RPG Thread IV is the worst in the series
I guess I'd just like to see more exploration... like if there were multiple towns or something more than a straight-up dungeon crawl. I think my ideal Persona game would be SMT Nocturne + P4 dating sim/school life.
I agree. combining the social link system with more exploration would be welcomed. I just don't want them to throw out the "sim life" concept entirely.

A bigger Persona is a good thing. More social links, branching story lines. Make it like SMT Mass Effect and I'm in.

Quick change of subject. Does Digital Devil Saga feature the protagonist like Nocturne and Persona 4?

I don't think I'm going to drop another 100+ hours into a RPG if I have to deal with not being able to resurrect the pro.

What do you mean? Like is he's an obvious central character? If so then yes. He's also silent. However without spoiling too much the MC at the end of DDS2 gets a little... freaky

I need to resist this urge to replay Valkyria Chronicles. I just received my copy that Im going to keep sealed, but it's so tempting to just pop my regular disc in and play through one more time.

I'm finding Resonance of Fate's battles to be really long.

Ironically, the hard battles tend to be really short...

That's funny, I've been meaning to replay Valkyria for a while now and never got around to it. Perhaps after RoF I finally will.

Right? a handful of games I wanna replay/finish my replay on, but I feel guilty not playing the never played backlog games...

VC is a truly amazing game, although I have a really hard time following SRPG's usually, VC was the exception. I was interested the entire time, beautiful game that actually gets you emotional about the characters.
If any of my squad members "died" I always went back and re-did the mission so they wouldn't be lost forever.

I borrowed my friends PS3 when VC dropped to $30 just so I could play it. I got about halfway through before he wanted his system back. If I ever get a PS3 thats on the top of my list.

That's one trusting friend you got there.
But, the game doesn't end in DDS if the MC dies. Which is what I think you're getting at.
Thanks, Josh. I'm sweating every time Mamudo comes out and I really don't want to go through it again.

I have just started playing the Sonic Genesis collection, I am going to try and Platinum it before anything else but I am really looking forward to playing completely through the Phantasy Star games at some point in the near future. Phantasy Star was the first console RPG I ever played, so it definitely has a special place in my gaming memories.

Probably one of the easiest games to get nerd points. Good luck with the Mean Bean Machine one, it's the hardest (however there's a little trick :whistle2:# )

Time flys when you're playing Dragon Force. I stayed up till 5AM last night. Good thing I have such a tolerant wife.

I wish I had a tolerant husband, last night I tried to get him to go to bed without me, I said "let me just get this Alex Kidd trophy and I will come to bed" and he sits on the couch and says "yeah right, I'll wait". He knows me too well lol.

Edited to add~ Yes I noticed how easy it would be to Platinum this thing, I am hoping it builds my confidence for getting the platinum in FFXIII, which looks like it might drive me insane.

Sounds to me like you do have a tolerant husband. My wife isn't into games anymore, but she lets me have my game time which I really appreciate.

My co-workers are raving about Infinite Space...I may bite if it drops in price. :p

Woot, just got the Mean Bean trophy out of the way! It was a very frustrating experience but the rest should be easy riding. Soon as I finish this game I can Platinum FFXIII (hopefully), than start my Phantasy Star play through marathon.

Well it seems that way, but I was hoping he would go to bed so I could get a few more trophies out of the way, but as it was I had to go to bed as soon as I got the Alex Kidd trophy. If I ever stayed up to 5am (which I have many times in the past) he would have (and has had) a fit.
There needs to be (another) VC sequel on the PS3. Has the PSP version performed well?
Well, its a PSP game, so it only has a chance to sell well in Japan. Its first week there was ~95k, at number 2 on the charts. 24k in week 2.

I'd say thats not too shabby. I believe the original is around ~150k LTD (Japan)

That was the hardest for me. I did the pause trick, which gave me time to think of my next move. I know, it's kinda cheating. The rest are a cinch, but I had a lot of fun doing them.

My wife doesn't stay up to watch me play, only if Peggle is involved ;)

Back on topic - Dragon Force is still consuming my life.

Really digging the gameplay of SMT Strange Journey, but the story is still pretty weak. Who wrote this dialog? Seems like its geared for someone much younger, or who have never played an RPG before.

Looks like we've hit 500 posts. Would somebody grind us up to the next level?
