and Cambria

fuck yea I voted for Oasis this week awesome

Oh shit...I forgot that I said I would tell you how the Wood Rock pedal is when I got it.

Well I got it last week and it is awesome. It was relatively easy to install (the only hard parts being removing the magnet and the rubber bumpers). Oh and if you get a Wood Rock pedal. Please for the love of god only tighten the screws until they are snug.

Yeah it works great and feels great too. It is really smooth and lightweight. I was able to change my bass pedal technique from heel down to heel up because of the Wood Rock pedal. I have much more control using the wood rock pedal and playing heel up. Before if I tried to play heel up on the regular pedal I thought I might break it so I played it safe. No subconcious worrying now because this thing is strong and sturdy.

The only problem I have which has to deal with the bass pedal design itself (not the Wood Rock pedal) is that there is not a lot of room for pushing the pedal down. Long bass drum sections such as in Limelight by Rush become difficult to maintain rhythm because I might not lift the pedal high enough for the circuit to reopen. If anyone has any tips I'd appreciate it.

does any one no how to get the dlc for free can torrents be used or something in that nature? i havent bought music in like 10 years and i really dont want to start...

I would Kill for Tool on Rock Band. I'm not exaggerating. That's not a joke. I would fucking kill for Tool tracks to be on Rock Band.
I would Kill for Journey, SO STOP CROSSING IT OUT.

But seriously, the article is a great read, the best part of it IMHO is:

By year's end, there will be hundreds of songs available for download. Every song is integrated into Rock Band, so that DLC is equal in all respects to the songs that come on the original disc. With so many songs available, it puts into question the validity of even releasing a sequel. DeGooyer acknowledged the dilemma, stating that the proliferation of downloadable content "changes the approach [for a sequel] from one that's purely about new music to one that's about new features." That suggests that if/when there is a sequel to Rock Band, previously downloaded content may carry over.

Absolutely, I would give the entire Harmonix team a hug if they did that.
Kudos! Quite the relief, huh? :)
Yea it is. I've tried that song so many times and I'm so happy it's finally over. It was a pretty epic victory too. At the end part where it's a quick combo of orange/blue/yellow I took my right hand and slid my pointer finger across the solo frets as fast as I could and hit almost every note :bouncy:

I would also KILL for Journey. Any of the following would suffice:

- Only the Young
- Don't Stop Believin'
- Wheel In The Sky
- Any Way You Want It
- Ask The Lonely
- Who's Crying Now?
- Separate Ways
- Lovin', Touchin', Squeezin'
- Girl Can't Help It
- Be Good To Yourself

Me too. They should just release their albums.

Good point on the Foreigner. I missed some of the early DLC when I didn't have the game and often forget it's in there.

Let's get some Dont' Stop Believin', who wouldn't want to sing that? I dig Separate Ways.
If they did make a sequel and the songs didnt carry over that would be insane
Yea there would be so much backlash. I have no worries about it though, I think Harmonix really gives the fans what the want. From lurking over at the Rock Band forums, it seems like they're really listening.

I want Two Princes by the Spin Doctors.

It's a song that all in all is pretty good, and I feel that the drums and vocals are especially good for a game like Rock Band.

As is though the DLC has more than exceeded my expectations. When I saw that there was some 30 Seconds to Mars I was like, "fuck yeah!"

Unless Guitar Hero III gets something like the Top Gun Anthem and Crystal Planet by Joe Satriani I am never going to buy anymore of their crappy over priced DLC.

So I'm just trying to keep awake here at work and I decided to see how much of the DLC I've bought. I have picked up all the packs except the David Bowie pack (someone convince me to and I'll buy it when I get home haha). And of the 23 single songs I've downloaded 20. So if I'm going my math right, thats 35 out of 41 songs.

Thats only of the DLC, I'm not counting the OXM songs or the announced packs for the next couple weeks. Thank goodness for all the free points deals. RB has only been out for like 3 months now too, I need to get cracking on them free points!

I would LOVE LOVE LOVE LOVE Tool as I am a huge fan of theirs but it doesn't seem very Maynard or Tool-like to let your songs get put on a video game...

