The old Sears clearance thread was almost a year old, so I've taken the liberty of creating this one. I went back and wrote down the drops and lowest reported prices so far for all of 2007. The games may ring up more or less for you as prices are YMMV (your mileage may vary). The games should ring up at some sort of clearance price at every Sears store that carries games. They may not be tagged on clearance at your store, so you should have them scanned to find out what they ring up as. My local Sears rarely tags the clearance games, so I have to refer to this list. Games drop out of the system about a month after they hit $0.97.

Some clearance games at Sears were restocked over the holidays with new UPC stickers over the original UPC. These are ringing up $9.99-$19.99 as marked for now.

These prices are good at Sears, Sears Essentials, and Sears Grand stores.

Lowest reported prices (games may ring up less or more at your store):

If you have a new game or lower price to list, post it here and I'll update the OP periodically. Even if a game is only a few dollars off, please report it here. The price WILL drop on a regular basis. When reporting a price, please give us the game title AND system.

Here's a link to the old thread: http://www.cheapassgamer.com/forums/showthread.php?t=103736

In my experience, the list of clearance games at Sears isn't YMMV, but the specific clearance prices are (prices drop at different speeds at different stores. Also, people keep complaining that the clearance games are ringing up $15-20 at their stores. If they would actually read this post, they'd know that's because those are restocked holiday games with new UPC tags. The old stock of those games should still ring up on clearance if you can find them.

And because people can't read, I'll say it again:

PRICES ARE ALL YMMV!
PRICES ARE ALL YMMV!
PRICES ARE ALL YMMV!

Picked up a couple of other games recently:

Blinx 2 - $3.97
Outrun 2 (XB) - $4.97

Paper Mario (GC) scanned for $12.97 so I passed.
There are huge piles of games on clearance here, tons for the Nintendo DS (lots of xbox games as well), of notables are digimon world ds for about 25$, clubhouse games for around 25$, lots of games around the 25$ price point, theme park for 19.99 (barcode check on the scanner), many other games for 19.99.. Plus the current guy working the game department in my sears is really nice..
theme park dropped to 19.99 so not a deal sad to say

went today to sears in coral springs fl today and they had a bunch of clearance games for all systems. most notably, sealed copies of metal gear 3 subsistence for 18bucks and mgs portable ops for 19. picked up ape escape 3 for 4 bucks
Also had Rumble Roses XX for $5.97 but I was too embarassed to get it.
LMAO! Can't say I've felt that way before. I mean, I got my copy of the original RR at Sears. AND i didn't get carded. Which sucks. If you have a license but not a car, it's just a space waster in your wallet. :(

I got RR XX for $7.99. :D

Funny thing is they didn't card me either.

I got both RR on clearance from Sears; bought 'em both with no shame. Who cares what the clerk thinks?

Got Fuzion Frenzy best of PH for $1.97.

Been eyeing up that game for a while, but its always been way expensive. Loved the demo when I first got my xbox, glad to finaly have the game

Just picked up Prince of Persia: The Two Thrones (Xbox) for $7.97. Never really paid too much attention to the clearance game section there before but I think I will for now on....since I work at Sears and I've usually got tons of time to kill.
Just got back from the Lafayette, IN sears and they had the following, all marked w/sept tags:

Mario Strikers - $7.97
Pokemon XD - $13.97
Star Wars Rogue Squadron II - $2.97

MGS3 Subsistence - $16.97
Winning Eleven 2007 - $24.97

Mario & Luigi DS - $4.97

among others

did your mgs come sealed with one of those ps2 seals on the top???? i got one but it didnt have it. i want to know if i got a reseal or what
PS2 games no longer have seals on them. It has been this way since about the time MGS3 Subsistence came out.

Ain't much of a deal, but I grabbed:
Star Trek: Legacy (360) for $31.XX at my local Sears. Still retails for ~$39.99 I believe..

