem.

don't you get until april to get the 1500 gamerscore?
don't you get until april to get the 1500 gamerscore?
April is when the contest ends, but the halfway decent prizes are all very limited in quantity.

I kept going back and forth. Being an achievement whore, I was in. But then, I saw people grabbing the easy 1000's and the limited number of prizes, so I gave it up. When I noticed that the prizes were slow in getting claimed, I decided to give it a go, which resulted in me having only Gun and the final half of NFS Most Wanted, which made me want to rip my hair out. Glad I finally got it done though. Not too psyched about Fuzion Frenzy, but I feel proud that I actually made it.