I bought 7 songs so far...thank GOD i held on to the 4000 points i got from smarterchild

That's very true, but I'd settle for cover songs at this point.

So Rock Band has successfully sold 2.5 million DLC songs. Hopefully this means more songs per week in the future. Also, am I the only one who'd really like to play some Grim Reaper?

C'mon, don't you wanna defeat the wolfman with guitar solos?
200+ songs in line for RB and they said some songs from games are coming. Similar to halo song in gh3.
Do you have a link to an article by any chance?

Portal Song. I don't care that it features a computer voice and a synthesizer.

Knowing that, they would almost HAVE to make these songs work in RB2. People like Courageous and myself who download almost everything would be pissed off if those songs were trapped in one game :p

Game songs eh? Hmmmm I wonder what those could be...and here's hoping they are only .99 and not 1.99.

I think they would be dumb to price those at 1.99.
Game songs are more niche and need to be lower to attract more people.

I still think some final fantasy music would be awesome, but there is almost no chance in hell of getting it.

Yea but we're such whores we'll buy the sequel and all the DLC for that too.

You know I was thinking if I would buy the next RB bundle next year. I like the 3/4th scale guitars so I'd at least bite on a guitar bundle. If its not wireless the least I would ask for is the usb cord to be detachable so the guitar looks nicer on display. A second drumset is debatable. It'll likely be improved greatly since we're only on the first gen drums, what I want most would be that the next set let you arrange each pad to separate height levels.

True

With Rock Band 2, I'd probably buy the bundle and sell off my old drums (assuming the newer drums would be a lot nicer).

Yeah, I have already requested two princes countless times over on the rock band forum. It would be an awesome song and pretty much everyone knows it.
Anyone know where I can get some cheapo MS points?
Not to sound like I whore, but I get mine through gaminglagoon.

I'm sure they would want DLC to work in a new game, but artists would probably expect to get paid again if it's not already in the licensing agreement.

I also buy almost all the DLC so I hope I'm wrong about that, but I work in the industry and I'm pretty sure that's how it would go down.

Hopefully they thought about this in advance.

I really want some Bad Religion. It would be a challenge finding Rock Band-suitable songs - most are short, and the vocals are very often choruses. They're lyrics also might be a problem, but I don't know how they compare to other songs already in the game (Number of the Beast?).

Anyway, going by length, the best song would probably be Epiphany. It's got a varied lead guitar (cool intro), and it's very vocal. The studio version clocks in at 3:59.

Streets of America is good and long. (That music video is just horrible, though.)

Anesthesia is one of my favorite BR songs period, and t would probably be fun. The studio version is just over 3 minutes.

There's a ton of other songs that would be great, but short. Maybe they should just offer the entire Against the Grain album, and make you play the songs two at a time. All the worry about time come from playing Fortunate Son, which is fun, but way too short.
If they did make a sequel and the songs didnt carry over that would be insane
If they do come out with RB2 they should make it like Pokemon where you can move over your saved files\songs to the new version.

I mean, at the rate that I'm buying songs I could easly own more DLC songs then came on the disk.

I have a feeling instead of RB2 we'll see some type of RB:Special Edition. Kinda like Ninja Gidien: Black. Where it's the original game, but more costumes, character options and such. But not really a whole new game.

In interviews Harmonix has stated that previously downloaded songs would continue to be supported in future games. If they stick by what they said then I'd assume they included that stipulation in their contracts with the artists...
*crosses fingers*

Three guitars I've gone through so far.

All 3 have complete fucking minds of their own when it comes to activating overdrive (or "star power," as we all call it anyway).

AUGH.

I wanna kick someone at Activision right in the fucking face.

Then I'll file yet another goddamned RMA.

Activision? Your GH guitars are flipping out on you?

Sorry: I want to kick Activision in the collective face because this would be a total non-issue had they not cockblocked the RB patch that would let me use the Les Paul controller on the PS3.

GamingLagoon, Prizerebel will take a while, but you will get free points emailed to you.

Or you could go through yourfree360games route and get 1600 MS points and a battery pack or 4000 MS points in 5 minutes of work.
