There' must be an assload of activites. I'm 45% done and I finished both the Carnales and the Vice Kings.
There are indeed a lot of activities. I've finished the main story, and I'm only 65% complete.

I've gotten to 73% with most of the activities done. The last two achievements I unlocked recently were the Own 50 Cars and Drive 500 Miles. I'm close to getting the Achievement for completing all Drug Trafficing Missions (just one more left). Mayhem is a pain in the ass because they usually put you in a place without a lot to destroy.

I love the Mayhem ones. I've beaten 2 of the 3. The drug trafficking ones are a pain in the ass for me. I can't beat the Level 8 mission for the Los Carnales one.

Here's a tip for you: no one said you have to stay in the original car during the drug run... soon as one became available to jack, I killed the FBI agents and stole their SUV (during the higher level runs). It's very durable to bullets and direct impacts. The drug runner drives whatever car you're in so keep that in mind if your car starts to smoke. Another tip I've found is ignore the runner and simply keep the gun reticule aimed behind the car. Keep trying to shoot the drivers of the cars that chase you (headshots if you can swing it). Also if you park near enough, try to recruit a Saint to tag along, cause they have unlimited ammo and will keep shooting the cars that chase.

I like Mayhem on level 8 when it's basically smash up all the shit you can in 4 minutes. I've fond the area near the King Penthouse to be a great smash area because if you keep running down light posts and traffic lights, the dollars fly in, and all you have to do is rturn around and let it respawn.

What do you guys recommend for Mayhem? It's the only activity I have left(aside from collecting all the CDs/Tags) but I can't get past level 6 or so on any of the three sites. I've been trying for the last couple of hours but I'm out of ideas. I tried getting up to 5 stars before I enter the neighborhood and then just blowing the shit out of cars(all on-foot) but even that doesn't seem to be very effective. Any tricks to it?

Always be sure to take advantage of the bonus points (you get a bonus for using an SMG, shotgun, blowing up SUVS, etc). Also check to see if you have inifinite RPGs, I often ignore checking because it tells me to use a certain weapon for a bonus. But, if you have infinite RPGs, you can destroy things much quicker than a weapon, thus allowing you to get to 5 stars quicker. As soon as you hit 5 stars, the FBI SUVs and the heli's give you major money. You can also destroy lamp posts, street signs, etc that will give you a few thousand dollars depending on your combo.

QFT

Also, when using the RPG, make sure that the FBI SUVs are completely destroyed. Ususally, I have to shoot two rockets at them.

Sounds awesome... I assume it's all free since it says you can also get it from a kiosk as well as XBL?

September 15th isn't that far away, too.
Just beat the game today and let's just say that I wasn't too happy with the ending. Good game with a bad ending.
I beat all 3 mission stories, but I haven't got the ending. How do I trigger it?

Question. For the hitman and chop-shop activites. Do they not show your targets up on your map? Rather, do they give you the area to find the person/car and you have to search the entire place? If so, I highly doubt I'll be doing these 2 activities very much at all.

I ran around dowtown for about 20-30 minutes looking for a guy to kill, and I couldn't find him.

Not sure if the people (in the hitman missions)are supposed to be randomly walking around or if they are hiding somewhere.

I think the main/your character is a cop and thats why they killed you. Troy is near a wall and it looks like he looks at a police badge in his hand then leans against the wall. I think this is why they killed you. I could be completely wrong, and see no other reason for them to kill you.

I thought Troy was the cop but now that you mention it, you could be right. What other reason would they have to kill you.

Because they spent so much time making the game kickass, they slapped together an ending? It wasn't the first time a game like this had a bad ending. True Crime NY anyone? The whole Las Venturas storyline in GTA SA?

I think that the Hitman missions do come up on your map if your close enough. I couldnt find the Hotdog dude and I gave up for a while, then all of a sudden when driving to a mission I see a crosshair looking symbol on my map. He was less then 1/4 of a short block from me at the time I dont know how close ya gotta be to activate the symbol. But it was there

The hitman missions are kinda hard because they pop up randomly in specific locations mentioned on the hit list. Though many people have reported finding these people in other locations too. One of the people I had to kill I couldn't find in the location given at all though I found her easily in Saints Row just wandering around. The people you kill are mainly just specific pedestrians because I see many of them walking around all the time.
I got started customizing cars. Almost an hour later and I've got some pretty cool cars to show for it.
Can you only customize cars during the day at the mechanic? The two times I've been were at night, and there wasn't an option to customize my cars. Instead, it was treated like a garage, where I can pick up cars I already owned, but I wasn't able to do anything to them.

