No? Walk This Way would be awesome. I'd much rather that than any other Aerosmith song that's been in any of the RB/GH games.
I thought the lyrics overlapped and changed pitch a little too much for just one person.
Personally I prefer the Strat over the Les Paul (except for the wire). The inlaid buttons are so much faster to play on, when I go back to the LP I feel like my fingers are wading thru molasses having to press those raised buttons down. It can be easier to get lost on the strat at first because it's less tactile to be able to tell which button you are pressing without looking, compared to the LP, but once you get used to it that's no big deal.
I just hate the feel of the strat's strum bar. I'm sent in for a replacement Strat but I'm not sure if it's actually broken or if it's just plain crappy.

You're probably right. It's still an awesome song, and I bet the devs would have some clever way of making it work.

My replacement strat strum bar is much better than the one I sent back, much less sponge-y. After running through most of the guitar stuff on the old Xplorer, I'm using the Strat mostly now.

When pussies quit on you during the Tug-of-War and the Score Battle does it count as a win? Last night I had people quitting on me left and right and I was playing at my skill level (Hard) so it wasn't like I was getting 100% or anything. It was so annoying. I was going for the 5 in a row achievement and didn't get it - it went L, L, W, Q, W, W, Q, L and nothing popped up...

depends on what option you choose.
1) You can choose to let them hold $120 on your credit card, send the new guitar immediately and wait until the old guitar comes in to release your money back to you, or
2) you can choose to request a box to send in your old guitar first, and not have to put up the insurance money.

Yeah my first strat flaked out the same way. The replacement is great though.
I put in my CC info and had the guitar in like 3 days, and no more problems with it.

Unlike the Les Paul which is always missing notes because of the stupid detachable neck.
I feel the same way about my guitar. The strum is just too sponge like. Should I go ahead and request another one?
Is it missing notes and/or double strumming? If so then yes definitely.

If not you may just not like the feel of it, in which case a new one will be the same.
It doesn't have the click that the GH guitars have. Personally I prefer no click but not all do.
I love Foreplay/Long Time, probably one of my top 5 favorite songs in the game, even if the intro is a bitch and a half.
I like the song too, and I'd probably like the intro if I could do it. =P

I just don't like how the learning curve comes outta nowhere, it's like the first time those drum rolls get all crazy and you gotta pound the bass too. I beat it by just focusing on the bass and the red drum, and then Long Time is pretty easy.

I'm still stuck on Don't Fear the Reaper. Additionally, I can't pass RttH or WGFA or that Police song, but I can do the other two songs in the last tier, Tom Sawyer and the Molly Hatchet song.

Man... why can't this game have hyperspeed...

Additionally, for some reason I can't get higher than 3 stars on Move Along...

Anyone have some tips for me to make the jump from Medium Drums -> Hard Drums? I can only pass the 1st song right now (maybe 2?) on hard... The rest of the first tier I can maybe 80%? I know how to hold the sticks and all that... I just can't seem to seperate the bass drum and my hands.

Anyone wanting to play later, we'll be needing a drummer. We have guitar, bass and vocals covered.

Send me a FR if you want to drum with us.

I hate to say it but it boils down to practice. ;)

If you can memorize some of the patterns you need to work on, you can even practice them outside the game while riding the bus or whatever, by 'air drumming'. I've seen people on the RB forums scoff at this idea, but it is absolutely a valuable way to practice limb independence. Just try to tap your hands and foot to the right rhythm and eventually it will 'click'. You need to develop muscle memory and a 'feel' for what you need to be doing. Trying to think about it all while doing it can be overwhelming, you really need to internalize that 'feel'.

The good news is, you aren't just practicing a game but are actually learning valuable skills for playing a real kit, or even other instruments.

Ah, then I guess it's fine. I just can't get used to it the strum, but I love everything else about it.

I'll be on playing drums in a couple of hours or so (not sure exactly what time since I need to go out for a bit first).
I will send you a FR in case we are able to sync up.

Thanks for the tips, I realize that's what it is, but just wondering if there was something else I was missing.

Also... I play the trumpet and I have a real kit... lol :$ (I haven't played it in ages, it's kinda rusty because my mom won't let me play it, she says its too loud and we don't have room for it :( )

And I was just trying out tug of war and I got slaughtered! The first time was a regular song (forgot the name) and It was like 99% him and 97% me... The next song was Green Grass and High Tides! I swore I'd never play it again but I couldn't chicken out... I got 90ish% and he got 99%! He dominated me! :(

Edit: I just played another song and I think now i got the base drum semi-down, its just all the double hits I can't really get.. Any tips? I'm going to check youtube for the "heel up" thing and see if that helps.
Is there any way to use the headset while drumming? I couldn't figure it out last night.
if you have the right headset, there's a tiny plug for it on the bottom of the controller panel, there's also one one the side of the guitar, i just found these last night, kinda nice to have, but u need the newer version of the headset.

You don't need the newest headset. The bundle came with two little adapter/clips to use the original headsets.

Depends on what you are trying to do. If you want to sing while drumming, you still have to use a controller with headset or microphone.

I just played this for the first time last night at a friend's apartment. It's fantastic. I almost want to trade a bunch of stuff to EB and pick it up myself, but is it really worth the 160+? Does it get old fast?

To me, it is. Personally I can't play it like 3 hours straight, but I like every so often just playing a few songs, turning it off, and doing the same a little later. Theres a lot of variety as well. I'd get it.

If you intend you play through guitar, drums, and vocals single player then it definitely lasts. And its always a blast with other people of course. Weekly DLC helps as well. I've had it since release and still have to tackle drums and vocals at the higher difficulties. Go for it.

Im glad that the drums release got pushed up to Feb. 12th. My drums from yourfree360games hopefully will actually come at a date near then.

Just to talk online, but I think I can figure it out now given the information provided here. Thanks!

Cool, thanks. If you use the first option, do they send you a box along with the new guitar or what?

Not even. I've played through guitar twice, vocals once, and Band World tour and I'm still enjoying it. Not to mention all the Rock Band parties I've had. That's a good time.

You use the same box the new pedal came in to return the broken pedal, and just tape the return slip on the box. There isn't a whole lot they can do if you don't though, but I don't know why you would want to keep a broken one.

Quits don't count as wins. I believe (don't quote me on this) they count as a loss for whoever quit, but I know they don't count as wins. Otherwise I'd have the achievement, after today's play.

I think I might actually be buying this sometime this week

One question, is the drumming as loud and annoying as I hear in all these Youtube videos? Or is it like Guitar Hero with the clicking strum bar (by that I mean if you watch a video on Youtube of someone who doesn't record straight from their TV but rather pointing a camera at their screen, the strum bar is pretty loud) When I play GH I don't even notice it so I'm hoping Rock Band is like this.

I guess what I'm asking is can you still hear what you're drumming through the game or is it just that plastic sound all the time?

Loud, thwapping, noises.

Yes, it can get fairly loud depending on how hard you swing. The strum bar clicking is nothing compared to the drum set.

People exagerate. Its loud but if you have the tv up you dont really mind them. . Its sort of like the 360...Some people say its a chainsaw others say its not that loud Also you dont have to beat your drums. You can play pretty soft on them

Bah. I'm playing hard guitar and got up to 4 wins last night before some tool got 100% on Detroit Rock City. God forbid my 98% should hold up.

Well, my bass pedal finally cracked.

I thought I remembered reading somewhere that even if you don't do the express return method, they'll send you a new pedal, and you don't have to send the broken one back? Is that true?
