Hopefully Hollywood Video will have this for rent this week. Can't afford to buy this, and I know I won't get shit in a trade-in of WrestleMania 21.

Did they fix the problem where you have to button mash for several minutes just to get up?

sometimes u stilll have to press a alot to get up....

it hink the chants arent that bad....

the game is hella fun

i think masters should have been rated a lil higher than 75

Awesome. I've one more paper and one more exam to grade, then I'll be done for three weeks (then exam preparation time! fuck yeah! ). I look forward to the immense drinking beginning this evening, and plenty of Disgaea and DoR2 during the day.
FYI.. between Noon and 2PM on Friday afternoons is when HWV puts out all new release game rentals
Yeah, that seems to be when HWV here puts out new games. However, sometimes they put out games before, which sucks.

Just found out that Corpus is getting Monday Night RAW October 10! Got to sell some blood or something to come up with some cash. That, and I need to take a sign... what could I take? Maybe "I'm a Texan, and I hate Shawn Michaels" sign would be nice.

Need to come up with money... RAW... Nine Inch Nails a few days after... HIM in San Antonio...

I wouldn't bother making a sign anymore for WWE events... they're so picky on having any signs, even if they're harmless.
I wouldn't bother making a sign anymore for WWE events... they're so picky on having any signs, even if they're harmless.
That, and (1) they aren't funny, (2) won't get seen on tv, (3) big fuckin' whoop if #2 is false, nobody's paying attention, and (4) the people sitting behind you hate you.
I wouldn't bother making a sign anymore for WWE events... they're so picky on having any signs, even if they're harmless.
Yeah, I know... that kinda sucks.

However, a friend of mine was able to get away with a couple of funny signs at WWE events with an interesting idea... he either takes a dry erase board and eraser/marker... or he just writes out part of a sign and then finishes it right when the wrestler is coming out:

For example... he might write "HBK" on the sign, and then when he hears his music, he'll write "Sucks" underneath the HBK. Then, after HBK gets in the ring and he's been on TV, he'll tear up/erase his writing so that the security can't do anything to him.

You know, I think I'll be the nice guy and not take anything because of #4. Even though I've been victim to jackasses sitting in front of me, and dumb bastards jumping in front of my seat to try and tag the wrestlers (now I only let little kids cut in front to be nice).

I'll just do the nice thing and yell stuff at the wrestlers I hate. After all, the announcers tell you you can scream, yell, cheer, boo or whatever as long as you stay behind the rails.

There's little in this world (as a wrestling fan, anyway) as satisfying as the dumbfounded look from a wrestler who hears you yell something really mean, like "how's it feel to be so fucking boring?"

Actually I've gotten one sign on WWE TV before...

That was at the Smackdown TV taping the week before the 2004 Royal Rumble. The week prior Cena made Heyman eat soap or something like that.

Sadly the sign hide my face... then again, Vince should be glad too since I was wearing my Raven "Flock You" TNA shirt. :D

I don't see how that refutes anything I've said about signs. It's dumb, and it made the person sitting behind you not see anything, and thus cry. Also, what are you doing at a SD show, Mr. Hate WWE?

A) I got the tickets for damn cheap ($60 for two lower level seats)
B) I had high hopes in the pushing of Benoit at the time. Of course we saw where that went.
C) I only had the sign up when it was APPROPRIATE. Otherwise I was watching the show like everyone else.

-- All of Christian’s merchandise has been pulled from the shelves due to some sort of legal issue. We hope for more details on this soon.

-- The final touches are being put on the Bret Hart DVD as of press time. Bret Hart has been going back and forth to Stamford, CT. working on the DVD for the past week. Hart is said to be very happy with how the DVD turned out.

-- Just a reminder that WrestleMania tickets will be going on sale on October 15.

If Hart's happy with it, you can only imagine how great it's going to be.

Hurricane Katrina hits home for Heidenreich
http://www.wwe.com/inside/news/katrina

John Heidenreich pleaded with his father.

With Hurricane Katrina bearing down on the entire Gulf Coast, Ronald Heidenreich’s home in Harahan, Louisiana, was sitting right in the path of the impending storm that eventually devastated parts of three states on Monday.

Harahan, which is 10 miles north of New Orleans, was rocked by Katrina, which left most of the historic city and its surrounding suburbs destroyed, flooded and under as much as 20 feet of contaminated water.

