The left trigger? Wow I had no idea of that. My friends in NY and I were trying to play and we couldnt figure out why they couldnt hear me sing. Thanks for the info :)

Well with the Live downtime, I figure it's time for a CoD break and time to launch back into Rock Band. I'm going to beat the Harmonix Set List on hard for ensured success, and if Visions isn't carpel-tunnel hard when I go to play it on Expert I will be very disappointed in you guys...;)

I was playing the impossible Bass Challenge last night and Panic Attack is killing me. The other songs in the setlist are pretty easy and then that intro to Panic Attack just raped me. WTF. I did get through 70% or so on a subsequent try but ended up bagging it for the night.

Can anyone play Expert Guitar/Drums/Vocals on that song to help me through it?

If you're going for the Impossible Bass Challenge achievement, you don't need to do it on expert to get it, if that's what you're playing it on. Unless you're determined on getting through it on expert, any difficulty will get you the achievement. I had to quit and save my progress on the drum challenge and switch to Hard for Panic Attack and Painkiller.

I could do guitar/bass. If I do the bass you also get the 'Along for the Ride' achievement.

Yea, I was trying to get the "Buy a Real Instrument Already" achievement at the same time, but I just read that you can do any of the Impossible Challenges on Expert for the achievement and there are some easier ones that can be unlocked (they mentioned an Impossible 80s Bass Challenge, which sounds really easy).

Yea I picked up the "along for the ride" playing the drums when the wife did one of the vocal challenges. I wouldn't mind playing some songs with some other CAGs though. I need the 90 second overdrive, 8x multiplier and million points. I can play Expert bass on most anything except the toughest songs, and Expert guitar on some of the easier stuff. Can't really get past medium on drums and I won't even attempt vocals.

What the fuck. Ok, this is the most random song I've come into contact with in any of my rhythm game playing. The stair patterns are bullshit, and it did NOT look this hard on Youtube. Is it possible that the song is EASIER on expert mode?

I usually just downstrum, but I'm not bad at alternating and even doing that I can get this shit down. I refuse to give up after playing 8 other fucking songs before this though.
Sorry for the lame question but does DLC technically become available at 12:01 am?
A while ago it used to be ~2 or 3 a.m. Pacific Time, I don't know if that time has changed within the past 6 months or not.
Sorry for the lame question but does DLC technically become available at 12:01 am?
I thought it usually hit around 4 or 5 am EST, but with XBL down right now who knows if that schedule sticks.

What song?
What song?
EDIT: WTF! I played some shitty Hot Topic gig cause they said I'd make decent change; I got $300 and LOST 40,000 FANS!

Welcome to the club. I was all set to do a metal song. I took the challenge, had to play Paramore, got $325, but lost 25k fans lol.

I don't like this club, lol. I mean, I don't mind Paramore or only $350 bucks, but 40,000 FANS?

Sell-outs!

How much space do you guys think the RHCP album will take up?

I only got like 200 MB free and I need to figure out how much to delete.
Since most songs on the album are 4:00+ minutes, I assume that the average file per song would be in the 30-40 MB range. If it were me, I'd have 550 - 650 MB of room open.

But don't quote me on that - you can start deleting shit when the Marketplace tells you exactly how large the file is.

Send me a friend's request, I can beat Visions on expert guitar and I like to play co-op with people quite a bit anyway.

Ah, I see, didn't realize you were going for that achievement at the same time, but makes sense now. I'm also trying to get the 90 second overdrive and million point achievements. I wouldn't mind helping out with any other achievements, feel free to send a friend request or I'll send you one tomorrow.

Guitar and bass are probably my strongest areas on RB, but I'm pretty good at all of the instruments on expert. I'm not bad on singing, though I haven't tried all of the RB2 songs for vocals yet. Only songs that I can't pass yet on drums are stuff like Painkiller, Visions, Panic Attack, Peace Sells, etc.

If its only 18 songs then that just screams like it'll be DLC. Or maybe eventual DLC? Maybe you're paying for extra venues/clothes/instruments as well.

If the songs are exportable, we could ship the disc around to each other and make it a really great deal. The description kind of reads that way too - "All tracks from [the Track pack] will also be available for play in Rock Band and Rock Band 2."

Well on the Wal-Mart countdown it says 'from $29.88'. So hopefully that's the price and the 'from' just means they'll also have bundles of some sort.

Good idea. I'm in.

Holy crap...AC/DC? are you kidding me. That is awesome, I love me some AC/DC. I'm not liking the price though. That's crazy for 18 songs. Even though I'll probably break down and buy it anyway.

Will probably be $29.88 for PS2 and $39.88 for 360/ps3. God I hope not.

Coolness. As soon as we discover that they're exportable, I'll start arranging the disc trading.

