I am so demoralized from all the erotic comics that a subject of incest isn't taboo to me.

A relationship between a man and bigfoot, that would be taboo.

Haha, that's hilarious!

Well, I don't know what you're erotic comics are like, but Koi Kaze is portrayed sincerely — it's not obnoxious or voluptuous.

Watch Nana if you haven't already done so.

People have been suggesting Nana for a while, and I am interested in watching it, but I just don't have the time or the money to invest in this series. Recently, I got Baccano! as a gift and I haven't seen it yet.

I never understood the obsession and fascination over "erotic" comics/hentai, then again some people are into people pooping on people so to each to own

ill stick real naked girls :bouncy:

also is evangelion worth it? the cheapest i can find a complete set new is there for like 40$ the christmas bundle or something stupid like that, seems like they release ALOT of box sets.

Well, you could either wait years for the Rebuild of Evangelion to be done (since that's suppose to the preferred version to watch)...or you could just jump right in to the TV series and be utterly appalled by how it ended.

But yea, I would say the Evangelion TV series is worth a look.

Yeah, but the end of the TV series doesn't soil everything that happened before it, and he could watch The End of Evangelion, an alternate ending, which is better than the original ending.

To be honest, I actually liked the ending of TV series. I know most people don't, however.

As for the movie (which at this point is OOS), it may be a definite ending, but I wouldn't call it better.

Yeah, being out of print does suck (and it looks like it's gotten more expensive since the last time I looked it up). Also, The End of Evangelion being a more definite ending is the reason why I liked it better than the original ending.

I prefer the tv end. It ties up well the psychological issues of the series if not the plot point issues. Movie just adds more explosions and blood/death with a similar message and progression.

I just noticed that Moribito has a complete collection on Right Stuf now, and it is currently a part of the weekly specials for only $20. Yes, only $20! Why haven't you bought it yet!? You should already have this in your hands right now; that's how good of a deal this is!

Moribito: you must buy this now!

Pretty much. Moribito is fucking amazing, and I jumped on it as soon as I saw it at this price.

New system:
2 $25 boxsets+ 40% pre-applied= $30... but no free shipping becuase you didn't hit $50.

I guess my issue is this "40%" off thing... other than the weekly deals... Oh wait... you're saying they pre-apply the auto-discount (featured in the newsletter emails), forcing you to buy more to get the FREE SHIP. I get it... I thought you were referring to those coupons from being a "GotAnime" member!

I was just thinking about your query today, before I even read this post. I think I have the answer: erotic manga is just more creative. When there's no limit to what you can have your "actors" do, you get all sorts of funky, cool setups. Cat-women, tentacles, cosplay, etc. I don't personally get how anyone could stick to "real naked girls" without getting bored with all the same-same porn out there. Or to put it more simply: "Variety is the spice of life."

Never heard of the series... I saw some clips on YouTube just now... the animation looks SUPERB. I might watch a few episodes and give it a shot.

Except, I should say... I'm not a fan of ancient/rural Japan animes... :whistle2:#
Holy fuck breasts testicles, Morbito for 20, eh? But is this the shitty packaging for the Complete Collection Walmart had?
It is the one that Wal-mart had (if you look at the cover art). Therefore expect STACKpak packaging.
WTK is right, if you buy Moribito from the link Razzuel has posted then you can expect a stackpack.
For $20, I'm willing to let that slide. I'll just replace the case.

The DVD packaging nowadays is getting cheaper and less manageable. Slim cases seem to be the best of both worlds (costs little to manufacture and takes little space), so why are those being mostly ignored?
For $20, I'm willing to let that slide. I'll just replace the case.
That's what I did! Couldn't match the case size excactly, though...

side-by-side before replacement
Spine
Front
back
Discs
And finally, The guy on Ebay I bought the case from.

The case feels thin, and I'm not crazy about the hubs, but it is pretty study despite the thiness, and hold the discs nice and secure. Can't say I'm unhappy with it. :D

as I mentioned before, I too hate slim designs. a lot of them lose their inserts (booklets) and other extras that the regular dvd size comes with. I can't stand owning a Gundam series from Anime Legends with just discs and one front/back cover art for the whole box or Fate Stay Night slim from Geneon which by the way I do own both. To have so little along with the discs is pretty much just as good as downloading it to watch and keep (illegal and not suggested).

the matter of fact is, to me, it feels incomplete. if your a collector like I am, you'd want as much goodies as possible and if you just want to own it, then I guess you could just go with the slim being its cheaper to buy or even go with cheapy imports.

again, this is just one man's opinion

Kannagi arrived today. The box is twice as thick as a standard dvd so I thought there might be some nice insert or little extra included... It's two standard dvd cases each with just the disc inside and nothing else (the cases even include the little holder thing like what games use for the manual, but there's nothing there). It's such a waste of space, Bandai easily could have fit both dvd's in a single standard case or used thinpacks.

All of the Funi stuff I've received recently has been thinpacks, I'm happy Funi knows the pain of storing a large anime collection.
Except, I should say... I'm not a fan of ancient/rural Japan animes... :whistle2:#
Wait! Moribito isn't set in ancient/rural Japan; Moribito is set in a fantasy world.
For $20, I'm willing to let that slide. I'll just replace the case.
Exactly. If anyone here doesn't buy it because of the packaging, then you should be ashamed of yourself.

Kannagi was first released as two separate DVDs. The complete collection just takes the two separate DVDs that Bandai already made, and puts them in a cardboard sleeve. It makes complete sense, since they can still use the DVDs they already have in stock, and it barely changes the manufacturing process.

I prefer thin and regular dvd size cases over those stackpacks. Is there a website that you can use to look up whether or not an anime set is thinpak, regular DVD or stackpack?

^^^ I wanted to ask that too... anyone care to share or search? thinpack or regular dvd or stackpack anime info site would be appreciated. then we wouldn't have to discuss why what the hell we just bought that we thought we bought ...I'm probably not making any sense here?!

A bit of a dilemma. I want Morbito and free shipping (so I'd probably do 30 dollars worth of Blind Buys) But I've already done one order of Blind Buys, so I'd be concerned that I'd get duplicate stuff. I already emailed support and they can't promise that I wouldn't get duplicates. Anyone go back for seconds on the 5 and 10 dollar blind buys? How did it work out?
I agree I think the $10 and below blind boxes are better deals. I was somewhat happy with my $25 blind box, but not impressed with it.

Does anyone think that most of the the items sent for these blind boxes will eventually be showing up in the daily deals regularly?
Between myself and my roommate, I've ordered 8 $10 blind boxes on my account over 4 orders, and the only duplicate I got was two Abenobashi tins in the first two orders. Sadly those were in the 4 that were mine, but I've happily traded it away already at least. CAG, Goozex, or Amazon marketplace are your friends for duplicates or things you don't want.

I decided to buy some of Vertical's products. Here's what I bought:

 • 7 Billion Needles Graphic Novel 1
 • 7 Billion Needles Graphic Novel 2
 • Chi's Sweet Home Graphic Novel 1
 • Chi's Sweet Home Graphic Novel 2
 • Chi's Sweet Home Graphic Novel 3
 • Chi's Sweet Home Graphic Novel 4
 • Twin Spica Graphic Novel 1
 • Twin Spica Graphic Novel 2
 • Twin Spica Graphic Novel 3
 • Twin Spica Graphic Novel 4
I'm most excited for 7 Billion Needles, though it's the one I know the least about.

Off topic, but how much is the first season of Yu-Gi-Oh worth? It's 6 discs, 49 episodes. I'm positive it's not a bootleg, just really old. I found it in a pawn shop. I can't find it on Ebay.

Wow! Why so much? The first listing on Amazon is missing a disc... next listing is 149.99 for used. :O

Also ordered Morbito. Good looks to whoever told posted that earlier.

EDIT: Apparently this Yu-Gi-Oh set came in a tin. I don't have the tin. =( I found ebay listings, looks like there's a BIN for 69.99. Still debating whether or not I should sell this. Are these episodes edited or are they the JP versions?

Well I took the suggestions from Raz and G-Nitro and got Chi's Sweet Home , 7 Billion Needles , Peepo Choo and Twin Spica , all Vol.1. I also grabbed Moribito which just put me over the $50 shipping amount.:)

As for Yugioh , I remember seeing that Season 1 tin set long ago for anywhere from $50-$100. Never got it since I didn't want to get an edited and dub only set (unless it was dirt cheap) but it still surprises me that 4kids would let almost anything yugioh go OOP (or not print much to start with). I guess because it was a "higher end" collector's set. Still have my 3 single uncut volumes from a few years ago , even though I know 4kids will never release the rest of the series uncut. :(

Damn you all, order placed:

Heat Guy J DVD Super Bargain Bundle- $20
Koi Kaze DVD Bargain Bundle- $15
Moribito: Guardian of the Spirit DVD Complete Collection- $20

Those are all pretty great deals, thank you guys. I'm also taking DuelLadyS's suggestion on that eBay case for Moribito.

Good thing Haruhi was delayed a month, I can't keep buying this much anime :p

those yugioh prices are ridiculous. I remember searching for them on ebay and was appalled at the prices lol.

Anyone on the fence with Moribito, you should go ahead and just get it. A very good series for sure.

Also anyone looking for cheap anime please "cml" right now. I'm selling a bunch in an auction that will end this sunday.

It sucks that CMX is now out of business. I've been meaning to buy the entire Emma collection, but now a couple of manga are not easy to find. I didn't even know manga volumes can be discontinued so quickly.

That's what happened to Alita: Last Order vol. 7, and now it's one of the rarest volumes to buy. Why is Viz not showing the love to re-stock their older volumes?

That's news to me. Wasn't CMX the offshoot of DC Comics that butchered Tenjo Tenje (sp?) and possibly other manga , or am I thinking of something else?

You know, Razzuel, I don't like the way you've been yelling at everyone in this thread. And how your post made me want to buy Morbito, and now this.

Damn it, I'm probably going to get this. Any confirmations it is must own?

Aww, don't interpret it as yelling; I'm merely expressing my excitement.

Also, it is a must-own.
