RPG Thread X will never be localized because you'd rather buy another generic FPS

When it comes to boss themes it doesn't get much better than FFVI Decisive Battle. It's an oldie but a goodie. And elessar mentioned Secret of Mana which has one of the most perfect oldschool soundtracks ever. Every track is memorable. I could go on and on about how kickass SoM's music is. This one gets my blood pumping everytime.
I'm playing Star Ocean Second Evolution and the voice acting is surprisingly decent so far (about 5 hours in). The characters and a few of the lines are typical RPG cornball, but I've been pleasantly surprised by the way the actors are at least hitting the right emphasis in the lines.
man

you need Star Ocean: The Second Story horrible voice acting, it's so much more amusing

Wild ARMs had one of the best soundtracks... I loved the music from that game. Western inspired fantasy music worked a lot better than I thought it would have (at the time).

Into the Wilderness is still one of my favorite game ditties.

Certainly. I remember popping the disc in for years afterward just to watch the opening cinematic.
Is this going to screw me up with Yukari? Is it even possible to progress Chihiro's Social Link as just a friend?
Honestly you could date every girl at the same time if you want. It is just a pain in the ass to juggle them all. I'm sure someone has already written a guide up to do that in the P3P version of the game

All of the guides that I've found are just lists of what to do on every day of the year to maximize S. Link efficiency. I'm not interested in that, just some high-level overview information about how the mechanics work, but that's surprisingly difficult to find.
FWIW : Yukari got jealous when I was spending time with Aegis and it reversed the link, but I was near the end of the game for it to matter much anyway. I just thought it was pretty funny that a girl would get mad over you hanging out with a robot.
That's funny, I thought I had read that the girls wouldn't get jealous over Aigis. Maybe they changed that for the PSP version?

Makes sense to me though, I'm sure my wife would get jealous of me spending too much time with a robot, if the robot happened to look like a fetching young woman.

It's possible, this is coming from when I played FES. I played as the female in P3P.

And that is true, I'm sure if I had a girlfriend and I was hanging out with a cute robot, she'd get jealous. hah

Honestly I don't remember the mechanics being that difficult. It's pretty much give the right answers and hangout with them every so often.

Hm?

I remember there's 3 types of reactions and they're all worth points, although some scenes may have answers where they link to the same type of reaction, etc. After a certain amount of points you move to the next level, you can raise points by giving gifts. Some reactions cause you to reverse.

That's the most high-level information you can get...

Thanks, I thought of it all by myself.

You should, we've been asking where the hell you went.

Gotta love Dias repeating his name in battle, too.

I don't care if it is, and I completely agree.
Been thinking about Threads of Fate. I never played it back in the day. Think it still holds up today?
I would help you here, but.....
I was 6 when I played it, so I couldn't really tell you...

It probably aged a little but after playing Brave Fencer Musashi again recently,am pretty sure it's held up well since there both very similar and Brave Fencer is still a great game

I wore the shit out of the OPM demo disc that had Threads of Fate on it.

In other news, who is picking up Catherine tomorrow? And which version?

and I am picking it up, 360 and Love is Over Edition for me
Atelier Uguu.
Atelier games are made by Gust, not Nippon Ichi.

As for what it could be? I have no idea. Disgaea is really their only series. Disgaea 3 for VIta doesn't really qualify as "big" to me.

The revival of the Marl's Kingdom series (of which Rhapsody is a part of) would be nice, but I'm not getting my hopes up.

It'd be nice to have another Makai Kingdom. Honestly liked it better than Disgaea.

Edit: I just really really fucking hope it's not another Phantom Brave port.

It would likely never come to the US if it happened to be that. They made a musical RPG (Princess Antiphona's Hymn) that wasn't really related to the Marl's Kingdom series on the PSP a couple years ago. I really wanted it to be localized, but alas...

Honestly, if it's anything for the PSP (which I wouldn't be surprised if it was), we won't get it.

Yeah, the only Marl's Kingdom games we ever got were Rhapsody and La Pucelle (which doesn't really count), so I'm not betting on any possible new ones coming out here. Still, I can dream ;)

I really have no idea what they're planning to announce. Some long-in-the-works Disgaea action figures were apparently no-shows at the recent Wonder Festival, so maybe it has something to do with that. Got a feeling it's a new game, though.

Q as in Star Trek: TNG? Because he was most definitely awesome. ;)

I just ordered Nier and FF XIII from GoHastings, which should I play first?
