Sometimes those slipcovers were only including on the first pressing or something. It's not TRSI's fault that you didn't get a slipcover.
Oh, I know- but it's still annoying to see that one disc with a different spine than the others becuase of the lack of slipcover.
My Chavelier D'eon vol 5 didn't come with the slipcover either- it is rather vexing. (I'd actually buy that thing from someone. Seriously. The boxset looks weird without it.)
Same thing happened to me with vol. 5 and if I ever see it with a slipcover I'm buying it again.

I believe that Chevalier D'eon was one of those first print slipcovers but did ADV have Chevalier D'eon long enough for a second print? Sometimes I get the feeling that TRSI reseals some of their dvds, anybody else get that feeling?

I definitely do. I've had some shoddily sealed stuff from those guys.

I think it's someone else in the supply chain doing the re-sealing before TRSI gets it- but yeah, sometimes you get some pretty gnarly wrap-jobs from TRSI.
Yeah, one of my Gankutsuou DVDs arrived without the plastic wrap. I guess they must have forgotten to re-seal it.
That happened to me with vol. 2.

Rub it in, why don't you, heh. I don't think it was in stock at $30 for very long though because I was looking to get Last Exile for a while, and didn't notice it until after it had gone out of stock.

$30 for the series is still pretty good though. The weekly specials are disappointing this week. They don't seem to have changed much from last week... Romeo x Juliet Part 1 for $35 isn't too bad I guess, since it just came out recently.

I don't feel like bumping the dead thread for this so I'll just mention it here.... You guys remember the 50% off Best Buy sale from a few months ago? Is it just my store or did the anime section eventually grow back to normal? I went to the store that had the sale here and the anime section is still rather full. Now it's on 2 rack sections instead of 3, but everythings more bunched together, where as before it was very spread out. It seems like if they wanted to considerably downsize the section, the sale should have lasted longer...

Same here. The section went from two shelves to 1 1/2, but now they're all spine-out instead of spread out.
Does anyone know if this artbox contains the same LE items that come in this collection?

It doesn't.

Tis a shame that $30 set sold out. That was a FANTASTIC deal.
I bought all the volumes individually last summer-ish when all the volumes went to ~$7, and I got at least that figure with the artbox+vol1. I can't remember if I got the mouse pad or not.

That sucks, looks like I'll just keep checking if it comes back in stock.

Edit: Great just checked it and it's no longer available.

Pretty sure you got

 • Last Exile DVD 1 (Hyb): First Move + Artbox + Limited Extra
And not
Last Exile DVD 1 (Hyb): First Move + Artbox

I got my Suzuka Boxset and Black Lagoon Second Barrage in the mail today. The first season of Black Lagoon was backordered, so I guess I'll have to wait before starting the series up.

I also received the Hellsing Messenger Bag, and I'm surprised at how nice it is. I can definitely use it for a lot of things, as the design is more subtle and not overtly anime-y. I wish it didn't have velcro, but that's nitpicking.

^^Well, the bag is listed at $40/30. I know if I actually bought it and it was crap, I'd be pretty pissed. Which makes me really surprised that they are offering this in the sale to begin with...

Same. I think the point of the sale was to get rid of old crap and only start buying the newest and hottest in anime.

Luckily, i got the figure and mousepad during a lowball sale, so once i order the set, it'll be like i ordered the Limited Edition set :).

Looks like Gungrave is being rereleased, which is awesome, since i loved that series to death.
Wow, no new sale means this thread kinda... dies.
You must have checked it at the wrong time , like i did a few weeks ago.

New sale : Bandai Entertainment , 40% off Dvds and Blu-Rays , 33% off cds , books and other merchandise. Sale good through the 16.

http://www.rightstuf.com/rssite/main/news/individual/?ForumThreadName=FT0000001053&ReturnTo=Main

I'll update the OP to reflect the new sale hopefully by wednesday. Today is the last day though for anyone who still wants anything from the previous Geneon sale.

Things i'm considering:

Code Geass Part X (including Season 2 part 1): $24
Freedom Box Set: $24
Gurren Lagaan Part X: $24
Mobile Suit Gundam 00 Season X Part X: $24
Mars Daybreak: $4 per volume
Melancholy of Haruhi: $35 before sale (i already have it, but you should buy it ;))

Not too bad a sale. I'm really eyeing those parts of Code Geass, Gurrren Lagaan, and Gundam, $24 apiece.

Already ordered MoHS Vol. 1 LE and Lucky Star OVA. I was going to order Code Geass S1 P3 and True Tears but I figured I could get them cheaper during the Deep Discount sale(whenever it actually starts)
You must have checked it at the wrong time , like i did a few weeks ago.
Actually, I didn't even mean it like that. I meant that when there isn't a new sale every 3 days, the thread sort of dies. It's less work for out almighty OP, but there really isn't much to talk about if the same stuff is on sale. Especially with this new Bandai sale. Do we really have 10 days worth of Bandai convo in us?

I'm probably going to get Gundam 00 Part 2 LE and the Lucky Star OVA. I might also grab some manga and light novels. I think I can wait until the next Bandai Sale for Code Geass and Hayate.

I picked up Escaflowne, Gundam 08th MS Team, Gundam 00 LE Part 1 and 2, Gundam 0080, Lucky Star OVA, Lucky Star Graphic Novel 2, Gundam Zeta Part 1 and 2, Eureka Seven soundtracks, and the Gundam Movie Pack.

Also got the Samurai Champloo complete collection today from RightStuf, they come in 7 thinpaks instead of a brick/stackpack if anyone was wondering.

Last time there was a Bandai sale I pre-ordered the FLAG boxset and the release got cancelled. Fail.