I was just gonna say the same thing. I'm up for it, even if we have to make some sort of donation to the AC/DC fund

Guys, If you actually browse the site(outside of the flash page) and search for the AC/DC item it shows $40 for 360/PS3 and $30 for PS2. Here is the link to the 360 version. It is a stand-alone disc, but it comes with a code to export the songs. So it sounds like a train isn't in the cards.

AC/DC, like the Eagles have signed an exclusive deal with Wal-Mart, so this and their new album will only be available there.

The following content was provided by the publisher.
AC/DC LIVE: Rock Band Track Pack is a fully-featured, standalone extension to the multi-million unit selling, genredefining, cultural phenomenons Rock Band and Rock Band 2, the ultimate social music game experiences. AC/DC Live lets you and your friends relive AC/DC's epic 1991 live performance at Donington, UK, through the eyes of Brian Johnson, Angus Young, Malcolm Young, Cliff Williams, and Chris Slade.

AC/DC COMES EXCLUSIVELY TO ROCK BAND!
Harmonix, developers of the blockbuster Guitar Hero and Rock Band franchises, are delivering AC/DC LIVE, a continuation of the Rock Band platform that lets audiences of all ages interact with music in an all-new way - collaboratively, competitively, or in single-player - to experience the majestic power of AC/DC. Features Include :

Play your favorite hard-rockin' classics, or jump right in and conquer the entire 18-song set! - All of your favorite modes return - solo and band tours, tug-of-war, score duel, and even practice mode.
Rock Band's trademark guitar, bass, drums, and vocals put you right onstage where the action is! - You can use your Rock Band or Rock Band 2 peripherals to create the ultimate music game experience - you can tap out guitar solos with the 2nd set of frets at the top of your guitar neck, freeform drum fill your way through drumming sections, or use freestyle vocals to express yourself while belting out AC/DC classics.
Go Beyond the Disc! - The Xbox 360 and PS3 versions ship with a code on the back of the game manual that lets you import all of the songs into the Rock Band or Rock Band 2 game environment (Internet connection required).
AC/DC LIVE replicates AC/DC's track list from their landmark gig at Donington:

"Thunderstruck"
"Shoot to Thrill"
"Back in Black"
"Hell Ain't a Bad Place to Be"
"Heatseeker"
"Fire Your Guns"
"Jailbreak"
"The Jack"
"Dirty Deeds Done Dirt Cheap"
"Moneytalks"
"Hells Bells"
"High Voltage"
"Whole Lotta Rosie"
"You Shook Me All Night Long"
"T.N.T."
"Let There Be Rock"
"Highway To Hell"
"For Those About to Rock (We Salute You)"

"Go Beyond the Disc! - The Xbox 360 and PS3 versions ship with a code on the back of the game manual that lets you import all of the songs into the Rock Band or Rock Band 2 game environment (Internet connection required)."

Probably a one time use code, that sucks. They should just make it DLC people are buying the disc just to get the code on the back of the manual.

Maybe you missed the part where this is a Wal-Mart promotion. They wouldn't exactly get any business if it was DLC.

Don't forget, as a stand-alone game it should come with a separate 1000 gamerpoints.

Yeah, first thing I thought was disc train also, but I bet you that the code that comes with the game is one time use only, so passing out 1 disc is probably not an option.

Too bad they probably won't just sell another $5 key on the marketplace or something.

$40 bucks? Man, I really like AC/DC, but damn that sucks. I'll probably buy the game, export the songs, and then trade the game in at GameStop same day.

Well, Harmonix has finally stepped in shit with the additional content. It's hard for me to bitch much because they've done such a good job so far, but this is pretty bad.

That said, I'd expect this thing to drop in price within a few months, even if it is Wal-Mart only. I also can't see Harmonix keeping this away from the Rock Band store forever...maybe a 3 to 6 month wait. Just doesn't make any sense to have it limited to disc only, one retailer.

I can wait. I'm not too crazy about live tracks anyway.

KR, I'm definitely with you on live content, but AC/DC is the exception to the rule. Their live shit is really high quality.

If this is the way it's happening, Harmonix had their hand forced by AC/DC and/or Wal-Mart. There's no other explanation for it.

Regardless, it's interesting and all, but there's no way I'm paying $40 for it.

$40 for 18 songs is shit. The one time code is smart though because it forces a purchase if you wish to integrate it with RB2. This has to be eventual DLC or perhaps the game has more than just AC/DC tracks to fill it up a little bit. Theres got to be more to it since it will be a full retail 1000 achievement game as pointed out.

From what I have read the walmart exclusive thing was not announced today.

If I am not mistaken their new album or some shit will be walmart exclusive, but nothing was announced about the game being exclusive to walmart.

For $40 though 18 tracks is not enough. Are they going to maybe pepper in some other tracks?
