Sean Penn: Armed to Keep Those Blacks at Bay

PittsburghAfterDark

CAGiversary!

I don't know what's funnier. That or him trying to empty out his sinking 2 man bass boat with a 16 oz. disposable cup.

You gotta love those people who act all non violent and are anti guns but then they do shit like that. Wasn't it also Sean Penn who had a gun in his car when it was stolen? Whoops, there's another gun on the street. Another one is Rosie O'Donnel, sure she hates guns and conducts rallies against them but if they're being carried by the men she pays to protet her children then its no problem whatsoever. Most of all I just fucking hate the outspoken hollywood liberals.

Edit- BTW, while I agree with the nature of your thread, pointing out Sean Penn's hypocrisy, I find the title to be extremely offensive.

who said anything about 'blacks' ???

you reveal yourself so eagerly in your haste to throw a rock at a celebrity's head...

btw if you were in NO during the first few days you would have been carrying a gun too

;)
you go play with your toys and let the grown-ups talk sweetie, k?

Still doesn't change the fact that Kanye brought race into it.

I am black. I don't think Bush or Penn is racist. But people sure do like to play up race when it is a minor or coincidental issue don't they?

Bush has problems admitting mistakes IMO. Penn is just a joke altogether.

I've thought this for awhile, Guile, and yet I don't know how to approach it without making it sound personal (you may take it as you will).

You often argue that, in your view, racism is dead except for those who point it out. You also seem to often argue that race shouldn't be taken into account (for a variety of reasons). With that in mind, why do you so frequently point out that you are black?

I have no problem at all with your question.

I don't think racism is dead but it is overstated. The class differences make more sense as an argument. In this day and age, when the minority vote is so important to every candidate, it is ridiculous to think that a catastrophe of this magnitiude was affected primarily by race. There will always be pockets of people who refuse to change narrow minded ways (Vidor, Texas and Jasper,Texas just to name two), but people in this country as a whole have made HUGE strides since the 60's. Yes, more work is needed but it goes both ways. Not all white cops are pigs, for example....

I point out I am black because people need to know that not all black people immediately jump to the race card. I have experienced real racism before.

I posted this in another topic...

They didn't know that was my dad. When the black guys that were outsiders were told by my dad they had to go they immediately said he was racist. The students knew he was my dad as as soon as the dumb-ass outsiders said that they said "Oh shit" because they knew I was going to respond. I walked right up to them and said WTF? "That is my father. Look at him then look at me. He is doing his job." They all looked at me shocked and felt like total asses because they didn't know he was my dad. The only reason I didn't knock them the fuck out is because I respected my father's position enough not to do it.

The actions of the state and federal governments are more about poor planning or even stupidity.

Some choice quotes about race from PAD's favorite web forum...

http://www.freerepublic.com/focus/f-chat/1481877/posts

A "refugee" uh, American, at Houston Astrodome just complained that Red Cross and FEMA were GD frauds because he couldn't activate his 2k debit card. Asked what he wanted to happen, he said he should be given 20,000 to get his life going. Used a few "F" words to make his point on national TV..

I saw it also. It is disgusting. His use of race and slave-ships and the white woman on his arm tells me he is a racist using racism when it is convenient. I hope this guy gets NOTHING!!!

This is what happens when you give the non-achievers a sense of entitlement.
This nation really needs to reinstitute the teach-a-man-to-fish principle. We didn't become great by being a socialist welfare state.

Black racists are every bit as vile as white ones. And because of the hard work of the poverty pimps like Sharpton and Jackson, they are not in short supply!

They need to be exposed not just let off the hook. I am sick of racism only going in one direction. I didn't make them poor, nor did I surpress them, they should look to their own for those answers. I can't help that they do nothing to get out of their situations. What was glaring during this whole thing to me is that I did not see any images of them helping EACH OTHER. It was every man for himself attitude yet whity is suppose to hold out his hand filled with dollars and clean up the dead that were left on the streets.

I'm wondering what he bought with the money.
I can tell you this. They were at my Wal-Mart in force last night. Buying electronics, tvs, cds etc . . . I am thinking that $2000.00 is supposed to get them on their feet. The salvation Army said no more clothes donations. The evacuees don't want used. They want new clothes. Okay. They want mass transit. Our area doesn't have it, but they got out of the area busses to bus them around. They need budgeting skills and job counselors and someone to help them to adjust to what we have. Everyone that has talked to them said they were NOT going back to NO. Fine, but they need help adjusting.

