Rock Band 3 MIDI Pro Adaptor - $24.99 (any console) - Amazon VGDOTD

Great price on these, especially the 360 version which has been in very short supply up until a couple weeks ago. Works fantastic with Rock Band 3!

I don't have any MIDI instruments.

Now would seem a good time for Amazon to have a half-off lightning deal on the Fender Squier. Just saying. (Although the comments say it's a Best Buy exclusive.)

Don't forget to pick up a MIDI cable, too - the adapter doesn't come with one. It'll help you get that free Super Saver shipping, too.

Didn't think we'd see this for a deal of the day, good job Amazon. Already got my 360 one though. Works just fine with RB3 with my beginner 61 key Casio LK-110 keyboard from Costco.

You should buy this immediately. They were out of stock for several months. I bought one over a month ago at madkatz for $35.00 with free shipping and thought it was a great deal. $25 is a ridiculously good price.

I highly recommend the You Rock guitar, www.yourockguitar.com, as the guitar for this game. RB3 is SUPER fun with the you rock guitar... I've actually not had so much fun playing a game in a long time. The nice thing about the yourock guitar is that can also be plugged into PC applications like Garage Band. It can double as a synthesizer and plays tons of different sounds. This guitar sounds a lot better than a $200 guitar. The Squier guitar is far more expensive and if you go to the rockband.com forums there are literally dozens of threads with people complaining about not being able to get the Squier working correctly. I had the yourock guitar plugged into RB3 and fully working in less than 10 minutes.

The yourock is expensive, but they sell it on amazon. Sell a lot of your old books and games like I did and you have it paid off pretty quick.

They almost always have them in stock at my local BB...

And I thought the Squier guitars were only a BB exclusive for a certain amount of time? It would be pretty damn stupid if it was an exclusive forever.

As Gojimaster said, I've heard a ton of good stuff about the YouRock guitar and it's a lot cheaper than the Squier. Bad thing is that as much as it emulates a real guitar and actually adds in tons of features...it's not a real guitar. The fact that there's no strings up the neck means you'll have some adjusting to do if you pick up a real one.

Question: Is this also the device I'd want to buy if I might want to use my RB3 keyboard as a MIDI controller for my PC? I know it works the one way, but does it work the other?

This actually is only partially true. The neck has little nylon strings that are fixed in place and run down the entire neck. The strings are there to help one locate where there fingers should be. I've been a guitarist for over 10 years and it is a very easy transition to switch back and forth between the YouRock guitar. The only only thing that one can't do on the YouRock guitar is bend the strings... but one can still do slides, hammer-ons, pull-offs, fret-tapping and all the other techniques. the You Rock is pretty much a real guitar in my eyes. It is actually really nice to have this guitar, even for experienced guitarists, because of all the midi-functionality.

I almost posted the squier on amazon as a deal last week....but since i sometimes Deal Police threads i decided not to

The Rock Band Squier guitar is now available on amazon thru 3rd party sellers at MSRP of $279.99 shipped. Music123 and Musicians Friend are the sellers, they are major music retailers. A deal for those that hate bestbuy and want to save a few bucks on tax.

Well, it's a MIDI adapter for your XBOX360 or PS3. It would need Windows or Macintosh drivers in order to function properly on a computer. I don't know of any drivers available to make that work.

Just my luck. I bought one a couple months ago for $40 and still haven't opened it. This is the cheapest I've ever seen the midi adapters alone.