I decided to have the Metroid bundle scanned to see if it was $49.97 or hopefully less. Scanned at $99.99 so I guess it isn't on clearance at all stores.
PS2 games no longer have seals on them. It has been this way since about the time MGS3 Subsistence came out.
ooooooooooooooooooo thanks for the heads up

Suikoden V $6.97
Mario & Luigi: Partners in Time $10.97
Prince of Persia Two Thrones (XB) $7.97
Drakengard 2 $5.97
Ape Escape 3 $3.97
MotoGP 4 $12.97
Moto GP 06 $7.97 (opened case, realized when I got to my car I had just bought Madden 07--and it didn't work!)
Tales of Phantasia $9.97
Metal Gear Acid 2 $4.97
Dead or Alive 4 $19.97

I think that was everything I checked out today.

I found the following at my local Sears:
Eye Toy: $4.97
Rampage Total Destruction (cube): $4.97
Goldeneye Rogue Agent (cube) $0.97
Future Tactics (ps2): $4.99

they had some poker games and racing games for xbox too at $4.97 each, but I don't have a system. I left a couple Future Tactics and Rampage games though if anyone wants me to go back and grab them.

Bad deal, find a Kmart it is 20.00 or with current clearance special 14.00

I NEED A SEARS PRODUCT ID NUMBER FOR TIGER WOODS PGA 06 FOR 360!!. It wouldn't ring up so I was offered $39.99 price tag. If somebody still has their receipt from buying this months ago please post the number so I can get it for cheap too, thanks in advance!

Elite Beat Agents $23.97
Star Fox Command $21.97
Super Princess Peach $34.99

Madden 06 (360) $1.97
Rumble Roses XX $7.97
Gun $13.97 (or a few bucks more can't remeber--not worth it yet)
LOTR Battle for Middle Earth II $29.99
Bad deal, find a Kmart it is 20.00 or with current clearance special 14.00
Bah.. Oh well, got my ~$30 worth out of it anyway

Picked up Halo 2. It was marked $10.97 but it rang up $2.97. I did a happy little dance on my way out of the store.

I actually saw Halo Triple Pack at my store for $29.99 a few weeks back. I wish I'd gotten in on it then, but at the time I didn't have an Xbox to play it on.

Somemore September drops, as indicated by SEP on pink tags:

:360:
Moto GP 06 $7
Tiger Woods 06 $7
DOA4 $17 (in non-PH box)

:ds:
Mario 64 $7:hot:

:xbox:
Midway Arcade Treasures 1 $4
Star Wars Obi Wan $9

:psp:
Metal Gear Acid $5

Also saw a bunch of universal price drops marked with pink tags like

:wii: Happy Feet $20
:ds: Castlevania POR $20
My Sears has an Eyetoy with some fitness game for $13.XX in really beat up packaging... worth it?
That would be Eye Toy: Kinetic. And you'll have to define "worth it." Do you actually want to play Kinetic? Cause if so $13 is a good price. If you just want to resell it, do the homework yourself champ.

I purchased Star Wars Rogue Leader II Rogue Squadron $2.97 and one 1 month XBox Live Gold subscription card $0.97 I wish they had more.
Donkey Konga 2 with Bongos 4.97. Seal is broken, but a quick look seemed to show it was all there. Worth it?
I still haven't tried mine yet... I got it game only (already had 2 sets of bongos that I never used) for $2.97 at SEARS nearly a year ago but haven't given it a chance.

Does ANYONE even buy games at SEARS? I've never, ever, actually seen ONE person purchase a game every time I've been to SEARS.

Yeah when I was in there over the weekend this guy was asking me if PS3 had GameShark, then he asked an employee where the PS3 games were (right in front of his face), where the cheat books were, and if they had the new Fifa for PS3.

If you go in there on the weekends usually there is people aimlessly looking around but not much buying going on. I think they sell games just like Wal-Mart and other places do--to moms who are picking up games for the kids birthday. Its a convince thing of being able to get games & clothes in the same spot.
No September stickers or prices in West Covina. Not much of a selection either.
My store didn't have updated tags either, you just gotta check prices on stuff you have heard about being on clearance.

