I ordered Yuyu Hakusho Season 3, even though I already own it. But I bought it used so I bought it new. Now I have all 4 sets sealed. I will open soon and watch them. But my OCD was kicking in.

Wow...... Just wow. Can you give me some of that disposable money of yours. Thanks. That may very well make my signature

Looks like he's using the money he's saving on iPhone/iPod games on anime - I approve. Plus, we should never complain about someone purchasing anime multiple times, it just means 1 more sale to help us get something else licensed...

This situation is somewhat like people replacing Single discs with Thinpak collections...no harm in that.

Well, if it really looked "used" (scuffs, dents, to say nothing of chips tears and discoloring) then I can understand. I mean, it can be unnerving when your set doesn't match... Like having the crummy looking My-HiME litebox next to the oh-so-pretty My-Otome box set...
I'm annoyed ouran went up in price. Going to wait until the last moment to pull the trigger in hopes of getting it at 26.99.
You could still try to pick it up at your local Best Buy - I think it's still $26.99 there if they have it in stock (ends tomorrow though, so hurry).

Amazon.com changed the price for the Blu-Ray version of Witchblade back to $22.49.

Hurry if you still want it, sale ends soon :bouncy:

Damn, I gave up and ordered from DD after they hiked the price...oh well, $28 isn't terrible either...

just wondering if most of the bandai collection comes in those ugly anime legend cases?

also is there a way to check pictures of the actual collection of animes so I know what it looks like or if it comes with cases or what not

Google image search is probably your best bet.

The website Mania (used to be AnimeOnDVD) usually does an impeccable job reviewing the packaging on anime dvds and sets, but they don't always get review copies of every reprinting. That's the first place I check for info on the packaging and extras anyway, since 95% of Amazon reviews do nothing but analyze the series content.

Should I get Shana? I seem to hear it mentioned in various places, but I can't bring myself to trust what seems to be unanimously positive reviews.

I haven't watch the Shana anime (it is in my backlog), but I really enjoyed what I've read of the manga. And I hear good things from most people. Plus Rie Kugimiya voices Shana, which is always a positive for a series. :)

Shana isn't terrible, but it's not super-great either. It just kinda... exists.

Only thing I picked up was the Eva 1.11 bluray with some store credit. Other than that nothing I really care about owning. Mostly the same generic stuff I always seen during anime sales. I wish I could find Aria on sale one day, but I've yet to ever even hear of it being on sale.

Oh, Patlabor movies. Those prices on the LEs sound like a sweet deal, though if I had to buy one, I would probably get the second one. Already seen the first movie elsewhere.

Ordered my last set just now.....Basilisk finally showed up in my gold box. Total for this sale(across Amazon and BestBuy):

Amazon:
Basilisk (Gold Box)
Gunslinger Girl S1 (Gold Box)
Rin : Daughters of mnemosyne (Gold Box)
Claymore(Gold Box)
Samurai Champloo

Best Buy:
Samurai 7
Witchblade
Heroic Age

This pretty much starts my anime collection too - hope i like them =]

I couldn't help myself and placed an order.

Fullmetal Alchemist Season 1 box set
Fullmetal Alchemist Season 2 box set
Fullmetal Alchemist: Conqueror of Shamballa (Blu-Ray)
Ouran High School Host Club (Blu-Ray)
Shin Chan Season 2 Complete

got one last order in
got

Witchblade Blu ray set
Claymore Blu ray set

and sold my copies of Witchblade and Claymore on Craigslist for a total of $50 :D, so I paid $1.98 to upgrade my dvd's to blu ray.

Ordered:

Case Closed Season 1, 2, 3, 4, 5
Afro Samurai: Complete Season 1
Afro Samurai: Resurrection
Ergo Proxy
Gunslinger Girl: Season 1
Mushi-Shi: Complete

Ergo Proxy and Mushi-shi are 4-6 weeks out - it's really the only reason I went ahead and ordered them, otherwise I wouldn't be able to afford them.

Ergo Proxy is "Temporarily out of stock."

The "4-6 weeks" delivery date has been canceled. Good luck getting it :bouncy:

Couldn't resist either, despite spending $100 at BB right before Amazon started their sale too.

Gunslinger Girl 1st season, DVD version
Familiar of Zero
Black Lagoon: Second Barrage
Yu Yu Hakusho, all four seasons (sincerely doubt it'll ever get any cheaper)

Managed to restrain myself against ordering Lyrical Nanoha and Shana at least, by telling myself I should still be able to find them when the rest of the seasons eventually come out here.

Hmmm, well, that's what it said when I ordered. Hopefully I still get my copy...

You know the best part about being newly unemployed? Loads of free time to catch up on my game/movie/TV backlog! Maybe I shouldn't be adding to the heap (and reducing my money heap) by buying all this shit from the recent anime & Criterion sales... Eh, I'll be responsible later.

For this Amazon anime sale, my damage ended with...
Patlabor the Movie LE
Patlabor 2 the Movie LE
Shin Chan: Complete 1st Season
Shin Chan: Complete 2nd Season
Otaku no Video
Case Closed: Season 3
Case Closed: Season 4
Case Closed: Season 5
Familiar of Zero

I'm highly amused that other people are getting Familiar of Zero, personally I thought the show was damn funny, it just didn't strike me as a show a lot of other people would like

I'm just usually fond of JC Staff's animation style (can't wait for Index and Railgun), and the first disc i netflixed sold me on Familiar.

I enjoyed it too.

That would be awesome. There are fan subs available for streaming, but I would love to own English dub dvds of the second and third season.
