You get $20 GC for purchasing MW3 and pre-ordering Diablo 3 or Prototype 2.

Target is the one who offers price matching and since Best Buy is selling it for 34.99 why shouldn't you price match for optimal savings?

It's more of a loop-hole then anything.

Target still gets a pre-order out of it.
I mean Diablo 3 is a good game if people actually pick up their pre-orders.

The whole GIVE THEM THE PREORDER CARD LAST instruction seems incredibly sketchy.
 
Looking at Target's PM policy it just seems they never accounted for this particular situation. You read through it and tells you everything about what they won't PM, but not how they handle these situations. Meaning, if BB was offering a $20 GC with purchas of MW3 and Pre-Order they would not match it per their own terms.

But in this case, they are offering a special promo on the item, and then pricematching the item price from another competitor. Logically, they probably should address this but they haven't. I think the glitch is working because the promo is a combo thing, buy two items and get GC.

The giving them the pre-order card last is not really sketchy, but it just seems some employees might see the GC pop up and then say "hmmm, this is off" when attempting to do the PM so giving it to them last after the PM lessens that.

The closest the policy comes to addressing it is stating it will only PM to identical items, but again the GC comes into play with a combo purchase so it is in a gray area.

A deal that is not sketchy is one that works no matter which order you check out in, regardless of what the cashier thinks. I'd prefer people say "yeah, I'm definitely taking advantage of this glitch" over people trying to justify how things are ok somehow.

The rule of thumb I use is if the cashier was someone who loved gaming and you couldn't be upfront about how the deal is fantastic and they should get it for themselves, then it's sketchy. Let's just call a spade a spade.

Honestly, I felt I had to try to do my best to not raise suspicions of clueless BB employees during the crazy month of march coupons, so trying to avoid an over eager employee trying to guard the store's money like his own is not a meter of how "shady" a deal is to me.

This deal is Buy X and Y and get Z free, it doesn't state X has to be a certain price to get this deal. It doesn't say PM do not apply. It is a loophole, glitch, etc. I don't think it's as sketchy as people are making it out to be.

If I recall, this forum was flooded with people taking advantage of the recent B1G1 glitch at BB too.

I went in today just to see if they had any $30 Uncharted/Remote Bundle clearance and PM MW3 with a pre-order of Prototype 2.

If you pick up your pre-order Target gives you $5 gift card as well, I mean it's not a steel-tin case but it's something.

I used my $20 TGC on AC:R (PS3) with AC1 Bonus Game DL. (PM 29.99 to 19.99 via BB Ad)
My cashier (who rang up both deals) was fine with it. Even commented, "Woah, nice."

Nothing sneaky about it. I presented both MW3 with the Prototype 2 pre-order card and asked if he would PM BB and presented him the ad (which he checked the listed price as well as the date). Then I went back to get AC:R because I notice these had the AC1 Bonus which is what I was looking for, he just chuckled as he rang me up.

Although, my brother mentioned that I shouldn't have been able to use TGC because I just received it that day. I didn't know that.

40.29 (CA Tax) for both games