New Orleans, a city of nearly half a million people with a metro area of 1.3 million, was under a mandatory evacuation order over the weekend. However, many residents, including Ronald Heidenreich, defied that order and remained home.

“I wanted him to take my (Ford) Expedition and get out of there,” an emotional Heidenreich told WWE.com Tuesday afternoon. “But he has a lot of pets and two homes down there. He’s been through Hurricane Betsy (1965) and Camille (1969). He’s a trooper. But I wanted him to leave.”

Instead, Ronald decided to weather the vicious storm. Two days later, John Heidenreich is still trying to contact his father.

“I just wish I could talk to my dad,” said Heidenreich, a New Orleans native who lives in nearby Meterie, Louisiana. “I can’t get in touch with anybody. I just wish I knew if he was alright. I even tried to call the police station in his hometown, but no phone numbers in the area are working.”

Heidenreich, who is one half the WWE Tag Team Champions, was in Jacksonville, Florida, Tuesday. With nobody able to enter or exit New Orleans for at least the next two weeks, if not much longer, Heidenreich plans to stay with friends in Louisville, Kentucky, while the city dries out.

Still, Heidenreich has no idea if the two-bedroom duplex he rents in Meterie is still standing. He left his cat Caramella, both his cars and nearly everything he owns back home. His only contact with his hometown comes via the disturbing footage shown on television and over the internet.

“I’ve been watching the footage,” Heidenreich said. “A helicopter was flying over an area near where I live. I saw a mall I shop at was flooded and the front of the building was ripped open with merchandise all over the place. I had no idea it would be this bad.”

Heidenreich’s mother lives in Picuyane, Mississippi, which is also part of the Gulf Coast region that got hammered by Katrina. Fortunately, Heidenreich has been able to reach her on her cell phone since the storm touched down.

“I spoke to my mom twice on her cell phone,” Heidenreich said. “Her power is out, and she had about 12 trees fall in her yard and one busted a window. Down trees are blocking her entire street and she can’t leave her house.”

While his hometown begins to pick up the pieces, Heidenreich is doing his best to focus on wrestling. SmackDown! live events are scheduled for Macon and Albany, Georgia over the next few days and SmackDown! will be in Atlanta next week. In the meantime, Heidenreich doesn’t even recognize the city he grew up in.

“I was born there, I played high school football there, I played for the Saints, New Orleans is a big part of my life,” Heidenreich said. “I have all these phone numbers of friends and I can’t get through to them because the towers are damaged. It’s weird to know so many people and not be able to get in touch with any of them. Hopefully, the footage they’ve been showing on television is the worst of it.

“My heart goes out to everyone out there,” Heidenreich added. “You just can’t believe it’s happening. It doesn’t look real.

Given its location, New Orleans has always been a city under the constant threat of dangerous tropical storms or hurricanes. Up until Monday, many of the most recent storm threats never fully materialized.

“It’s like the boy that cried wolf so many times,” Heidenreich said. “You always hear the big one is coming and it always weakens or goes somewhere else. But this was our time. You don’t realize how much damage Mother Nature can do. It almost feels like the end of the world.”

Even so, Heidenreich would feel that much better if he could just reach his father.

Heidenreich's whole family being wiped out wouldn't even being to repay the debt he owes to rasslin fans for trying to act like he's on the the Road Warriors.
If Hart's happy with it, you can only imagine how great it's going to be.
I know. We're all in for a major treat. And with that I'll segue to this:

Time for another late-night/early-morning edition of Saucy Jack's rasslin' news. Brought to you by... CAG. When you can't sleep during the night, there's always CAG. Well, that or Ambien. :)

- While the overall cable ratings for "The Ultimate Fighter 2" have not increased to levels worthy of boasting, the show has done extremely well in its targeted young males demographic.

- Bryan Danielson will make his return to Ring Of Honor on September 17 in a World Title match against James Gibson.

- According to PWTorch.com, TNA is deeply interested in bringing in Bret Hart as a "surprise legend" for its debut on Spike TV. While the parties have spoken, there is nothing to suggest TNA is even close to securing The Hitman for the show.

In the new issue of Smackdown Magazine (with Benoit on the cover as the US Champ) they wrote the following about the Warrior DVD (paraphrased):

One of the most enigmatic figures in WWE history adored by many, but not highly regarded within the industry. At one time the most popular superstar on the planet, his bizarre behavior assured it could not last.

The Warrior DVD pulls no punches dishing all the dirt on Jim 'Warrior' Hellwig. Featuring Interviews from Vince, Hogan, Heenan, DiBase and Slaughter.

