Ok,

Here is a trade list for this thread!

I was passing by the game section while overhearing the employee talk about all 2 of their Xbox 360 systems they got in...

I noticed a few of the games were oddly priced..

Urbz, wario and Pokemon DS we $24.94 or some such thing.

There were many games this way so I am not sure if its a YMMV or what? No SALE signs were there and the tags were a plain white. It seemed to me that they were the current prices.

Here's a compiled list of everybody's finds so far in the thread. The price following the game title are the different reported prices.

All prices and availability is YMMV, and a lot of it seems to depend on the cashier. A lot of these games aren't in the system, and in many cases they won't sell them to you. Two options here:

A)If a game isn't in the computer when scanned, the cashier can try typing in the Stock number that is on the sticker for the game on the shelf.

B)Some people have had success bringing up another known priced game and getting both for that price.

As promised this project has been updated... I am sure something is wrong somewhere but its pretty up to date. If two prices are listed thats because I got multiple reports of either price.
 
Also thanks spamfree2 for the heads up on Pricegrabber. Hopefully I can find my receipts because I can get rebates on Bujingai, Tiger Woods 05' and NCAA MM 05'.:)

I may have to go grab that last copy of ICO for $9.97 down the line from me tomorrow, before someone else grabs it. I had never thought about buying it before, but someone who works at an indy game shop described the game to me in a way that just..... it intrigued me and piqued my interest.

Now, if Sony would just hurry the heck up and drop price on the PStwo, then I might consider buying one to play it on. LOL

On a somewhat related note, if I keep trading in copies of Powerdrome from various EB game stores to FYE, I will have enough credit soon to grab a PStwo from FYE for the sum total of 10 copies of PD and 2 copies of Geist.

And, with the 30 dollar mail in rebate from FYE for the PStwo, that will make it a $6 system.
 
On a hunch, I took one of those $2.97 Carmen Sandiego games for PS2 to my local Gamecrazy, they're giving $14.xx for it on trade. Just an FYI, sorry if it's a repost.

Curses upon ditsy electronics department employees. I stopped by the Columbia Mall Sears to pick up the copy of Taiko Drum Master that they've had for as long as I can remember. I took it up to the register and asked the lady to price check it. First she tried to tell me that it was $249, because someone had stuck a PSP shelf label on the box. I explained to her that it was not a PSP, that MSRP was $49.99, and it should be marked down to $9.99. When she scanned it, it wasn't in the computer. She decided to call other stores to see if anyone knew the price.

"Do you have a Drum Master set for PS2?" she asked each store. Of course, they replied that they'd never heard of that and had never had any in stock. Finally, she told me that her manager wasn't there, and she couldn't set a price for me. How annoying. I ended up leaving without the game; maybe I'll give it a try another day, but every time I go, she's the one that's working.

I'll say it again, WISH I HAD A GAMECRAZY NEAR ME. I miss out on many deals because of no Gamecrazy or Frys near me.
 
My sears had a cart of 5$ games for all systems, quite a large selection - unfortunately I only have a working GC. Was a nice visit, thank you for the thumbs up.

I wonder if the individual store just decided to mark those games down aside from the regular clearance prices because I saw Tiger Woods 2005 for $14.97 at 2 different Sears stores. Would be awesome if all those games dropped in price again though
 
I snagged the last copy of ICO at one of my local Sears stores(Wilkes Barre, PA) tonight. It was only $10.57 with tax. I also traded in another copy of Powerdrome racing to the FYE at the mall there. That makes my total in credit at FYE around 80-90 or so and thats just since I started swapping in copies of Geist and Powerdrome en masse.

I'm sure they will catch up with me soon and drop the trade in price for PD nationally. But dangit, I hope it isn't until I have enough in credit to grab a PStwo from them. And with the $30 rebate from FYE for the PStwo, that would mean I'd be getting the system for between $6-20.
 
Thanks for the heads up on Game Crazy, I've got to check them out. I keep putting it off to trade stuff there since they are out of the way and I know the Sears around me have tons of those Carmen Sandiego games.
 
Apologies if someone has already mentioned this.

Be sure that you really want the games you get at Sears. Their return policy is one of the worst -- you can't return or exchange videogames after 14 days, even if the game is unopened.

The slight silver lining is that their pricematching is good for 30 days.
 
I have never had any problem bringing games passed the 14 day mark. As long as it is un-opened they will usually take it back. I've done this a few time already. I have also returned stuff without restocking fees even though it was marked so.

I guess it depends on the clerk. I got unlucky this week, and the clerk refused to take it back, citing the 14 day limit. And it was unopened, and they had more of the same game on the shelves. I bought it less than a month ago.

It's enough to make me think twice, because I hate wasted trips. Especially to Sears.

Website where you can obtain $5 rebate checks for playing a game you bought, writing a short review and submitting Proof of purchase info. These are great all the time, but are really great when you find games that are >$5.
 
snagged the last copies of ico and downhill domination from a sears in belleville, IL over the weekend. also got astro boy for gba. ten dollar game sales are a beautiful thing.

edit: i just realized that between this, the best buy coupon, the circuit city clearance, the toys r us 10 dollar game sale, and the kb clearance, i've got well over 30 new games to play through, and that's just from stuff i bought since christmas. i think this website finally brought games over from "hobby" to "full blown addiction."
 
Has anyone picked or scanned the price of the metroid gamecube bundle, recently? I heard in another thread that someone got one for $50 over a year ago, I got a feeling its YMMV, but would like to know if its universal now with the Revolution coming and this recent sale of 50% off selected games?
 
I saw a price tag for the Metroid bundle in December for $80 (when people were getting it for $50 in 2004, I scanned it and it scanned for $100), so I think that price is accurate.

I had just about given up all hopes of finding anything good... Somehow, they stocked up the clearance bin with not DVDs, but with a bunch of games. Picked up Astro Boy: Omega Factor for $9.97, good times.
 
Checked out Sears yesterday. Picked up Sly 2 for $10. :)

It had the sale tag on it for the first Sly Cooper. So the clerk gave me the sale price after getting a manager to clear it. Lucky me.
 
The SEars at Stonebriar amll in Frisco has a bunch of War of the Monsters PS2. Didn't see much else, but there was a large clearance bin and I didn't really look at the FPS or sports titles.

Sears is gona bleed me dry. My buys today. Pokemon Fire Red w/ adapter-13 bucks, Mario Golf GBA-5 Bucks - Kingdom Hearts COM---5 DOLLARS!!! i bought the 2 that they had.
 
LOL Ya know, if I hadn't already played the glitchy mess that is Shaolin Monks, I would buy it from this clearance. But eh, I had it for one of the systems and it was craptacular.

Now, Ninja Gaiden Black and Spartan Total Warrior I might grab, assuming I don't find anything on my trip to AC on Monday into Tuesday at the Circuit City and Best Buy stores.

And, I may well go to CC and grab 25 to Life. At $19.99, its right in the range I want to pay for MAX price on a game anymore.

It's YMMV on that, I printed out the UPC codes for a bunch of the games the he listed for $5 and scanend them at the price checker and they all scanned for more than $5. I think it was that individual store that marked down games more than everyone else.
 
It must be only my sears. They don't seem to have the deals that everybody else is getting, but instead a cart stocked with games with a sign over it saying everything on it is $5.00. I sunk to my knees when I got there and saw first Pikmin 2 and then Battalion Wars, two games I've been waiting to get.
