Hey guys, Sam Goody is offering an additional 50% clearance. Some good deals on games...

Although the deal does not included consumer electronics, the lady said she can use the discount for mp3 players, dvd players, and guitars....ymmv on this part of it....they had a huge bin of headphones, portable cd players, mp3 players that were included and had the "50% sticker" on them...this was in the San Diego Horton Plaza and North County Plaza locations....

The last time I was in a Sam Goody (two months) all their games were opened cases in little baggies, is this normal for Sam Goody because there are some good deals but i don't want some opened and possible used games.

I'm pretty sure they use "display" copies at Sam Goody.
 
This could be worth a trip to my local store. They have a good selection, but the prices always kept me away. So can anyone confirm this is nationwide?
 
Anyone willing to pick me up Monster Rancher and Hunter if Hunter is actually one sale.

I got a PSOne Screen for $25 after tax with this, since it was additional 50% after already reduced price
 
I jst stoped by the closest Sam Goody and the only clearence items they had were a couple books and some stupid action figures :|

Yeah, the sale might be nationwide but your selection will be very YMMV. I was in the local Sam Goody less than two weeks ago and most of the clearance items were books. They had a few crappy PC games, like Earth & Beyond for $6. That would be a decent deal if it wasn't an MMORPG that has shut down.

Feel bad for the poor sucker that buys that, guess it's only 6 bucks though.
 
I can't even remember if ours is still in business. I guess I'll have to drop through the mall and check. So is this just 50% a select few games or what? Are some CDs and DVDs included to?

Not at the mediaplay in Livonia, MI, or at least not yet... went there (before I saw this actually) and there were few clearance games, nothing at all like those listed above. Figures Sam Goody would have a sale after I finally leave Mt Pleasant.
 
I'm curious about the D&D game too. I can't remember any D&D games for the PS2. The only one I remember is for the Xbox called D&D Heroes.

This is what I found/saw in NJ - The CSRs said everything on "clearance" was marked with the appropriate markdown sticker: 25%, 50% or 75% Off. Here is what I remember - all prices are after discount (listed in parentheses):

Metal Arms: Glitch in the System - $5 (75%) Xbox, GC
Terminator 3: Rise of the Machines - $7.50 (75%) Xbox
The Hobbit - $7.50 (75%) Xbox, GC
All Madden 2005 Titles - $15 (25%) XBox
Prince Of Persia: Warrior Within - $30 (25%) Xbox

No GBA titles had clearance stickers.

Some are "display" copies, with broken seals - so even though its on the shelf, doesn't mean they have a sealed copy.
 
I think this IS YMMV.

I just visited a Sam Goody store in UTC, San Diego here and the guy knows NOTHING of this.

When I mentioned of this, he said it is probably a selected stores closing that's why they have 50% sale.

should have tried ringing up some games to make sure. if there's one thing i learned about being a CAG, it's that most employees don't even know that their games are on clearance/sale

This is NOT YMMW. The sale is even advertised over the instore radio at Sam Goody locations. I checked two stores in the DFW area and found signs for the 50% off clearance prices but found nothing at all. Wasn't really looking for games though. Was mainly looking for anime figures and such that they normally carry.

Definitely YMMV here. Found .Hack 2, .Hack 3, and D&D Heroes marked at $14.99 with a 25% off sticker. They rang them up at $11.24 each.

Also picked up Vexx for XBox for $1.88, which was actually marked as such on the shelf.

At my Sam Goody, it just said an extra 25% off of clearance items. At Suncoast on the other hand, it was 50%.

The Sam Goody near me also showed 25%, but when I payed it took the full 50% off.

I got Serious Sam (XB) and Metal Arms (XB) for $2.49 each.
 
I found Wind Waker at mine. Rang up $14.99 and the guy said I could have an additional 50% off of that price. So it was $7.49. At this store though they said I could only buy one clearance item per visit.

They also had some unleashed Star Wars figures on clearance ringing up 11.49 and then 50% off of that price.

Anyone know if hitmenow.com has the same prices as Sam Goody??? For some reason 4 Swords is still listed as $49.99 on MediaPlay.com :cry: And hitmenow only has used one for $15.99....
 
dont mean to bump this thread for no reason, but if this clearance sale is still going on, below is a coupon for 25% off any item at sam goody...it does say that it is "not cumulative with other offers on same product", so YMMV.

I just got back from the horton plaza superstore and they had a few xbox live communicators for %50 off.
Not a bad deal a'tall...

Just came home from my local Sam Goody in a 75% dead mall...but found some great stuff:

Gamecube backpack: $1.88
Super Mario Sunshine guide (Prima): $1.88
Xenosaga Ep. 1 guide (Brady): $1.88
.Hack Part 2 Mutation: $14.99 (new but gutted)

The price sticker on .Hack was $29.99, I asked for a price check, it came up $14.99!!! I was happy! They had Part 4 as well, but that one's still $49.99. Anyways, the $1.88 stuff are all in cardboard boxes in the middle of store with the "bling bling" looking signs.

One question: Since .Hack Part 2 was opened, they had a price sticker on the INSTRUCTION BOOKLET and the case. Anyone know of a way to remove those stickers without damaging the booklet or case?
 
this IS YMMV i had my sam goody scan one clearance clash shirt and it was only 25% off and then I bought a cd case that was marked at 1.88 on clearance and it got NO additonal percentage off.
 
YMMV at Media Play. Went today and they had several copies of Legends of Wrestling: Showdown for Xbox. All were marked $14.88 and rang up as such. No 50% off.
