Scribblenauts - New Concept on Interaction - From Drawn To Life Devs
I put in "edison" and a dinosaur came out. Does this make sense to anyone?
I looked up on Dictionary.com to see if edison was some sort of dinosaur I never heard of, and it's not. Weird.

Yea weird... it has a bandanna though. And it is super strong.

Also, I keep trying things people say they did here. Because, I feel like they are making it up or stretching the truth to make the game seem more awesome. And I try it and it works... haha.

This game is really awesome. It gets really fun when you do the Advance mode (I think that is how the game should be played).

I agree. It's usually not too hard to simply beat the stage. But to beat it again and again not using the same items? Sweet. I get crazy merits just by trying all kinds of items, usually the 2nd or 3rd time I'm playing a level in advanced mode. It's great seeing just what merits there are.

I just assumed all dinosaurs in the game dressed like that.

Interesting,, I'll have to try out some more names later.

John's some long-haired fat guy who'll eat most of the food you put on the ground.

Brett follows ladies around, even little girls.

Both are human though, not bandanna wearing dino's.

I've been spending all my 'ollars unlocking all the avatars (except that elusive last one I'm seeing), and I've nearly bought all the songs. I was like, wow, I sure won't need 'ollars anymore. Until I happened to finally finish all the levels in the first world in advanced mode. I only happened to have just enough to unlock the 2nd world. Granted, I could have gone back and played some levels over real quick, but I'm glad I could move on.

Yea, you aren't alone there. It didn't occur to me that I'd need to buy the other worlds. Oh well at least I had the Witch avatar for the halloween level, I felt that was appropriate. I gave them tricks instead of treats: a ghost, a monster, and a zombie. I tried using the wand to turn them into frogs, but that made me fail the level.

I'll probably get a lot of crap for this, but...

I really don't like this game. The controls can get frustrating. I've had to start stages over many times because I missed choosing an item I wanted Max to pick up by a pixel and he walked/ran to his death, or NPC's won't let me put something in a basket or pick something up, etc. Some of the stages are too easy (need a starite that's up high? Here's your answer for every one of these puzzles: jetpack) or give you no direction whatsoever. I'll give it a few more days, but if it doesn't turn me, then one of those 128 people on goozex will be able to get a copy real soon.

If you're using "jetpack" or "wings" in every stage, you're doing it wrong.

Seconded. I try to come up with new ways to do the same thing every time. If you want more variety, I highly recommend playing the stages over in advanced mode.

Other cool means of flight:
pteradon, Pegasus

For some reason I can't think of any other cleverer ways to dig than shovel and bulldozer, and bulldozers are only handy for imprecise digging. Can someone recommend another way?

Pickaxe and Adze, but I was hoping for something more creative too.

Yesterday, I ended up riding a unicycle with a lasso around a chupacabra which was chasing after a goat I placed just out of its reach. I love this game.

jackhammer or mole, maybe?

sphinx
winged shoes
roc or archaeopteryx (same graphic)
pterodactyl (same as pteranodon)
helicopter
jet
fighter jet
stealth bomber
reindeer
dragon (after taming)

I'll try some of these recommendations to see if it spices up things more. One good thing I have to say about the game it that is seems to have a strong online community where people share different solutions to the puzzles, which is nice. I guess I'm just missing something.

Try "digger" and you'll get one of those crane digging machines. "Jackhammer" works too. Regardless of what you use, it all works the same... which is kinda lame. If you want to be really lazy, sometimes you can just use "hole" and put a hole in the ground.

I really like the game but I hate controlling Maxwell.

BTW, anybody have any advice for this one? It's world 5 or 6, I can't remember:
It's the one where you have to do two things to celebrate a wedding and there's a bunch of people waiting outside with the bridge and groom and there's also a limo. I tried putting a cake out there, confetti (it's just a pile of confetti which doesn't nothing...), a bouquet, priest but can't figure it out. I even tried dragging the bride and groom (which wasn't easy) to the limo but couldn't figure out how to get them inside it.

huh, wings suck too. I only tried them once, but they're just like jet packs and flying carpets. you can only temporarily fly.

