As Gojimaster said, I've heard a ton of good stuff about the YouRock guitar and it's a lot cheaper than the Squier. Bad thing is that as much as it emulates a real guitar and actually adds in tons of features...it's not a real guitar. The fact that there's no strings up the neck means you'll have some adjusting to do if you pick up a real one.[/QUOTE]
This actually is only partially true. The neck has little nylon strings that are fixed in place and run down the entire neck. The strings are there to help one locate where there fingers should be. I've been a guitarist for over 10 years and it is a very easy transition to switch back and forth between the YouRock guitar. The only only thing that one can't do on the YouRock guitar is bend the strings... but one can still do slides, hammer-ons, pull-offs, fret-tapping and all the other techniques. the You Rock is pretty much a real guitar in my eyes. It is actually really nice to have this guitar, even for experienced guitarists, because of all the midi-functionality.
