The old Sears clearance thread was almost a year old, so I've taken the liberty of creating this one. I went back and wrote down the drops and lowest reported prices so far for all of 2007. The games may ring up more or less for you as prices are YMMV (your mileage may vary). The games should ring up at some sort of clearance price at every Sears store that carries games. They may not be tagged on clearance at your store, so you should have them scanned to find out what they ring up as. My local Sears rarely tags the clearance games, so I have to refer to this list. Games drop out of the system about a month after they hit $0.97.

Some clearance games at Sears were restocked over the holidays with new UPC stickers over the original UPC. These are ringing up $9.99-$19.99 as marked for now.

These prices are good at Sears, Sears Essentials, and Sears Grand stores.

Lowest reported prices (games may ring up less or more at your store):

If you have a new game or lower price to list, post it here and I'll update the OP periodically. Even if a game is only a few dollars off, please report it here. The price WILL drop on a regular basis. When reporting a price, please give us the game title AND system.

Here's a link to the old thread: http://www.cheapassgamer.com/forums/showthread.php?t=103736

In my experience, the list of clearance games at Sears isn't YMMV, but the specific clearance prices are (prices drop at different speeds at different stores. Also, people keep complaining that the clearance games are ringing up $15-20 at their stores. If they would actually read this post, they'd know that's because those are restocked holiday games with new UPC tags. The old stock of those games should still ring up on clearance if you can find them.

And because people can't read, I'll say it again:

PRICES ARE ALL YMMV!
PRICES ARE ALL YMMV!
PRICES ARE ALL YMMV!
Yes it was 2005. My bad. It was just weird seeing PS1 games new.
I was about to say, finding a 17 year old sealed PS game would be more than weird. Especially since the Sears closest to me has like 3 copies of MLB 2005 left. At least i think it was 05... >_> I just remember Eric Chavez on the cover.
Does anyone think these prices are good at Kmart too? Since Kmart owns Sears.
They're not. KMart has its own clearance thread.
Tony Hawk AW PS2- 1.97

Also Stacked for X-Box is 1.97 at sears is Trading in at FYE for 10.00
Wish I had known this saw 2 earlier at Sears

Prices at Sears are not the same as the prices at Kmart. Example: I had that GPX 7" LCD Under the cabinet mounted TV scanned at Sears & it rang up $119.99 where at Kmart it's only $21.

I did find these though:
:xbox:
Brothers In Arms Road To Hill 30 $1.97
POP Warrior Within $3.97
:psp:
Metal Gear Acid $3.97
(I had to fight for this one though because it did not ring up in the system, as the stupid guy working there would not give it to me at that price even though it was stickered at that price. He went to check on it & said $7.97, I was like WTF in my head & told him NO, I want it for $3.97 as the sticker says. He still said no, so I asked for a manager & he was hesitant to get one for me. I did not give up & just kept saying get a manager. When the manager came he said give it to him for the stickered price. I love when the peon associate is showed up by management!:) )

This may be YMMV, but I saw a large number of games and accessories marked 20% off today. The stickers were marked "August."

Here're some things I remember:
:ps2: Rogue Galaxy $21.XX
:ps2: Sony DVD remote $7.XX
:ds: Elite Beat Agents $24.XX

There were games marked down for every console in stock, including 360. (No PS3 or Wii games at my Sears.) A new round of markdowns maybe or just YMMV?

Stopped by Sears today and was surprised to see a lone copy of Super Mario Strikers on top of the clearance bin rubble marked 12.97 (aug)

Stacked for XBox scanned $7.97 for me. Saw Madden 06 for the PSP, I thought it would be $0.97 - $2.97. Scanned $12.97. THAW for PS2 scanned at $19.97. Better than the $19.99 it was at another Sears (since the .97 means it will drop further).

This may be YMMV but the Sears in Brooklyn Center, MN had two PS2 Logitech Cordless Action controllers for $6.97 a piece. Quite a deal if I didn't have one already. :)
i need to see if there is a Sears close to Livermore CA, because i am doing construction work in that town for a few months / weeks ;) so i hope i can find those 2$ GBA games lol
There is one in Antioch, Dublin and one in Tracy. Whatever you do, don't go to the one in Tracy, it is one of the few Sears in existence that doesn't have any games in the electronics section.

I do recommend the Antioch and Dublin ones though from when I visited them for clearance goodies last year.