From his early days as a Blade Runner, to the Dingo Warrior to his WWE breakthrough in 1987, viewers are taken through every step of the Warrior experience. What makes the DVD compelling for fans is the other side of the story that was not seen by the public at the time. Warrior’s colleagues tell the story of a man who was unstable, unprofessional and ungrateful for the chance given to him by WWE. Despite his charisma Warrior failed to attain the success many felt he was destined to, and this DVD analyzes those reasons.

Included in the DVD are the Ultimate Challenge vs. Hogan at Mania 6, his IC title win over Honky Tonk at Summerslam, and the retirement match vs. Savage.

Unlike many DVD tributes which sugarcoat things to glorify their subjects, The Self Destruction of Ultimate Warrior is a brutally honest take on one of sports entertainment’s biggest stars. For any fan of Warrior or WWE from this era it is nothing short of a gem.

Time for another edition of Saucy Jack's rasslin' news, brought to you by... Jushin "Thunder" Liger. He doesn't have a product, but he's a damn good wrestler.

WARNING! VELOCITY & SMACKDOWN! SPOILERS BELOW!
Adam Carey sent this report.

Quick Smackdown spoilers totally off memory.

Dark Match

Shane Twins Beat Buck Quartermain and Antonio Banks.

Velocity

Vito beat Steven Richards with a version of Edge's finisher.
Returning Brian Kendrick beat Paul London in a great match with sliced bread #5.
Doug Basham Beat Mike Madden??? Didn't catch the last name.
Super Crazy beat Nunzio in a non title match. Another Superb Match, good week to see Velocity.

Smackdown

Recap of last week with the network shutting down the women's match.

First match: Heidenreich beat Joey Mercury with all kinds of outside interference. Beatdown on LOD after win.

Backstage "The Mole" talking to the network rep and thanking him for signing the Tag Team Title Rematch for Friday Smackdown (guess UPN is booking the show now?).

From here, it gets a little sketchy in some of these so they are maybe not in order.

Bob Orton intros Randy Orton and cut a promo about how they ended the Undertaker's legacy. They hype next week whether UT will show up or not. Announced for tonight that Randy Orton will face Rey Mysterio Jr.

Network rep apologizes to Stacy and Christy about having to cancel their match last week but wants a straight up match between them tonight. Divas accept.

Chris Benoit backstage says he wants to show yet again what he can do faster than the match with Orlando Jordan so he has Josh Matthews time him while he uses the bathroom and washes his hands. Pretty funny stuff

Rematch: Chris Benoit beats Orlando Jordan by tap out in 23.4 seconds. Clock was counting down in the corner of screen. Can they bury Jordan any more? ANOTHER rematch announced for next week with Jordan and Benoit.

Teddy Long congratulates the network rep on making the first episode of Friday Night Smackdown the best ever so far. The Network says that the Batista-JBL match will be a bullrope match and Teddy Long counters with the Mysterio-Guerrero match being a cage match now.

Simon Dean out to claim that Batista uses his Simon System and that is why he is champion now. Out comes Bautista and states he can't remember for the life of him ever using the product but wants to give it a try. He takes a chug and says it's making him feel stronger and bigger by the second. He then tells Dean that it makes him feel more aggressive. Total squash from there, Batista wins via Batista Bomb.

Mr. Ken Kennedy beat Booker T with Sharmell. Kennedy won with his top rope finisher. Christian did commentary and got into an argument with Sharmell. Booker T was on his way up to the top rope and was distracted by what was going on and got caught in the finisher. Sharmell let him have it and he argued back this time.

Scotty 2 Hotty and Funaki lose to William Regal and Paul Birchall.

Eddie Guerrero cuts a promo in the back behind a cage basically stating he has lost his family and he has nothing to lose. He says he will brutilize Rey in their match. Went WAY too long.

Randy Orton beats Rey Mysterio Jr. in a phenomenal match that went easily 15 to 20 minutes.

Dark Match Main Event

Batista Beats Randy Orton via Batista Bomb.

A lot of people were VERY angry that the Undertaker and JBL were advertised along with Eddie Guerrero and did not appear, even though JBL has an autograph session right here in Jacksonville tomorrow. Unbelievable that they get away with this garbage with no explanation. Arena was 3/4 full. Overall a hot crowd with some dead spots in the interview segments that went on and on.

