The Wired tips have really helped me with the drums. I was struggling mightaly on medium and I was able to beat a song on hard last night. And no more sore shins!

I was disappointed with the Monkees song. The sound doesn't bode well for other melodic content like the Beach Boys or some Beatles stuff if they end up with covers.

What the fuck? I can't log into EA's page to order my drum pedal :bomb:

***EDIT***

Logged in and ordered my drum pedal.

Oh, and this is how real men fix their pedals...

Playing yesterday, my disc became 'unreadable'.

I never had a disc become unreadable after it had been playing, normally they won't boot up at all if they have smudges on them. So I took the disc out, and it was clean, except for one mark near the center ring. It looked like a tiny hairline at first, but it looks like the bottom layer of the disc is starting to pull away from the rest of the disc.

Gotta call EA for an exchange, luckily I'm still w/i my 30 days...but I haven't had bad media on a game since the original GTA came out on PC. :(

The OXM tracks are pretty tough on drums (for me, at least). Failed at 81% on both Rock Rebellion and Sprode. Only made it through Shake.

Though, playing with the PC drum program thing, either its sensitivity is screwy or my drums are dying. :whistle2:# Can't seem to roll red or yellow, but blue and green are fine.

I can't get the drums to work right on the PC. Vista recognized them and installed the drivers, but the pads aren't recognized in the gamepad test, but the kickdrum is.

Dunno what to tell ya then. :/ My issues were fairly consistent with what I saw in-game, with red and yellow rolls, so I'm not too surprised. Gonna wait for my guitar to get fully RMA'd first though.

Songs for next week, according to the RB forums:

Oasis Pack:
Don’t Look Back in Anger
Live Forever
Wonderwall

And for 1/29:

Smashing Pumpkins - Siva
Rush - Working Man (cover)
Coheed and Cambria - Ten Speed (Of God's Blood and Burial) (cover)
I don't think the Coheed song is a cover if it is it probably will suck more then the song probably does already.
I really like Ten Speed, but I wish it was a master track instead of a cover.

Someone posted this a couple days ago. It should be noted that the 1/29 songs are grouped together in a pack.

Played for the first time today and discovered my brain can't control my hands for the drums. The kick peddle throws me off as well. My 8 year old son also stinks on the drums but we're both kind of good on the guitar. My wife sings well in real life but doesn't know the words to most of the songs so she has a hard time. At least my 2.5 year old son rocks on his Fischer Price guitar while the rest of the family sucks.

Where is that "noted?" That's kind of an odd group of songs to stick in a pack.

It's not a pack.
The Oasis pack will be available as a pack for $5.49 (440 Microsoft points), or $1.99 (160 Microsoft Points) for the individual tracks. Please note that the Week of January 29th is NOT a pack, as it was reported. These songs are only available individually.
What the easiest song for the 100% guitar achievement? I've been playing "I Think I'm Paranoid" but I'm getting sick of it... I've played it three times in a row now and missed one note each time. Grr...

javeryh, I think you're using the easiest one. ;) Some other stuff I find easiest is Time We Had (bonus tour), Gimme Shelter, In Bloom and Dirty Little Secret, if you've got that DLC.

How do I unlock the songs

Ballromm Blitz, Sweet
Tom Sawyer, Rush
Next to You, The police
Flirtin with Disaster, Molly Hatchet
Green Grass & High Tides, Hugh Edward

I mostly want Ballromm Blitz and Tom Sawyer. What City are they in?

Just play through on Medium. Almost all of those are in the later tiers.
That is because gold stars are for Expert.
And you don't have to be perfect - just clear a certain amount of points.
The only song I can 100% on Hard is Interstate Love Song.
That song is all kinds of fun on Expert.

I know Tom Sawyer is in the second-to-last tier, and Flirtin'/Green Grass are in the final tier.

Does anyone out there have an extra pedal?
I'd gladly pay for it, name your price. PM me, please.

I've really gotten into the drums, I just wish I had a pedal to really practice.

this game could seriously use some acoustic stuff **HINT HINT MTV** like the unplugged albums from MTV...i would kill for some alice in chains or nirvana unplugged

so anyone think the 30 seconds to mars songs are worth it?

was reading a Q&A on it and harmonix dev or w/e said they would be $2 next month

Yes you can borrow the OXM disc. I actually think those bands probably don't even mind; they want as many people to have it as possible. As CheapyD has pointed out, it's not that easy to get free content up on the Marketplace so this is the easiest way to get it out there.

On another note I made it thru the Hard Solo Tour on drums EXCEPT for Run to the Hills which is kicking my ass. Damnit! I just moved on to the Expert tour for awhile instead. Fun stuff. The drums are especially fun when you get to Expert because for the most part you are actually playing all the parts you are hearing the real drummer play. Sometimes on the easier levels it actually throws me off when my mind wants me to play what I'm hearing and I start subconsciously throwing the missing kicks in there....

So last night I'm at my church's evening service, and afterwards I go downstairs and they have Rock Band set up! So I finally got to play this game. Rocking out with four players, the way it was meant to be played. Man, I can really understand the hype... it's really addicting!

I'm stuck on the end of Don't Fear the Reaper. I have to remember to save some star power for that. I'm sure Run to the Hills will give me all sorts of trouble too.

I started playing expert as well, I'm not sure how far I'll be able to get though.