Flying cars are small and can fly forever so I think I'll start using them instead. But I do appreciate that the bombers and fighter planes have weapons that you can use.

Speaking of weapons, are there any guns that have unlimited ammo? I notice most of the ones I use run out of ammo after a couple of shots.

I believe I got mine with bouquet put on the girl, and wedding cake. Regular cake wont work.

Has anyone done anything useful with a pulley? I've tried to rig one up to a rope a couple times but it doesn't seem like the pulley can be used for anything helpful.

Thanks, I'll try that. I tried to put in some wine and champagne but those things aren't allowed...:whistle2:?

Having so much fun with this game. I even played the title/start screen for almost an hour before I started the main game!

The hat is going for some crazy prices on ebay.....I love wearing it around though. Will definitely use it when it gets colder.

So, out of curiosity, do you guys enjoy the puzzle levels or the action levels more?

For me, it's the puzzle levels. They're more relaxing and fun to me. The action levels tend to end in frustration as I either can't do something I want to do or I keep getting screwed by the iffy controls, so I end up falling back on the same items. I'm not proud of it, because I really do try some creative solutions, but I end up frustrated when they keep failing.

Ya that's how I feel about the games the controls suck so I keep on just using god and a jet pack to beat the levels.

My thoughts exactly. As creative as I try to be, things don't work out and I end up using the same old cheap items.

They are in it in more ways than one..

I was playing for the first real amount of time and am at the ending of stage 1.. where there are the three flowers to get. I did get them and actually have a 1 item that can be used to get all three...

However when I went to advanced mode I tried to get to that third flower and wrote teleporter..

And I summed two teleporters, thinking it would shoot me out at the other one, by the flower... It does not, it actually takes you to a hidden room with all the creators. It looks as though its back at the university, but they are all there it seems... as well as one who is a zombie, then theres a PC and a fridge in the stage as well as a car of some sort.

I started playing around in the level and the zombie came down, so I wrote sun and put it by her, she hid in the corner.. I could not find much else to do so I went back to my level.

I will say it started my level over when I returned. But it was cool.

You can also tie a tin can to the limo with rope.

I tried a gopher and it didn't do shit. Maybe a mole would have worked.

Edit: Nevermind, I see that doesn't work either. I was also disappointed in the bulldozer not allowing me to plow through a wall of dirt. (This was one of the beginning levels where you can either go over, under the water, or through the dirt. I just ended up using scuba gear to swim through the water. Lame, I know :( )

Definitely puzzles. With the puzzles, I'm much more creative. On the action levels, I end up getting frustrated and 'cheat' my way out. Like dropping lions in all the cells on the 'prison break' level to clear out the people before I touch the red switch.

I had the same thought about using teleporters to get to the other side of a wall and went to the same place (dev studio). If you go back through the teleporter and then use it again, it'll send you to a different place. Can't recall how many times before it loops back to the dev studio.

I used a pterodactyl to get all three flowers, so that was my 1 item solution. Not one of my more creative answers.

Yeah mine is really not creative so to say, its
a fan "tool". Blows the bee into the water and then it ges killed by the fish. Drop it on the ledge and it blows the flower to you. The flower in the water either can be jumped in and grabbed without dying or I did actually drop the fan in the water to kill the fish. However on my 3 solution challenge mode the fan fried the flower as well... so maybe it doesnt always work, but it did work for me on two occasions... The first time I used the fan to kill the bee and fish it worked, then I used a helicopter to get the 3rd flower and it killed it when I landed... so the second time I used the fan for all three flowers. uncreative, but diverse.

Friggen fail. The special Scribblenauts announcement was a contest to win a signed strategy guide. Dammit... I was really looking forward to something interesting.

I'm at 8-11 puzzle and I am officially stumped
The hint says something about being precise at 88. Obviously a reference to Back to the Future, especially with the set-up, but I have no clue what I am suppose to do.
