The old Sears clearance thread was almost a year old, so I've taken the liberty of creating this one. I went back and wrote down the drops and lowest reported prices so far for all of 2007. The games may ring up more or less for you as prices are YMMV (your mileage may vary). The games should ring up at some sort of clearance price at every Sears store that carries games. They may not be tagged on clearance at your store, so you should have them scanned to find out what they ring up as. My local Sears rarely tags the clearance games, so I have to refer to this list. Games drop out of the system about a month after they hit $0.97.

Some clearance games at Sears were restocked over the holidays with new UPC stickers over the original UPC. These are ringing up $9.99-$19.99 as marked for now.

These prices are good at Sears, Sears Essentials, and Sears Grand stores.

Lowest reported prices (games may ring up less or more at your store):

If you have a new game or lower price to list, post it here and I'll update the OP periodically. Even if a game is only a few dollars off, please report it here. The price WILL drop on a regular basis. When reporting a price, please give us the game title AND system.

Here's a link to the old thread: http://www.cheapassgamer.com/forums/showthread.php?t=103736

In my experience, the list of clearance games at Sears isn't YMMV, but the specific clearance prices are (prices drop at different speeds at different stores. Also, people keep complaining that the clearance games are ringing up $15-20 at their stores. If they would actually read this post, they'd know that's because those are restocked holiday games with new UPC tags. The old stock of those games should still ring up on clearance if you can find them.

And because people can't read, I'll say it again:

PRICES ARE ALL YMMV!
PRICES ARE ALL YMMV!
PRICES ARE ALL YMMV!

Looks like they're only going for $20-$30 now. I'd guess a bunch of folks have sold/traded their GCs for Wiis, and thus created a surplus of Gameboy Players.

Would I be able to call my Sears and ask them to scan these games to see if they're good? Or would I have to go there in person? (I haven't seen anyone mention calling them...)

Decided to check on the GB Micro today after seeing this thread. The Famicom 20th Anniversary Edition rang up $37.97 at my local Sears WITHOUT any price matching. Hope this works for some other CAG out there too.

what? $113.91 for a GB Micro.

Just came to check out my local Sears today and they have:
Cars (Xbox 360) $19.97
Tony Hawk's American Wasteland (Xbox 360) $11.97
Halo 2 $17.97

Never EVER EVER EVER EVER EVER 'just call' the stores, because if there's another gamer working that dept and they see the cheap prices of those games(if they even have them in stock), they may well buy them all up before you even GET there. Or, at least they may buy some that had you just waited and gone there yourself, YOU could've found and bought.

I see. So I guess it's just a matter of luck and hoping they will be there and cancelling out the gas I have to pay for since the 2 closest Sears to me are still pretty far away :bomb:

I just became unemployed, so this had been a godsend. Thanks for the updates guys!

Got the Famicon Micro for $35, and the regular micros for $33.xx

Also: MP 7 GC Bundle is still $99, but the Pokemon XD bundle is $89.

Halo 2 sounds like a good price, but I'll hold off until it universially drops to less than $20 since most will probably jump on this deal.

Also, hey if you're my area there are tons of Halo 2 just leave me one Famicom Micro. I have been waiting to pick one up ever since Black Friday sold out! :(

did you have to PM the micros to get it at $35 or is it at that price?

They ring up that price.

The regular micros weren't in the system. THe rep called another sears store and got the code to lookup, then came up with the $33 price.

stopped by Sears on my way home from taking my van to the shop,
the they had just marked some stuff down according to the clerk (was cool guy) he even pointed out what he had changed to tickets (with May) showing % off

I picked up

GC
Paper Mario: 1000yr Door $9.97
Chibi-Robo $5.97
DragonBallz: Budokai (PH) $3.97

PS2
Ratchet & Clank: Up Your Arsenal $6.97
DragoBallz: Budokai (GH) $3.97

He said he had purchased the last 360 himself and was watching the 360games, none were below $20 and all the other games PSP, XB, GBA, DS were similiar with slim pickens and nothing low priced

I was just at a Sears looking for a $35 Famicom GB Micro and had no luck.

I did manage to pick up Final Fantasy Advance V for $19.99.

It was in a bin of games with signage stating all games $19.99 and under. It rang up $29.99 at the register. I pointed out where I got it to the cashier, he conferred with his associates and marked it down $10. Since my Sears didn't have any GBA games on the shelf anymore, I'm pretty sure I could have talked any game that rang up over $19.99 to that price so it is something others might want to check out.

I scored a couple of GBA Micro 20th Anniversary Editions around Pittsburgh...they were marked and rang up $33.97. I also swung by TRU and picked up the neoprene slipcases for them for $.60 cents each...not a bad deal!

I'm so glad no one is checking this thread anymore :D

I snagged a 20th Anniversary Famicom Micro for $39.97 at the local Sears... wish it had been a few dollars cheaper, but I'm not going to complain at all.

The tag still said $69.99

I got a black one a Kmart for $35, so I had no need to go check Sears. ;)

I found and picked up a 20th anniversary on Friday as well... it was tagged $48, rang up $43. I thought about attempting a K*Mart price match, but figured I've scored so many great clearance deals at Sears via this site over the past 6 months, perhaps the few extra dollars would be like a karmic offering. Or maybe I'll just be passing out on a to go lunch at work next week... :)

Anywho, for those in the Tampa area still on the hunt, the Sears at Brandon Town Center still had a black micro set as of this past Friday evening.