Thanks Topic creator...I found Darkstalkers for the psp for $14.99 because of this thread. I picked up the last copy. I just saw it a few days ago at Gamestop for $39.99....man I live CAG.

Boatloads of DS games were 24.97 with no date. Will try and post a list later, but most everything was.

Super Mario 64 DS - $11.97 (Aug)
Super Mario Strikers GC - $12.97 (Aug)

Dave

I nabbed 3 wavebird controllers - two of them were $19.97, and the third was $23.97. Not sure why the difference, but they wouldn't drop the price on the third one to match (the price tag said $23.97 on all three).

I scored last copy Yoshi: Touch & Go (DS) $10 and Metroid Prime (GC) $5. Also, Metal Gear Solid 3: Subsistance (PS2) is $15 ... iwonder it worth $15 or not ??

I nabbed a platinum one at my Sears about a month ago and it came up $23.97.
were they diff colors (grey & platinum) b/c i think they have diff upc's
Ahh, yup, that explains it. Heh, I didn't even notice the different colors.
Ahh, yup, that explains it. Heh, I didn't even notice the different colors.
yep i had a grey one come up at 23.something and a platinum one that wasnt in the computer anymore. instead of hooking me up with a cheap ass deal they just scanned it as a grey one again. oh well, its still nice to play twin snakes from my sofa!

It must be terribly annoying for all of you, I work at Sears and find it difficult willing to find someone willing to open the case. Picked up Elite beat agents and mario and luigi POT for 19.97 each the other day in Aurora, CO.
Man, I'd go for Meteos - $6.97 and Polarium - $1.97 for the ds if they still have it!
Unlikely, I couldn't even find Meteos last summer (thankfully, I found one at CC for $8.96 tagged full price a few weeks later) and haven't seen Polarium since January

LOL. I stopped by my Sears after reading about others finding "AUG" markdowns... No such luck but I did find ANOTHER copy of R&C Size Matters in the $19.99 bin. I asked about AGAIN and once again got shot down. I saw them put the last copy I found in the glass case so I'm guessing that they had a second one buried and it was recently unearthed.
Is suikoden V on sale yet. Whats the price on paper mario now
I don't know if Suikoden V is on clearance, but all 4 copies mysteriously disappeared from the local Sears recently.

My local Sears has a lot of decent games that they have out of the case in the clearance area... but are still $30 - $40. I even grabbed a hand full to check them at a price scanner thinking they were marked wrong.

They also have 2 or 3 original xbox's for ~$130.
I don't know if Suikoden V is on clearance, but all 4 copies mysteriously disappeared from the local Sears recently.
I can second that of a mysterious disappearance of RPG titles..

They had about 5-6 Suikoden V And also 4 copies of Tales of Abyss

But alas ** POOF ** gone ???

They still havent as of last night marked down MGS3:S still sitting at $29.99 so I do not think they will ever drop it at this store seeing I have been checking Bi-weekly for about 4 months lol....

Yeah, all 4 copies of Suikoden V had been sitting in the local Sears for the last 9 months then, in a week, they're all gone. Since they had been selling them for $39.99, I figure they must've gotten a price drop.

well, some good news I guess. Not sure if any seen my other reply in the "Kmart" thread, but I was desepratly looking for winning eleven 9 international{online} for the ps2. I even looked at all the walrmart/sears/kmart/circuit city/bestbuy stores, and none of those stores has them.
I also contacted "Konami" to see if they can answer me some questions regarding the online portion of that game, and they told me that "winning elven 9 international" has no longer has the capability to be online because all the servers are shut down. I was majorly dissappointed. They did, However, mentioned that "pro evolution soccer 2007" is almost the same game as "winning eleven 9 international" and it is infact an online game, and its servers are still up and running, so I was kind of happy about that, but again, it didnt really mean much, because I didnt had niether of these games.
So a few days later went by, and I went to sears{which is why I an replying in this thread} to look for some of the clearances games{spiderman 2 for the ps2}, and some other games, which there wasnt many of them left at all, just some crappy games like "puzzle" games for 4.99, and some other games like "streebal" for 10 dollars..
so any way, I am looking at their glass windown{the one with the lock} and i see quite a few ps2 games in there{maybe like 50 games}. I am going thru the games and what do i see??? "Pro Evolution Soccer 2007"{online}.
I asked the manager to open up the case and scan that game for me, and i ringed up at 24.99! I bought that game that right there, even though the price was kind of "high" i guess for a game that is not so popular in the "States".
but again, I didnt have no regerets because a week earlier, when I was in walmart, I was looking for winning eleven 9 international, again with no luck, and that was after i was in every single of the stores that I mentioned above, I came accross "UEFA 2007"{online} which is also a soccer game, but it is not as good as winning elven 9 international or pro evolution 2007{both are the same games more or less}, but i still bought it becase I gave up on my searches for this game{winning eleven 9/pro evolution socccer 2007}, and because this game was online.
so yeah, this is my happy endind story :)
it was good move by me that I did not open the "UEFA 2007" sealing and kept the reciept, becuase once i bought pro evolution from sears for 24.99, I went back to walmart and returned "UEFA 2007" and got my 21 dollars back.
not bad, Not bad at ALL!.