Also, the other titles I did order took over a month to ship.
Also, the other titles I did order took over a month to ship.
Which ones? I know a few got pushed back because Bandai ran into a few problems.

Ordered:

1 of Code Geass: Lelouch of the Rebellion DVD Part 3 (Hyb)
1 of Code Geass: Lelouch of the Rebellion R2 DVD Part 1 (Hyb)
1 of Desert Punk DVD 1 (Hyb): Enter the Desert + Artbox
1 of Desert Punk DVD 2 (Hyb): The Desert Duo
1 of Desert Punk DVD 5 (Hyb): Under the Desert
1 of Desert Punk DVD 6 (Hyb): Death of the Desert
1 of Got Anime? Purchasing Club Membership
1 of Last Exile DVD 1 (Hyb): First Move + Artbox
1 of Last Exile DVD 2 (Hyb): Positional Play
1 of Last Exile DVD 3 (Hyb): Discovered Attack
1 of Last Exile DVD 4 (Hyb): Breakthrough
1 of Last Exile DVD 5 (Hyb): Grand Stream
1 of Last Exile DVD 6 (Hyb): Queen Delphine
1 of Last Exile DVD 7 (Hyb): Sealed Move
1 of Last Exile DVD/CD Combo Box Pack (Hyb)

Code Geass: Lelouch of the Rebellion R2 DVD Part 1 (Hyb)

Is "R2" a second story arc? I have the LE box sets 1 and 2. I was going to buy LE 3...Is this one basically LE 4?

It's a long name for season 2. I'm almost 100% certain it's a direct continuation, like FMA season 1 to 2.
It's a long name for season 2. I'm almost 100% certain it's a direct continuation, like FMA season 1 to 2.
Lelouch R2 is the 2nd half of the story. It is a DIRECT continuation after the end of the 1st series.

 Your right I did completely misinterpret you.

Although you make a good point about conversation , inversely we often have the opposite problem. When the 3 day sales are for "no-name" companies or products (no disrespect intended for said companies or products) then nobody has anything to say about them anyway. It worked out kinda funny that for those 2 weeks where there was like four or five 3 day sales in a row , that they were all for somewhat larger companies like Manga Entertainment.

So far I just ordered Escaflowne: The Movie(Bluray), Gundam 00 Season Part 2 LE and The Lucky Star OVA. I'm think about grabinf some manga(After I get my next check) and Code Geass R2 Part 1 LE. But the LE for that looks lacking at the moment(It says it only comnes with Vol 4 of the manga) so I'm not so sure.

I'm really hoping that we see another Funimation sale soon. I was just looking through the Bluray movies and saw Full Metal Panic! The Second Raid will be out in August... Then again it seems Amazon has the better deal.

I picked up Code Geass R2 paet 1 LE (what can I say, I'm asucker for LEs), the .hack//G.U. trilogy, and Hayate the Combat Butler part 1. In retrospect, I should've ordered the Leouch of the Rebellion manga part 3 since the LEs so far will/have included volumes 1, 2 and 4. Oh well, I'll pick up 3 somewhere.
So what exactly is the .hack//GU trilogy? Was that the movie thing they did from the game footage?
Correct. A movie which is missing a large portion of the cutscenes, even.
Which ones? I know a few got pushed back because Bandai ran into a few problems.
My original order:

Oddly enough, X TV 8 was the only one with a slipcover.

Also, Legend of Black Heaven is 19.99 only the weekly sale. Any thoughts?
Ai Yori Aoshi DVDs are $5 each too. Kinda tempted; I've heard good things. Anyone here seen this?
I thought the series was decent. I can definitely recommend getting a few DVDs at 5$ a pop.

I really enjoyed Ai Yori Aoshi. One of the better harem type shows out there with really likable charachters. The biggest negative about the series is some people found the relationship of the main girl to be a bit derogatory towards women.

She was raised in an old fashioned household very traditionally, and in japan that meant that the women were subservient to the men. Nothing major in the show just stuff like her always cooking, cleaning, etc for him.

Still I highly suggest it. Here is a good review on it.

http://www.animenewsnetwork.com/review/ai-yori-aoshi/dvd-brick-set

I have to disagree whole-heartedly on Ai Yori Aoshi. Being the pervy romantic I am, I was drawn to it with high hopes, but those were dashed away with the first DVD that I netflixed. Maybe it was the characters not giving me a good reason to cheer for them, or it could've been because I found a character on each vocal track that I absolutely could not stand to listen to (high-pitched Ai on the Japanese track, the overtly southern blonde girl on the English track fyi, if I remember right it was five times worse than Mai-HiME's Shizuru). Honestly it reminded me of Love Hina in regards to the apathy it left me with for its characters.

So I'd recommend you preview the first episode or three to see if I'm just a crazy loner on this.

Wow, thanks for this. If you even have to mention Love Hina, i won't even bother.

Still marginally better than Suzuka. ;)

Ehh its about the exact OPPOSITE of Lova Hina. Charachters are rational, realistic, and are easy to understand. I personally like the dub in Ai Yori Aoshi. The voices are done quite well and are accurate to both their japanese counterparts and their original voice actors.

I know people didn't like Shizuru's southern accent in My-Hime but its actually accurate as far as the dialect her japanese counterpart used. A southern drawl is a failry close aproximation of it.

Also FYI - Ai Yori Aoshi gets A's and B's from ANN. Love Hina Gets C's and D's.

Honestly i'd say check out Ai Yori Aoshi. Worst case if you don't like it you can flip it for your money back without too much hassle. The relationships between the 2 main charachters are about the exact opposite of Love Hina's. There are genuine feelings involved.