Yeah, they show up on your minimap if you're in the vicinity. My main problem at first was I was looking for a red dot instead of the crosshairs. I can't tell if I like or hate the fact that the area the target could be in is so large. I do kind of like how it doesn't hold your hand with a "HERE HE IS!!!" thing on the large map.

It does seem to be pretty random, and one of the guys I had to kill so far was driving around. I had to stop his car and drag him out of it.

If that's correct, I hope that stuff is actually available in multiplayer and not limited to stingle player. And I also hope they don't cost like $999999999999 since money doesn't come easily in multiplayer. Fat guy with no shirt, a vest, and leather chaps FTW

Pull up your car to the garage door next to the shop and you'll be able to customize your car 24/7.

That sucks and deserves repeating... the spoiler below is about what you get for the hitman and pimping missions and a question about them... if it even should be a spoiler

Dont you guys think instead of a Platinum Riot shotgun they should give you say... a platinum McManus? The pimp cane/shotgun is better than the riot plus that's two bonus guns in the same slot and we're not able to carry them both around

I agree but rather than a McManus, I'd prefer a platinum AR. The McManus is already one shot kills anyway.

The more I play this game the more I find to like about it. I used to be a GTA fanboy but I put in San Andreas earlier this afternoon and it just seems so bland compared to Saint's Row now.

Thanks on the tips for the Mayhem stuff guys, turns out the reason I was stuck is because the game assigns random bonuses and I kept drawing shitty ones but it was smooth sailing as soon as I started hitting the rocket launcher and sedan bonuses.

Also 100% cleared the single player today, I'd recommend you guys try and knockout the 75 graffiti tags as soon as possible, you get a really awesome bonus for doing those that would come in really handy for all the other stuff.

As far as Hitman and Chop Shop missions, my problem is I lumped them together and waited until the end, but they're designed to be left running in the background of the game from the very begginning, I'd imagine they'd be much more fun(and easier) that way. The major flaw I have with the Hitman/Chop Shop missions is that because one of the triggers is the in-game time, instead of spreading them out throughout the game you'll be searching for something for half an hour and four of them will finally show up in the same block because the game's clock struck X:00.

Yeah, I really don't like the way they did the chop shop & hitman missions. There are a couple ways they could have made them less frustrating without making them a cake walk. First, they could have actually gotten the neighborhoods right. For the cars they were relatively close, but the hitman stuff was ridiculous. I'd find people in the high end retail district that were supposed to be in the Barrio. The one guy that was supposed to be in the red light district I found arena side edge of the projects riding fucking shotgun in some random pickup truck. Second, they could give a time frame for when those people could be found in certain areas. Or lastly, they could give you real-time info on where the person is. Not specificially but if you are searching for Tina and she is downtown and crosses into the high end retail district, it could change the area of where to look for her. At least then you still have to look for them but it's not annoying.
Tired of standby bitches in MP!!
I can't go for more than a few games without people screaming about people using standby. Really, more often than not it's probably just lag. Hopefully the patch will clean it up somewhat.

Werid thing happened in the game. I was at Rim Job and Saw a guy looking off of a cliff into the water. I get close to him and he yell's "I didn't know it was my sister" and then he jumped off and killed himself. The guy looked like a redneck truck driver so it made it even more funny. Good Stuff
do the missions in front of the church
The problem was that I hadn't done a lot of the gang pushbacks. Once I cleared those all out the 34/36 mission started and:

is it impossibe to get 36/36 on the statistics page because the game ends with 36/36(which isn't even mission)?

Has anyone else had ths game freezing?

It froze twice on me last night after only doing it once the first 15 or so hours.

It only froze on me once when I was re-trying the last Carnales mission.

So get this, I fucking saved over my 30% finished game with my roomies 2% finished game...

BUT!

I made a new game

Say hello to Mr. Norris

Shit...game just froze on me. First stronghold mission and I forgot to save, at least I'm not that far in. This had better not have constant lock ups like NCAA though. Lousy system.

Oh, and the no loading when entering buildings or new areas? Lovely. Just lovely.

One thing I reeeeeeally don't like is that the game dosen't auto save after a major event. I really would have liked it if it saved after each mission you completed. I was at level 8 on a Snatch activity, it froze, and I lost all of that work and had some minor things I did before it.

Was tempted to back out after level 6 and save the game, but I was on a good little roll. Damn it, what's wrong with the damn lousy box of a console?

You dont have to back out to save. I saved after beating every level in insurance fraud. Beat the level, press A to continue, press start, choose the Save options...and presto!