I agree; a plant.
I think the government cut the debit card off when it was discovered he really is from Houston. (My opinion only.)

He didn't have a Louisiana accent, either.
And...was that girl with him his girlfriend or a hostage? She sure didn't look very happy.
I would tell that guy we are thinking about giving him some money after he passes a criminal background check. I bet he would skedaddle real quick!

Yep this con-artist has "race card plant" stink all over him. They'll be more and egged on by the anti-American MSM film crews. They're so transparent and obvious. $20,000.00 dollars, yeah right.

I'm wondering if it isn't some kind of set up...People just trying to get on camera, because I'm sure he didn't get a white girl on the slave ships.
Oh that has nothing to do with it does it? I'm just not having a good day

How the hell did he spend $700 so fast?
From the looks of him...probably gold jewelry.

He needed his mouth washed out with soap!

That able bodied man should be given a one way ticket, and shovel, and sent back today to New Orleans to help clean up "his" town, instead of someone else doing it for him.
$2000 could've bought him a ticket back to his 'ancestral home'. You know, the one he left on that slave ship he so fondly remembers. Chance to repatriate himself with his fifth-sixth-seventh cousins 10 times removed that are still back home in the old country.

That's the problem.
Debit cards are effective for "on-going" welfare admin where recipients are properly vetted.
Current situation requires fast response, but can't vet applicants...
Ergo, a fast response system is needed that can have charge backs for fraud later...ie no debit cards after reasoned thought

His first 8itch was the Benjamin's were cut off after only drawing out 700 bucks from the FEMA debit card. Then he really got nasty, while the White girl on his arm smiled at him adoringly.
Rather sickening scene he made in all respects.

So you're more inclined to side with social scientists like William Julius Wilson (or at least his earlier, more well known work)?

Interesting anecdote; thanks for the thoughtful comments (god only knows I'd get flamed the *one* time I'm not begging for it!)

I don't enjoy flaming. I think the only person I may have flamed was DDF, and that was only because nothing was done about him trolling in topics for more than a year.

I don't say much in the vs. forum to start with, so me flaming someone would be pointless. I just check things out from time to time.

I assume in your use of mercenary that you are referring to the Blackwater Security agents that are in New Orleans? Plain and simple this is an ignorant assumption based solely on the word mercenary.

You do realize that since the Blackwater agents are not part of a government agency that they are held to even higher scrutiny than police and national guard? This means that if they do shoot someone they have to be pretty damn certain that they are within their rights because instead of facing reprimand or being fired they will be arrested.

Its ironic that you have a problem with PAD's stereotypical, prejudiced thread title (as do I) yet you use a stereotype?

I guess u misunderstood, I was talking about if there are all these armed men all over the place why cant someone else be armed too. Obviously they think that the weapons are needed, so why not him.

For your infomation PAD Sean Penn actually saved quite a few people firsthand. WTF did you do? Oh yea, his boat was never sinking in the first place and the photographer was not his personal photographer. He was from a local newspaper which donated quite a lot to the Katrina relieve. Maybe you should praise Penn for actually saving people instead of believing some bogus news from a tabloid. But then again you seem to be happy and laughing your ass off that a lot of poor black people died or suffered. It's a shame you weren't trapped in the superdome getting raped and killed, because that's what you deserve you sick sadistical fuck.

Yes but I've gotta believe that there would be sufficient National Guard and police in whatever area that he was choosing to help with to the point that he wouldn't need to cowboy up and act like he's in a frickin action movie.

What a country we live in when someone that thinks they're very compassionate and enlightened can wish rape and death on someone because they don't think they're as equally compassionate and enlightened as they are.

I have to wonder what type of firearm training experience Sean Penn has. Is he trying to look like a badass, or would he actually be able to defend himself?
I have to wonder what type of firearm training experience Sean Penn has. Is he trying to look like a badass, or would he actually be able to defend himself?
I'd say a lot of column A and a little of column B. The point I'm making is that there should be sufficient security surrounding him that it wouldn't be necessary for him to carry a shotgun, especially considering that he prides himself in being such an outspoken anti-war/violence activist. That doesn't mean I don't think people may have (and perhaps still do) needed weapons in NO, but simply that I don't think EVERY single person needs a gun.

Wow! You guys really will bash someone who went to help people. That takes a lot of chutzpah.

I don't agree with everything Sean Penn says or does but damn, he helped save some people.