I know it's not on clearance but I felt like mentioning that I got DDR Mario Mix today for $49.99. Actually, it does seem like a clearance (from the EBay prices) :)

According to prior posts, people have been finding this game (though rarely) at Sears. So you may want to check your local Sears if you're really on the lookout for this game.

I saw :gc: Chibi Robo for $4.99, Hot Shots Golf :psp: for $9.99 and one copy of :gc: Super Mario Strikers for $19.99 at Sears in Lafayette, La.

I successfully price matched Kingdom Hearts 2 ps2 $9.99 from the CC sale at sears plus I got an extra 10% off total $8.99 plus tax.

Dang it, I wish I knew about the 10% off before buying them in CC :bomb:

Very nice move, dude. :applause:

nice one ... I think the only store that wont price match besides Eb/gamestop is kmart for sure...

Take them ad's around, there are tons of KHII, RE4, And Tekken 5 games around
nice one ... I think the only store that wont price match besides Eb/gamestop is kmart for sure...
Toysrus and Target will not price match.

rainbow six: critical hour (xbox) $11.97
call of duty 2: big red one (xbox) $11.97
call of duty 2: big red one (collector's edition - xbox) $14.97

Damnnnnnnnn I just acquired a Gamecube with digital out as well as Nintendo component cables. I need some games and just wow. I need to check out my Sears.

fremont cali sears has SRS for $12!!! Don't know if it's worth even that much but just wanted to mention it to you all.
I saw Black (PS2) for only $11.97 at my Sears in Canton, Ohio. Not a bad price for a good game.
PS2 version is not worth $5. I recommanded XBOX version instead

Well I found the PS2 version enjoyable.

Only problem is the levels take ages and have far too few checkpoints. You get wasted and you could lose 30-45 minutes of work. If this were any other genre of game, half the board would be all over the game just for that fact, as it is TEH OLD SKOOL ;)

Black is a great FPS and underated.. people tend to hark it because it did not have online or multiplayer.. But for the first shooter the burnout guys made it was a hell of a game..

Yah, I found a couple copies buried in a display case at Sears around Christmas when it was $150 on Ebay. Paid for a few Christmas gifts. I opened one copy to play...the game is pretty easy/boring compared to other DDR games in my opinion...sold my open copy on half.com for $120 or so.

This is something I've never understood about these giant clearance lists at major retailers.

You guys in middle America must have amazing stores that stock all these games, because out here in LA, and probably all major cities, when I go to places like Toys R Us, KMart, Target, Sears, Best Buy etc for these clearance games listed, even if it's within a few days of the list coming out, they don't have anything. I mean NOTHING.

OP updated to this point.

This is because you live in an area where video games sell BEFORE they have to be clearanced out. If you live in the middle of nowhere, your Sears is more likely to have to clearance out games to get rid of them than a Sears in LA with many, many more potential customers. Ideally, stores want to be busy enough that they don't have to clearance out anything.

This is true, at least in my experience. Going out to stores in San Francisco, as well as surrounding places, clearance games and penny guides are hard to come by. I'm probably not looking hard enough though.

My Sears had a bin full of $19.99 and less games all marked with an additional 20% off. I didnt see any games I was looking for. Is this happening at all Sears?

LoL sorry but I live in Wisconsin just outside of Milwaukee and I have just as hard of a time finding these games on these big lists at the major stores..

One important fact especially if it's a nationwide sale at every store those titles that get put on the list go on sale, but if the store doesnt have it to begin with anymore they are not going to magically appear. If the list is put out and you have it in stock you sell it at that price if you dont have it oh well then your workers in the electronics department have less to do and more time to playGuitar Hero....

Me personally have not hit anywhere as close to the hauls that some of these other people have found.
One other thing you have to remember about the people living in smaller areas is that we don't have as many of the same stores as you do and what we do have is spread out a little more so they do get hit just as hard seeing there is not as many places to go..

thanks

i live in NYC and i used to shop around the city just to find my CAGames. the only really deal i found was Baldur's Gate: DA 2 for the Ps2 at CC on 86th st for $16.96. the fact that I had 1 quarter that day, which lasted 10 minutes of parking at the meter VS the 3 blocks that I have to walk to get to CC and back, barely made it in time by 1 minute. a parking ticket of $60 will not make my trip a Cheap Ass trip.

i guess my point is that i basically gave up finding games in the city. the more people there is, the less likely youll find anything. i've gotten the hang of driving to the stores like CC, TRU and GS/EB in new jersey. hell i've even driven to connecticut, 35 miles away just to get a few games. it pays off because you will find the items you are looking for (70% to 80% of the time), and then more most the time. it also helps to have a GPS system in the car. my tip is to find that store thats far away from everything else. alot of the stores where theres low traffic could sometimes lead to lazier employees. beneficial for us cause the games do not get priced as it supposed to, so they tend to last longer in the shelf until someone reports that X is now marked as $X.

That might be true in the case of the CCs you go to in NJ. The one I go to isn't exactly bustling with people but it's also the closest one for a relatively large area. So, either every CAG here raids that one and/or the employees do because I can never find any of the deals there.
