Ridiculously Overpriced Items You've Come Across

Sounds like the FYE's near me, cept for the occasional good deal like 12.99 for pokemon pinball r/s a couple years back.

like someone mentioned before, LoZ Collectors Edition (which came free with the cube back then) or 1 penny at target..74.99 USED! Back then i over heard a EB employee tell a customer when asked why was it so much? The EB employee said "that's cause your getting all those games, and most of them, if you bought them by themselves would cost you 50 bucks each!, so it's actually a great deal!" uh huh..

a battery for one of my older 2mp kodak camera from a store in Time Square , NYC....80 dollars!! :O on Kodak's site, 25 dollars.

360 face plates...20 dollars for a piece of plastic! yikes.

and get this...

Resident Evil Zero, USED at Microcenter for 43.99!!!! wow what a DEAL!! :=\
went to an fye out of town yesterday and there prices were outrageous

about 85% of their games were retail price (even if they had a gh/ph/pc label) plus $3 for some odd reason

now that was messed up
I maintain that fye's business model is to keep an item overpriced until it's out of print and then people will buy it because they can't find it elsewhere.

i saw a perfect used copy Panzer Dragoon Saga at an electronics boutique in Portland for $35 a few years after it came out, when all saturn games were about $.99

Couldn't believe they were charging that much for a freakin' saturn game. Still kick myself....
A few off the top of my head:

-Go Go Hypergrind for Gamecube, $44.99 used at FYE. This was sometime in 2005, and even back then the game was going for around $10 used at GameStop.

fye is known for this. i think they probably do not have price protection thats why they always leave the prices for games at release prices.

the most expensive thing i probably seen were these at gamestop:

- Odama brand new for $49.99 (i was there last week when i was shocked to see this). i asked how much the trade in value for the game? $3 and it must have the microphone. gotta love GS/EB!

- Marvel Vs. Capcom 2 for $69.99. i guess it came to a point where they just want the game as a show piece since nobody will buy it at that price.

Final Fantasy VII while the movie hype was at it's peak.

1.) Regardless of how many people liked the game FF III (U.S.) kicked it's ass just like an older brother should.

2.) The game sold millions of copies and was all of the sudden rare.

3.) Looking back the graphics made the game almost unplayable.

4.) If you bought one of my $100 dollar copies on ebay you should stick your head in the toilet because you got shit on anyways.