Ilan Glazer sent this report.

I was at the Velocity/Smackdown taping tonight in Jacksonville, Florida. Thought I’d write in and see if you guys can use my thoughts. I didn’t catch every wrestler’s name on Velocity, but the rest should be good.

There was a dark match before Velocity. Two Jacksonville wrestlers I’d never heard of took on two other wrestlers I’d never heard of. Needless to say, crowd was hot for the locals, who actually looked half decent from what I saw. They looked like identical twins, and the crowd at one point started a Goldberg chant cause they looked like him. That was pretty funny. Needless to say, locals won.

Nunzio and Big Vito come out to Nunzio’s entrance music (can’t Big V get his own?), Vito faces Stephen Richards. Big V gets the win when Nunzio interferes. Lots of ECW chants from the crowd.

Hardcore Holly vs. Steve Menecit(sp). Hardcore Holly was great and the crowd was totally into him. Definitely a squash match, but Holly was very entertaining. Holly gets the pin.

Paul London vs. Brian Kendrick (formerly known as Spanky, I believe) For some reason I forgot to jot down the winner her. Pretty sure Paul London won in a pretty entertaining match up.

Doug “The Bashman” Basham (I’m not making that up, that’s what it said on screen) vs. Michael Patrick (who came on while London was still making his exit. Oops!). Total squash match. Basham wins easily.

Super Crazy of the Mexicools vs. Nunzio (haven’t we seen that entrance video already?). Non-title match, which I’m pretty sure Super Crazy won. Crowd was into the Mexicools.

Did we really just have five matches on Velocity? How’d that happen?

Smackdown, from Jacksonville Veterans Memorial Arena

Heidenreich of LOD vs. Joey Mercury of MNM. Good match, crowd goes wild when LOD comes out, lots of LOD chants during the match. Heidenreich wins.

Dumb backstage scene with Teddy Long and one of the UPN Network guys. They bs for a bit and Network guy books Diva match for later in the show with Christy Hemme vs. Stacy Keibler. Stupid segment.

Cowboy Bob Orton comes out to introduce none other than Randy Orton. Randy comes out to decent applause to promote the Undertaker Retirement Fund. Randy says he’ll fight Rey Mysterio later in the show. Both Ortons leave.

Interesting segment with Benoit being interviewed backstage. Interviewer says how impressive Benoit’s 25.5 second win over Orlando Jordan was at SummerSlam. Benoit says he can do more than just wrestle in 25.5 seconds. Start the clock, Benoit pees and comes back out before the 25.5 are up. Then says he’ll beat O.J. again tonight.

Orlando Jordan vs. Chris Benoit. O. J. taps out at 23.4 secs. Perhaps the Chief of Staff needs a new job, what with JBL on Raw.

Ok, really weird angle. Stacy Keibler and Christy Hemme come out for Diva match. Bell rings, they move to start, when Sylvan Grenier’s music comes on. Sylvan comes out and says he’s a handsome dude. Hardcore Holly comes out, tells Sylvan that he, like all other guys in the arena, just wants to watch two hot chicks, and that Sylvan should exit the premises. Holly smacks Grenier, Grenier leaves. Then, Hardcore, Christy, and Stacey pose in the ring, and all three leave. Huh? Hardcore makes a save to ensure a match that doesn’t happen even though the network guy promised it would? What? I hope they cut this from Smackdown. Holly gets a nice pop, but the scene was just dumb. Take a pee break during this one, folks.

Christian’s entrance music on, he starts to come down to ring. This interrupted by us going backstage to more of Teddy Long and network guy, who are making matches for next week’s first Smackdown on Friday. JBL vs. Batista in a Bullrope match. Benoit vs. OJ again, LOD vs. MNM, and Eddie vs. Rey in a Steel cage match. (Is it me, but can’t they come up with anything else than bringing JBL back to a Smackdown show? Thought we’d gotten rid of him.) Long peeved when the network guy books matches without consulting him.

Back to Christian’s entrance as he walks down to join the announcers. One of the refs pretends to do a Flair strut, announcer tells him not to, crowd gives a few whoos just for the heck of it. This happens throughout the night.

Booker T. vs. Ken Kennedy. In a funny move, Kennedy takes the mic from the announcer and announces himself for the match. Not bad if I do say so myself, but then he says to Booker, Can You Dig THAT, sucka? Booker not too pleased. Audience was HOT for Booker T who had Sharmell by his side. Kennedy gets the win, when Christian distracts Booker.