Hope you enjoyed this as much as i did. :)

Have them scan MGS, Sears isn't very good at price tags. It was $18 at one store near me, 16 at another (in chicago)

I went to the Sears in the mall near me. They killed the once glorious game section. What I did see on clearance though was Project Gotham Racing on the xbox for $1.97 (Plat Hits), the DDR Extreme bundle on the PS2 for $49.97, the DDR SuperNova bundle on the PS2 for $59.97, a DDR bundle on the 360 ending in $XX.97, and Tales of Phantasia on the GBA for $10. I also saw Super Mario Sunshine... I think it was $19.97.

hmm... I am having some problems in the sears around my area.
I live in n.y.c and I went to 3 different sears to see what gamse they have left{if any at all} and i found out that there is one sears with maybe 4 or 5 copies of metal gear solid 3: subsistne, but only problem is, the game rings out at a regular price of 19.99, instead of the clearance price which i believe is 6.78 according to this post.
any suggestions what kind I do inorder to get that game as a clearance price?

There are no stickers to peel like what you posted about in the Kmart thread - peeling off a sticker, getting your purchase denied, and then wanting to report that store.

Also, keep in mind that the OP states that the prices are YMMV, so just because the OP says, "Subsistence - $6.97," that doesn't mean your Sears will always have the same price.

Or ever have it at that price, for that matter.

Not only what the Parker said, but also when/if it does clearance it probably won't be 6.78. There have been three or more other clearance prices on it in the mid to high teens: 12.97, 14.97, and 16.97 or something like that. Be happy if you get it in that range.

Quick question to anyone and I know this may be off topic but ARC the Lad : End of Darkness er whatever hit frontrow at Best Buy and was wondering what that game was like....

I see. is there a way to make that paticular sears to drop its price for that game faster?

Kidding. It can be frustrating, but really the only thing you can do is wait and check back every once in a while. But, like someone already mentioned, sometimes the price never drops.

You can always look to the CAG trading/auction forums.

Wow, the Sears in the Dayton Mall has really been hurting for good deals the last few weeks. They even raised the prices on a couple clearance items that were on manual markdown.

Suikoden 5 was $31.97 the last time i check, this was 3 weeks ago. they had a ton of copies at the store i check, and im sure they'll still be there. I also saw Baten Kaitos Origins for the same price. maybe next week i'll check em again to see.

There are huge piles of games on clearance here, tons for the Nintendo DS (lots of xbox games as well), of notables are digimon world ds for about 25$, clubhouse games for around 25$, lots of games around the 25$ price point, theme park for 19.99 (barcode check on the scanner), many other games for 19.99.. Plus the current guy working the game department in my sears is really nice..

Just got back from the Lafayette, IN sears and they had the following, all marked w/sept tags:

Mario Strikers - $7.97
Pokemon XD - $13.97
Star Wars Rogue Squadron II - $2.97

MGS3 Subsistence - $16.97
Winning Eleven 2007 - $24.97

Mario & Luigi DS - $4.97

among others

Rogue Galaxy was $31.47. Passed on it.

Suikoden V was $24.97. Ditto on passing.

Bunch of crappy kiddie GBA games were ~$5. Passed again.

Saw Mario Strikers but was still tagged as $19.99 and I didn't want to feel like a jerk again to have the electronics clerk unlock the case, remove the game, lock it, scan it at the register and be disappointed with the $20 output. They seemed pretty current with prices so maybe in a few weeks that game will drop.

i saw a nintendo game cube mark down in washington for $49, it includes the system, metroid prime, a controller, etc... didnt pick it up though because i didnt need it.
