The old Sears clearance thread was almost a year old, so I've taken the liberty of creating this one. I went back and wrote down the drops and lowest reported prices so far for all of 2007. The games may ring up more or less for you as prices are YMMV (your mileage may vary). The games should ring up at some sort of clearance price at every Sears store that carries games. They may not be tagged on clearance at your store, so you should have them scanned to find out what they ring up as. My local Sears rarely tags the clearance games, so I have to refer to this list. Games drop out of the system about a month after they hit $0.97.

Some clearance games at Sears were restocked over the holidays with new UPC stickers over the original UPC. These are ringing up $9.99-$19.99 as marked for now.

These prices are good at Sears, Sears Essentials, and Sears Grand stores.

Lowest reported prices (games may ring up less or more at your store):

If you have a new game or lower price to list, post it here and I'll update the OP periodically. Even if a game is only a few dollars off, please report it here. The price WILL drop on a regular basis. When reporting a price, please give us the game title AND system.

Here's a link to the old thread: http://www.cheapassgamer.com/forums/showthread.php?t=103736

In my experience, the list of clearance games at Sears isn't YMMV, but the specific clearance prices are (prices drop at different speeds at different stores. Also, people keep complaining that the clearance games are ringing up $15-20 at their stores. If they would actually read this post, they'd know that's because those are restocked holiday games with new UPC tags. The old stock of those games should still ring up on clearance if you can find them.

And because people can't read, I'll say it again:

PRICES ARE ALL YMMV!
PRICES ARE ALL YMMV!
PRICES ARE ALL YMMV!

Thanks for organizing the more recent info OP. I haven't been to my Sears in months. I should stop in and see what I can find.

Sweet man, I hope the local Sears stores haven't been raided yet!

Update: Wow, that was pathetic. They had four copies of F-zero GP, but they were $4.99 instead of $1.97. Also, Feel the Magic XX/YY was $19.99 rather than $9.99 (it has been $9.99 at Fry's for over four months now, stadard price). The only other game I considered buying was Rebelstar for $9.99, but I've already got it. Meh.

Holy crap thanks OP. How current are these prices and would these prices be company wide or are they YMMV? Just wondering because my Sears has a ton of these games in massive quantities and at these prices I wish I knew about them.

These prices are pretty recent/reliable. Enjoy your haul :)

I can't confirm but I know it was mentioned in the last thread. Can anyone confirm to add to the OP?

XBox360 - Kameo (both versions) and PDZero (both versions) 19.99

It is YMMV slightly on prices, figure the price listed will generally be up $2 - $3 either higher or lower than the listed price if it is not the price listed in the OP.

I think I might have seen them both for $19.99, but I'll have to double check next time I'm at Sears

This one is semi-YMMV as there are 3 Sears around me - one of them had these both at $19.99 about 3 months ago, one of them JUST marked them down to $19.99 (including the PDZero Limited Edition, not just the PH and regular versions) and the third still has them at $29.99. However, that last Sears rarely follows the normal clearance prices. So if yours tends to follow, then you should be good......

The Sears stores in my area haven't had much in terms of great deals. Most of the games I find are all 9.99 or 14.99. In fact, the majority of the games and such are similar in price to Kmart, which makes sense since Kmart bought Sears a few years ago.

Yeah the chances of getting the games for those prices are so small I wouldn't even pay attention to them.

And has anyone even seen a Donkey Konga with bongs in any story this year?

I got RebelStar: Tactical Command for $10 at Sears sometime in Febuary, might be worth a look.

What system is Rebelstar for?

And yes, I saw a Donkey Konga 2 w/bongos at the Sears in Myrtle Beach towards the end of January...didn't buy it as I was on vacation and didn't want to try to fit it in my luggage. It was marked at $9.99 at the time.

OP updated to this point.

Seen at Sears this weekend:

:ds: Animal Crossing Wide World $29.97

:gba: Lizzie Mcguire 3 $16.97

Ha ha!

Anyway, these prices were from a Sears Grand store, just not in our area.

Besides, it'll take months until AC:WW is at a price I'll even consider, even longer for LM3...

Ahh so the Sears stores around here haven't dropped yet?? All I want from that list is Trace Memory(DS) and FF Tactics Advance (GBA)................

Thanks for the heads up OP. I usually strike out something fierce at these clearance sales, but I have three Sears within a half hour of me, so I'm going to give them a shot. I'll be back tonight with my finds, if any.

not a big drop, but i did notice that (360) Prey and Open Season were "pink tagged" for $29.99 and $39.99 respectively. not great deals, but the fact that they are now tagged means future drops are in order. unfortunately i didn't see the month listed on the tag.

GBA Micros are also tagged (Jan, I believe) at 48.97.

Thanks OP, by any chance does anyone know how the pricedrops work at Sears, are they like Kmart's where a certain percentage discount is added every month?

So far I'm under the impression that I've noticed is that prices will drop either $1 or $10 depending on the item's price i.e. $1.97 ---> $0.97 and $29.97---> $19.97. I'm probably wrong, but that's seems like what is going on.

Still waiting for the GBM to pricedrop past $48! Thanks ahead.

It really varies by item, Geist went from $4.97 to $0.97 last month at my local Sears, while Twisted Metal PSP has been $14.97 for 4+ months

Yes this is bigtime YMVY and i hate that.....if one store has a item on sale for x amount then all the rest should....not gonna waste my time as i've never got in on a video game deal at Sears cuz the sux ass!!!

I've never had a problem...going to multiple Sears stores locally and in other states when on vacation. The prices may vary by $1-3 but 99% of the time the list of clearance games is the same at every Sears in the country. My one problem with Sears is finding an employee to open the case and actually scan games for me, as they're always locked in a case and they're never marked correctly.

At my Sears, Lord of the Rings Tactics rang up at 4.97, as did Metal Gear Acid 1. A number of other PSP games were at $9.99, but not all of the PSP games I scanned were in stock. Sadly, Lord of the Rings Tactics and Metal Gear Acid 1 weren't there

I saw one today at Sears. Still rang up at $14.99 though.

Do most Sears carry VGs? Also, would it be hard to find Goldeneye: rouge agent, LOZ:four swords adventures, and Geist? All for the GC

I got Arc The Lad End of Darkness for $6.97 a few weeks ago. I think they had lots more. I was going to return it but ended up just trading it in to Blockbuster for $9.50 - saved me the trouble a trip to the mall to go to Sears. I usually miss out on these Sears deals because it means going to malls .

Nice job with the update Rictor. I'd have done it myself, but I got way too busy with work. Sadly there just aren't enough hours sometimes.
