Ah, didn't know you were talking about the DVD version.

And yes, the blu version was $7.99 when it went up initially, and the the next morning it went out of stock, and up in price.

I think they actually replaced the blu version with the DVD version since the blu went oos really fast, either that or it was a price mistake to begin with, and they meant to put up the DVD version instead, because only the blu was listed on the sale list when it went up. XD

Well that sucks. But I haven't keeping with the Rightstuf sale and I didn't feel like impulse buying stuff. LOL. So that is on me

I ordered the blu while it was $7.99 and in stock. But now I just check my order status and it's showing oos. Actually 3 out of 4 items I ordered were oos. Well, I hope they save one of each copy for me.

Not sure if anyone confirmed but I think there will be 21 days of deals altogether. The "KLUES" for their $250 gift card drawing indicate three categories of seven things. *shrug* Just my speculation. I reached out to RS on Twitter to confirm myself.

One thing I'm waiting to see if it goes on sale is the Tenchi OVA on Blu since I sold my DVD copies years ago knowing the upgrade was out and legitimate. Would also be nice if Hibike Euphonium goes on sale too.

you go to the social media and it typically has one of the klues and says something about how they couldn't have done it. Here is an example from Facebook:

Klue Elimination #4: Kaneki - Tokyo Ghoul
On the day Santa Kleckner's disappearance, Kaneki had volunteered to work a double shift at the coffee shop and didn't get off until later in the day. How could Kaneki have time to stage a kidnapping?
That's right. He didn't.

Rightstuf sales ain't what it used to be. Direct publisher sales like that cuh-razy sentai sale blew it out of the water.

That said, this is still a super important thread since it's the best way to track anime prices. I always look at past rightstuf holiday sale threads before buying anime during the regular year to see what prices they've dropped to in the past.

Most of the posts were in the Anime Deals thread, so this is really just an archive thread, which was pretty much as intended.

But yeah, the sales were so shitty, and boring this year, even if the conversation was here, it would've just been talking about how bad it was, like what happened in the Anime Deals thread, lol.

So maybe a little bit of happy, and mostly sad, as that pretty much explained the sale this year. :p

Sentai was the surprise this year.

Funi sales since a couple years back has been so-so since then. Certainly that first year Funi decided to push out their own store sale was just awesome. I bought a ton then. Just been a steady decline since then, but still, not awful.

Hoping Sentai will not follow suit with the Funi pattern of decreasingly bad sales.

Sentai was the surprise this year.

Funi sales since a couple years back has been so-so since then. Certainly that first year Funi decided to push out their own store sale was just awesome. I bought a ton then. Just been a steady decline since then, but still, not awful.

Hoping Sentai will not follow suit with the Funi pattern of decreasingly bad sales.

even still i found crap to spend money on....but probably because i don't buy from them all year round in ridiculous amounts like some people....

I definitely don't buy from sites like Funimation and Rightstuf very often - frankly, may be 1-2 times a year, so I thought the sales were fine. I was able to pick up some anime I've been meaning to watch.
