Guess that explains why you don't accept friend invites.

Not usually if there isn't a message to go along with saying where a person is from. No offense, but I can't remember everyone on every forum I visit.

That's understandable. My apologies then.
... erm... because it's one of the top 3 albums of the 90's next to Nevermind and Metallica's self titled album?
Yeah, in the 90's (high school) I was much more into R&B & Rap/HipHop at the time. However, Smells Like Teen Spirit was "acceptable" to listen to even in the 'hood. But I really came to appreciate rock as a genre once I listen to Jeremy.

I remember just randomly having MTV on and them saying that Jeremy was upcoming. Well, it's not everyday that I heard my name as the title to a song, so I had to listen. The video was so weird but the song so good. Next school day, I asked my one "rock" friend about Pearl Jam and she happened to have the tape (yes tape not CD) Ten on her. It was one of a select few albums that I could listen to front-to-back and not need to fast-forward. It's still in my regular rotation today. Funny aside, my (6 week old) son really likes when I sing Jeremy to him.

Coincidently, the other song that he really get into is Enter Sandman. Those three songs, Teen Spirit, Sandman, & Jeremy are what got me to expand my musical horizons. Hell, if it wasnt for them, I would have never even had a passing interest in GH/RB.

That being said, RB needs to get some R&B in there too. Prince's Purple Rain album would be perfect (and an instant buy!).

how do you export RB songs to RB2? do I do it from RB or RB2 and under what option thanks

Go to the "Options Menu" in RB1 and go to "Export Songs" then follow the instructions plus you will need 400 Marketplace points to buy the Export Key.
Now that I get to enjoy tons of Pear Jam in March, we need some Neil Young and Tom Petty.
If nothing else, I demand "Rockin' In The Free World" and "Won't Back Down".

Hell yes on Tom Petty. We need a No Doubt/Who size greatest hits pack. We need some classic rock, period. Springsteen, Mellencamp, Scorpions even Violent Femmes. I think another Boston pack is in order as well.

Well shit. The blue pad on my wireless drums stopped working completely. It started missing at random a few days ago and only got worse last night until it completely stopped working. Time to RMA the thing. Ugh...
Just beat Visions and Panic Attack with the new Strat; it gets my approval.
I'm not on your level so I'll probably never get through Visions (on hard or expert, at least), but I will reiterate that the new Strat is really nice for those who haven't tried it out. While the one I originally got needed to be RMA'd, the replacement was great. I actually find it kind of hard to go back to the Les Paul if I have people over or whatever.

Just to give a few mini-reviews...

New Strat: I like it a lot more compared to the old one. The strum bar is improved, but still not "clicky." I have an easier time moving up and down the neck compared to GH guitars, and it doesn't cramp my wrist as much. The auto calibration worked like a charm too.

Mad Catz Mic: It's alright. I think I'm going to return it. Leaving out a Right Bumper nerfs the thing IMO. It's really just about the convenience. As far as sensitivity goes, I'm not a good singer, so I can't tell if it's better or worse on medium. Its probably best to wait for the next version of this thing, as 60.00 is pretty steep.

Mad Catz Bass: I was hesitant at first, but this thing is great. Nice and heavy, with good attention to detail. Playing bass the correct way is going to take some getting use to, but I welcome the new challenge. There's no whammy bar on it, but instead a whammy knob, which is really neat. Suck that it's wired, but if you have the extra cash, I say go for it.

Ion drums: The price is beastly but they really are amazing. The sensitivity on the 4 main pads is spot on. You have to hit the cymbals a little harder to register consistent hits, but it's not to bad. Also, these things are HUGE. They make the other drum sets look like crap compared to them. However, due to the extremely steep price tag, I'd recommend it for only the hardcore crowd.

I tried lowering it, but that height works well for me. That might change when I get a new seat though. Right now I use my computer chair.

Wow, you got the ION set JFD?

Also did the volume of drum sounds in RB2 get toned down?
It's hard to hear them. I realize that the harder you hit... but still, I can barely hear them.

Yeah. Awhile back, Dallow.

I think I'm a bit lost on the point of the RB1-to-RB2 export feature. Is it just for convenience so you don't have to switch discs? Are there any RB2 enhancements to the RB1 songs?

The frets will be the newer RB2 frets. i.e. the HO/PO are smaller and easier to distinguish. Other than that, it's mostly convenience.

Oh, that's right! Thanks for pointing that out. The HO/PO distinction is definitely a plus. I don't mind switching discs but the HO/PO enhancement may convince me to go with the export.

For example, there's a Smashing Pumpkins challenge that has you playing "Today" (RB2), "Cherub Rock" (RB1), and "Zero" (DLC).

If you're on the fence, I have a feeling that you won't wanna go back after seeing ALL those songs organized in RB2's awesome "Music Store" interface. :D

hmmm just got this this morning... just trying to unlock stuff quick before the next few days. mainly playing on easy because I haven't played an instrument/guitar game in years.

so far liking it, but I mainly want to download Thw Who album for my dad and some devo for myself.

I have 2 sets of codes for the 20 song track pack that can be DL for RB2. I sold an ACDC track pack to someone here a couple of days ago, with no problems pm me if your interested. thanks

I can vouch for that transaction, I was the one who purchased the AC/DC pack and everything went incredibly smoothly. Also, how is that Brooks and Dunn song, any good?

They need to give us free Christmas songs. I'm not going to pay for them but a couple would be nice to play around this time of year.

Apparently the most obvious Christmas choice for this game, Trans-Siberian Orchestra, was just too fucking awesome for the people at Harmonix. They have to continue the streak of epic fail, after all.

I think my stock RB1 drums are finally about to die. It's been a fun year and they're going out with all sorts of rubber, metal, wood, tape and who knows what else attached to them.

Edit: And socks. How could I forget the socks?

Also, the Going Country pack is the best DLC we've gotten since Mission of Burma last month. So good.

I was floored when I saw your career drum rank. I knew you were a beast but good lord.
I was floored when I saw your career drum rank. I knew you were a beast but good lord.
...Me too!

I actually had no idea where I was on the leaderboards. I never check my own career rank, since I'm not quite that good, not to mention they've been somewhat glitchy since launch. I mean, looking at the top career scores, I see only one name that I'd recognize from other places online (i.e. Scorehero), I think there would be far more of them populating the top spots.

I'd actually gotten a few random friend requests from people I didn't know with no idea how they'd found me, so I guess that explains it, heh.

Speaking of drums...

I'm hooking mine up for the first time now. You know those little latches that raise/lower the height of the legs? One of those is EXTREMELY hard to undo. The other one unlocks very simply. Is there anything I can do to "loosen up" the one latch that is a bitch to open?

Edit: Is there any place that rates the songs (DLC)? I'm looking to basically waste an entire 1600 point card on various tracks, but I don't want to buy duds.

This doesn't really rate the DLC, but it does have a relatively accurate chart that shows how popular content is. Sadly it isn't updated anymore, but it has everything up through September of this year:
