Hmm. It's going to be the same for 1-day or in-store with tax for me. I guess it depends how anxious I get about this game! With Thanksgiving going on... I think I can wait because I'll be too busy dealing with that stuff.

I had to change my shipping method and then the date updated to the 20th. Then you can switch back to your original method if you want.

Mine may have said that until I went and actually "edited" an attribute of my order (shipping for example). So try editing something about your order and see if that updates it.

On a slightly unrelated note. Even if i did order this, I dont think I could make a "band" even if i tried. I dont know that many video game players >_

i think i might get the 1 month free amazon prime.. and do overnight shipping for 4 dollars.... that way i can play over thanksgiving break

EDIT: if i do super saving free shipping... when can i expect it to come.. will it really take 5-9 days?
 
During the Wii launch, Amazon actually did ship the systems with free shipping first to try to time it out so that they came roughly at launch (then shipped 2-day units on Thursday and overnight on Friday). I know a system launch is different, but they obviously "get" Rock Band is in high demand and might do the same.

That said, I wish I knew, I'd probably pay the bill for faster shipping to have it over the long weekend... but so many times they ship UPS ground which gets to me overnight due to a close warehouse I dunno what to do.
 
the free shipping has been kind to me. only 2 to 4 days with 3 day average.


and i just hit one-click preorder on amazon with cheapdy's link so he get a few more change from me.
 
your turnaround time with super saver mainly calculates based on how much is shipped, what time the order is placed (or made available) So it can vary between being fast or slow depending on the cycle you hit.

With that being said, the best solution is to get Amazon prime and share it with 3 friends.

Nah I think it would be the same, but Amazon has always been hard to tell what the ratio since it is usually based on sales that hour or so. I think people are still waiting for user opinions about the game.
 
So is there a good chance that since there's so many pre-orders that there will be a delay in the shipping time for some people? I pre-ordered over a month ago so if this happens to me I'll be kind of pissed.

Yeah, he gets commission off of a lot of the sites. You have to figure that since this is $170 he's making a crapload, even if the commission is a small percentage.

Whenever I enter my Amazon account, the Rock Band ship date gets updated several times for my "approval." It's... odd.

A word about the amazon prime - I had the trial that ended about a month ago; I went into my rock band collection order during the trial (ordered on 23 July, a month or so BEFORE I tried the amazon prime trial) and upgraded to overnight shipping for $3.99. Prime trial ended and my order still shows overnight shipping for $3.99 - seems the secret is to change your shipping method before the trial ends, at least that is how it appears.
 
Been sitting on my 360 preorder since August. I also had the PS3 version preordered, but I dropped it. All things being reasonably equal, the 360 makes more sense.

I'll already have the 360 GH3 guitar.

Suffering with a wired guitar doesn't seem that bad compared to the benefits. It sucks that we have to make these kind of choices as gamers, but I guess that's where we are now.
 
I pre-ordered RB through this link vand if buying games with your link is all I have to do to support the site, definitely post these links. I think you should have a convenient 'pre-order for CAG link/thread' with an updated list of Amazon or wherever the best deal (either money or premiums or shipping deals) to pre-order is links. CAGs could check it everytime we wanted to buy a game.

The PS2 version just popped up on the CAG-O-Matic today, not as a price drop but as a new item. Not sure if that means Amazon just added it to their site or what. Here's the link:

Probably a good idea to add this link to the OP. The PS2 version is $10 cheaper than the other versions.

As for me, I'm waiting for the Wii version, which thankfully isn't coming out this Xmas cuz I'm already broke enough as it is.

Just letting you guys know that Best Buy should be setting up Rockband for people to play (at least mine did). Check your local big Best Buy (the stores that did the Halo 3 midnight launch should have it )

Wow, I am amazed. Great that everyone is getting their pre orders, although I really cant comprehend why this game is selling so well. Then again I don't understand Guitar Hero either. hehe.

nah, when I was waiting at CS for the guy to come bring my Heroes boxset from wharehouse, I saw a guy playing it and planned on trying it out after I got my boxset. It took forever for the guy helping me out to find it and when everything was done, I went over to try it, but there was a crowd of people around it and I said screw it.
 
Since I don't want another wired guitar, and can wait until next year for the drums.... Is the game itself going to be hard to find, or just the bundle?
