Saints Row Official Thread (New map available for download)

i just bought this game... can someone hop on live and tell me about its features online and off... if not i guess i can sit and read 40 pages of thread hahah
 
Ok, I just bought it at BB today with the use of the GGC. I was wondering though if Fry's has this game on sale like for $50 in the next 30 days can I go back to BB to get a price match?

I don't think so, but maybe I'm missing something? It just tells me what percentage I've completed and what day/time I last saved.
 
In Reguards to Thmaster24 & to those that started collecting cds before looking @ the map.All you get is some dumbass song.Butt There is a gamerscore of 10points if you collect all of em.So do what i did, is start a new game,Jump straight to the 60 cd collecting,Once that is done you'll get 10 gamerpoints,then reload your current game & continue your game.You'll still get you 10points just as long as its in your same game profle.
 
Only thing is that there is an achievement worth 160 gamerpoints that you get for completing all the activities. I know both are in the activities tab in the menu, but I can't remember if I needed them for the achievement.
 
what is the easiest way to go about stealing the 20 packages....also is there a tally on how many packages you have stolen. I think I have done roughly 4, it is taking forever as the packages only appear to be there at night time

yeah, but I'm not gonna play this again until the patch comes in, I've completed everything but that and steal 30 boxes in SP
 
No Sanjuro you wouldnt need the cd collecting for the 160 achievements.Butt im greedy i want those extra 10 man .

That's the one with the plane right? First load up on the rocket launcher and take out atleast one car that follows behind, you can take out both if you have time. Memorize the location of the guys with the rockets. Aim at the barrels next to them with the AK, after the second ramp you will come up behind the plane, shoot it with 2-3 rockets and its over. You get the mansion along with some sweet new rides.

The key is to keep your car with the most health possible. Thus blowing up the rocket launcher guys is key. The all have barrels by them, so just shoot like crazy with the AK. It took me about 10 tries to finally get. And when you get to the plane just use the AK. When you'r being rammed and your car is swerving all over the place it is hard to be accurate with the rocket launcher.

Yea, this is what I did, the rocket launcher is too hard to aim properly.

I just used the Platinum Uzi from the Hitman missions and the plane blew up in about 3 seconds for me.
 
so is it basically doing a mission then getting rep to do another mission? How do you know when you have enough rep? Is it everytime you fill the bar? Hitman missions, how do you know where they are? Do you just rome around the area that are in and something comes up letting you know where they are at? More importantly is there a way to wear the soda costume?
 
don't think you can wear the soda costume....

I took care of the cd collecting and spray tags before I really started the game. While going to each location, i would hijack a car that had at least 1 passenger. I would start the hostage thing...and drive to the next location, you need to drive around from roughly 30 seconds to a minute with them (don't remeber the time but it wasn't that bad). After the timer is up, you would get respect for completing the hostage activitiy. By the time I got all the cd's and spray tags, I had finished the hostage achievement. I then started the story line, and didn't have any problems with my rep.

The hitman missions there are guides on gamefaqs that tell you roughly where they are located. Different people will be out at different times of the day in the given area. Not all the hitman people I found in there alleged designated area, but within a couple of blocks of the territory.
 
I finally played some online a couple days ago, and the non-lag matches are really fun... but I think the patch is going to get here way too late to have a real CAG gang now... which sucks
 
Basically you do side activities to earn respect to do new missions. Like take over new territories.

When you do hitman missions usually the target will show up wherever it hints at in the HUD, sometimes it doesn't. Just go wherever it says and wait around they will usually show up with a white cross on the little mini map. It also depends on what time of day it is and what not.

yes, eveytime you do pretty much anything, you get respect. once it is filled you get a notification (after you do a mission/activity) saying you have enough respect to move on.

once you locate a hitman activity on the map, go there and talk to the person ordering the hit, you can then select a person to add to your hud. once you do that everytime you come across that person they show up as a tiny hitman icon on your minimap. as for actually finding a person, its completely random and difficult, imo. although there are some walkthroughs that help you find people.

i heard that going to the place that the person is supposed to be at and rotating the camera around (makes items like cars and people refresh) will get them to show up faster, although i have not tried it

and for the costumes, i dont think there is any way to aquire them.

I still wish we could have a CAG gang, lag or not. I don't notice lag personally, maybe I'm lucky or I just don't play it online enough.
 
Played one online match and thought it was garbage and would rather paly halo 2 or GRAW but singlepalyer is fantastic, but wiht so many games Im only 20 percent through.

Bar yes, costume, not thinking so.

The map has EVERY thing on it, so u just recognize the picture and make a waypoint there.
 
thanks everyone. Also how many levels per activity?

edit: and whats up with not having the buzz cut availible. Is there a barber shop that has this cut? Sucks, but at least I found a shop that sells beenies.

Depends on what clothes you wear during the mission but generally 2 activities for 1 mission or 3 for 2 missions.
 
There's 8 levels per activity, three activities in the whole city... except the snatch activity has an extra 2 levels in the Row area
 
I just got this game from play-asia for $40. anyone have this problem too..when i'm driving in the car it just freezes. the car disappears and shows u sitting in an invisible car, it lasts for 10-15 secs then u can drive again and it reappears. its happened twice already

happened to me a bunch of times, but my car never comes back. your lucky
 
could someone explain to me what the platinum guns do? ARe they just stronger, or what. ANd do you have to buy them, or do you just get them for free?

Also, did anyone else have a hell of a time trying to find a fire truck for the chop shop, i found all the others very fast, but cant seem to find that.

The platinum and one gold gun are way stronger than normal, you don't have to buy them, and they respawn free ammo at your safehouse...

Trying taking the firetruck off of your HUD and swing by the airport
 
So... that patch is never coming out for this, is it?

I don't think anyone is going to care if the patch does come out since there are so many awesome games coming out really soon... that was probably Volition's plan all along.

I guess we can put the Saints Row patch in the land of broken promises, right along with the Prey patch.

You get them from the Hitman missions... they are VERY worth it, the only guns I used for the entire game.

It will be like the COD2 patch, won't come out for 6 months.
 
Question: (Im a noob at this game, sorry).. How do you keep cars? I checked the garage and I have 1 car in there. I don't know how I did it.

You just park it in the garage, exit the vehicle and it's saved in your garage.
 
So I have to get it repaired? Cuz when I drive into it.. it wants me to pay for repairs..and that's how it gets saved?