Simon Dean comes out, hypes The Simon System sports drink. Says Batista himself uses The Simon System, that’s why he won the World Title. Enter Batista to thundering ovation. Batista says he honestly can’t remember whether he’s tried it, asks to try some. Simon gives him a drink. Batista pumps up a bit, tells Simon it works, he (Batista) feels stronger and more powerful. Also feels more aggressive, bell rings and Batista wipes the floor with Simon Dean. Towards the end Batista has a few more of The Simon System sports drink, which gives him the extra boost necessary to finish Simon off. This match and scene were absolutely hysterical, one of the funniest WWE scenes I’ve ever seen. This match alone was worth the price of admission! (After Batista leaves ring announcer asks for round of applause for Simon Dean – er?).

Paul Birchall and William Regal vs. Funaki and Scotty Too Hotty. Birchall and Regal win a pathetic match. This was painful to watch. Crowd into Scotty, could’ve cared less about the other three. This was total filler, and bad filler at that. Make this a definite bathroom break. Loudmouth guy in stands behind me yells out Boo this Brit! That got the biggest pop of the match!

Sadistic Eddie Guerrero promo. Eddie filmed behind a steel cage. Eddie talks about his wife betraying him, losing Dominic, in short Eddie’s lost everything. And it’s his own fault cause he gave Rey a chance to win. Next week in steel cage he won’t make that mistake again. Ends with asking Rey how you beat someone who has already lost everything?

Randy and Bob Orton come out. Randy vs. Rey in a long match. Orton pokes fun of Rey’s height. Couple of funny moments during the match, including Orton chasing Rey around the ring (unsuccessfully) and Rey doing Orton’s pose from the top rope. Cowboy Bob interferes a few times, Orton with the win.

Post-match (and presumably rest not shown on Smackdown) RKO takes mike and says Where’s Taker. Taker doesn’t show (unless I’m mistaken, wasn’t the main event for tonight advertised at Taker and Rey vs. Orton and Eddie? Or did I make that up? Taker a no show and Eddie gets a backstage scene. Interesting). Batista comes out to yet another thunderous ovation, and Batista and Orton get it on! Crowd solidly behind Batista, who wins to end the night in Jacksonville. Great match, several funny moments including Cowboy Bob falling backwards off the ring apron and Batista doing the chicken dance in the ring when RKO stepped out for a bit to get a hug from his daddy. Again, great match. Orton is fabulous in the ring, plays really well off the crowd and has great mic work. Batista poses for a bit to end the night.

Great crowd, decent booking, with the exception of the over-hyped yet non-existent Diva match and the boring Bertram/Regal vs. Funaki/Scotty match. Batista vs. Dean was unreal, as was Batista vs. RKO. All in all a good night of rasslin’ from Jacksonville.

Interesting note – I bought an official souvenir program, which has not been updated with the draft changes. That was how long ago?

well i think i kinda like it beter than last years holy..... atleast this year you hear the sh....

I just played the best match ever out of all the wrestling games I ever played. It was Undertaker (me) vs Mankind (cpu) in a Hell in the Cell match. First thing I did was throw him out of the ring and started to throw him into the cell wall to break a hole in it. As soon as I did, I climbed the cell and he followed me. As soon as he got to the top, I quicklly threw him close to the edge of the cell and I chokeslammed him off the cell! Crowd started a "Holy Shhh" chant. Climbed down, picked him up and made him climb up the cell again. Positioned him in the middle of the cell and did some moves onto him to weaken the cell. Then tombstoned him onto the weakest part and it broke though!

Pinned him with the trademark Undertaker pin but he barely kicked out at 2! Picked him up and gave him a chokeslam and another tombstone. Did the trademark Undertaker pin again and AGAIN he kicked out at 2. Picked him up once more and delivered a 3rd tombstone onto him. This time I did a regular pin onto him and won 1-2-3. When it was all over, he was a bloody mess in the face area and his shirt had little bloodstains everywhere.

what you think about the story mode...sure i was spoiled with wm21's story mode and its hard to get used to text based again...but i think its pretty cool...especially when u know the story of dor1...

Thanks for the info Guyver, I just need to check the schedule to make sure it's not a home Bills game the 18th. General seating is $25 + all the fees. I remember getting to see ECW events for like $10, but then spent more money on a shirt and other stuff almost every time. Even a bright green FBI shirt seemed like a good idea at one time.#-o