I went to a different store Metal Gear Acid 2 and Ape Escape 3 rang up $9.97 I was disappointed. Does Sears have drops every month? Around when should I check my local stores for drops?

It seems to be monthly, but I really don't know when exactly they drop. I saw Ape Escape (marked correctly) for $3.97. Also got MGA2 for $4.97. Weird pricing difference...I don't think anybody, not even Sears execs, understand how exactly the game clearance works.

Bah, no Super Mario 64 at the nearest Sears. Mine never has any of these YMMV clearances.

Went to Sears at Lakeforest Mall, Gaithersburg, MD.

Total bust, NOTHING there at all don't waste your time. Even stuff in the clearance bin was full price!

Well hit up a sears store yesterday and due to my surprise they finally made a price change on MGS3:S and it was down to $14.97 so I bit on that. A new one to add to the list that is probably YMMV but worth a mention is I got Drakengard 2 for $5.97 even though it was still tagged $19.99..

So from what I have seen in stores is that if your store has those scanners you can check yourself grab random titles and check them because there has to be more deals out there that are YMMV like the Drakengard 2 I found because it is not on the main list...
Donkey Konga 2 with Bongos 4.97. Seal is broken, but a quick look seemed to show it was all there. Worth it?
Well, most people seem to say that Donkey Konga 1 is much better as far as the music is concerned (in fact, people seem to say that the music in DK2 sucks), while DK2 has better mini games. I have Donkey Konga 1, 2 (and 3, but that's Japanese), but I haven't opened DK2 yet. DK1 is fantastic and if you ever see that you should pick it up, definitely. So... not sure if that's any help. I think for the price it's got to be worth it. Even if the most of the music sucks, surely there has to be some good songs on it, and the mechanics of the game are still great. It will give you a taste of the gameplay at the very least. Then try to find a copy of DK1.

went back to the local best buy near me as I realized I never checked for Metal Gear Ac!d 2 - sure enough, $3.97 each. I grabbed three of the four copies there.

not calling you a hoarder, but what are you gonna do with all those?? do they actuallly have some trade value? or are you one of those people that actually plays games lol

Picked up World Soccer Winning Eleven 9 for PSP tonight for $4.98 plus tax. Also got an official PSP car charger for $3.99 plus tax, and the official PSP accessory pouch and cloth for $1.99 plus tax.

I passed on Wipeout Pure for around $8...don't want it that badly, I guess.

They also had the official PSP battery charger for about $5 or less, and the official A/C adapter for about $5 or less as well.

Gotta love those "Take 50% off the lowest marked clearance price!" bins. :)

Thanks to everyone for the input on this. I would have picked it up and returned it if I changed my mind, but since it was opened already. . . and I didn't have time to thoroughly check it out. Hopefully, it'll still be there tomorrow. Also, I saw:

:gc: Godzilla DAMM (Destroy All Monsters Melee) for 3.97 or 4.97. Thought it was crap but after looking it up it seems worth it.
:360: Tiger Woods 06 5.97
:psp: Official Sony extended life battery for the PSP for 7.97.

Picked up 3 1 month Live cards @ .97 each.
Will go back for DK2 and DAMM and hope for Mario 64 which I forgot about.

dk2 w/ bongos is probably worth 5 bucks. maybe not the game itself, but for a pair of 'new?' bongos and a game id go for it. i just saw these restocked at CC for 20 bones

Yeah, I picked up drakengard 2 for $5.97 at sears today.
They also had numerous copies of ape escape 3 for $5.97. Should've got the ape escape's. They're worth 300 points on goozex, at least.

I think im going to go back to the store today to do some random game scanning and see if anything new comes up.. It is funny because the games that are on a rack in my store with a sign "all games $9.99-19.99" all ring up the prices they have listed but the games on the regular racks are all over the place... Works for me..

I Will update here if I find anything noteworthy that's not on the main list..
