The old Sears clearance thread was almost a year old, so I've taken the liberty of creating this one. I went back and wrote down the drops and lowest reported prices so far for all of 2007. The games may ring up more or less for you as prices are YMMV (your mileage may vary). The games should ring up at some sort of clearance price at every Sears store that carries games. They may not be tagged on clearance at your store, so you should have them scanned to find out what they ring up as. My local Sears rarely tags the clearance games, so I have to refer to this list. Games drop out of the system about a month after they hit $0.97.

Some clearance games at Sears were restocked over the holidays with new UPC stickers over the original UPC. These are ringing up $9.99-$19.99 as marked for now.

These prices are good at Sears, Sears Essentials, and Sears Grand stores.

Lowest reported prices (games may ring up less or more at your store):

If you have a new game or lower price to list, post it here and I'll update the OP periodically. Even if a game is only a few dollars off, please report it here. The price WILL drop on a regular basis. When reporting a price, please give us the game title AND system.

Here's a link to the old thread: http://www.cheapassgamer.com/forums/showthread.php?t=103736

In my experience, the list of clearance games at Sears isn't YMMV, but the specific clearance prices are (prices drop at different speeds at different stores. Also, people keep complaining that the clearance games are ringing up $15-20 at their stores. If they would actually read this post, they'd know that's because those are restocked holiday games with new UPC tags. The old stock of those games should still ring up on clearance if you can find them.

And because people can't read, I'll say it again:

PRICES ARE ALL YMMV!
PRICES ARE ALL YMMV!
PRICES ARE ALL YMMV!

I found a gameboy player yesterday marked down to 8.97.
with the pink sticker. I assume it's new cause last month they were still $50.

anyone seen darkstalkers for the psp ring up lower than $14.99?

Not at Sears, no, but if you really want one, PM me and I'll let you have one of the ones I got at K-Mart when they were down to $3.
LOL seriously. Should've bought it when they were incredibly easy to sell for $150 & up.
Amazing that the player sold for 150, and now you can get a gamecube for under 30...lol

Picked up 4 month xbl cards, Id be willing to let the codes go for 2.50 paypal to anyone who may want one... if not Ill keep em

Sears in general has become one of my favorite place to shop. n addition to the ton of games Ive picked up over the past 2 years, Ive bought a TON of really nice levie's jeans in different styles for 5 bucks apiece (I have a large stack of nice jeans which cost me less than the cost of one new pair at regular price). Lots of good deals to be had there, especially when they have the take 50% off clearance items sales...

Well went back today and snagged a copy of Ape Escape 3 for $3.97

As a heads up Rogue Galaxy is on it's way down because the store I went to had a clearance sticker for $31.97 on it and that was July's markdown on it...
Found a OG Xbox Live 12 month subscription card marked with a 'SEP' clearance tag for $10.97!!

It's the one that looks like this:

http://image.compusa.com/prodimages/36/68536d91-c257-43c1-9333-9521fbbea62a.gif

Good luck finding these...
I saw a few but they rang up $23.97 :( with the release of Halo 3 right around the corner it would be nice to score years of XBox Live on the cheap. I also saw two Hot Shots Golf Open Tee PSP they rang up $19.99 makes me wish all Sears stores had the same prices for everything. Does Sears price match their own prices? I bought HSG OT at another Sears for $1.97 not too long ago I still have the receipt.

I also saw those 12 month cards, but they rang up at $25.97 at my Sears.

I acutally found a few clearnece items at my local Sears. Before this, I had never been able to find a large sum of games. They were all in a shopping cart marked "Clearence Items", I wonder if they just had it building up in the back until it was full and they brought it out. There was a lot more than just games, a bunch of cell headsets, chargers, and other electonic items. They were all untagged so I had to ask for a price check on each one.

Official Xbox Controller Blue - 4.97 (Should point out, Im keeping this :D)
Metal Gear Acid 2 - 4.97
Ghost in the Shell UMD Movie - 2.97
Dead or Alive 4 (Non-ph) - 17.97 (Already have it, thinking someone might want a new non-ph version?)

Also saw but did not pick up at this price:

MLB The Show 06 PSP - 14.97
FFIV Advance GBA - 21.97
I also saw those 12 month cards, but they rang up at $25.97 at my Sears.

Hmm, I saw this for $15 at 2 different Sears in the past week.

Aw crap. It looks like Sears Clearances are becoming YMMV. Between the different prices on the 12 month card, MGA2 and DOA4, it doesn't look good.

becoming... Haven't they always been ymWv? My local sears has many games that have been posted, but the prices are always retail, even though they are in the clearance section. It's like they lowered the price when it was a universal price drop and think they are doing their shoppers a favor.

got mgs 3 subsistence today for $21.97. the price suck. i dont remember the last time i paid that much for a single game at sears. also saw elite beat agents for $23.97, baten kaitos origins $31.97, & a very old xbox live kit for $26.97 (almost bought it). oh well.

Yea, it had the generic bar code over it. I dunno if I can do it at another sears since it wasn't in their system and he had to enter it manually as with the 1 month live card and Iriver T30. On the receipt there are no descriptions on the items except for the SF AC game

I think lots of those $14.99 "frontline" type games are now $11.99. The Sears I was at today had $11.99 stickers on top of just about all of their $14.99 ones. Too bad almost all of them suck.

Is the winning eleven 9 PSP $4.98 a universal drop, I really want that game to play winning eleven 9 on the go, can anyone else confirm this price, thanks

Not universal, no. I think it's universally $7.97, at least that's what it was when I checked one at a different Sears tonight, one that didn't have a 50% off clearance items bin.

That's still pretty cheap.

Got an XBL 12 month kit yesterday. Rang up $6.97. I was prepared to pay the $22.97 that was marked. I was happy. Snagged a Famicom GBM for $32.97. Yay.

Well, I also found one, brand new sealed at FYE for $30 recently so you might want to check there.

I can't beieve the value of sealed Mario DDRs have GONE UP since a year ago!

I will probably keep those two until Christmas and see if I can auction them on eBay for over $200 each. I love getting 10x what I pay for things when I auction rare items.

I'll take my $130 each (after fee's) to ship those sealed GB Players to amazon shoppers any time starting now :)

Something to keep in mind before you buy the clearanced XBL sub cards!!

It appears the .99 cent 1 month & 12 month gold package (I paid $23.97 I think) have expiration dates of 6/30/07. I tried them both with no success. Now I have to return this crap...

Agreed, they'll make it work. I've done it a few times before.

That's odd. I bought 3 of the one month live cards with an expiration date of 6/30/07 and all three worked with no problem.

I've never done it with 1 month cards, but I've used several expired year cards and it's worked fine.

Stopped by local Sears in Holyoke, MA they had a few deals:

MGS3:Subsistence for $14.97
Ape Escape 3 $3.97
Mario Power Tennis (GBA) $15.97
Stacked $3.97
Gunpey DS $9.99
Rogue Galaxy $31.97 (Not sure if this is a good deal since I was at KMart in Holyoke, MA and it was $20)

They have a bunch of other games for all systems. Can't remember them all some were reduced, some were not.

DDR is popular, limited production and high demand = high prices.

It's like Disney Mix on PS1, the difference with that is it was released before DDR went mainstream in the US so it's target audience wasn't interested in it in 2001 but today, it's worth $75+
I found Counterstrike (xbox) for $1.97... can't be that!
Thanks for posting this. I nabbed the last one of these today at one of my local sears (Southpark). Also picked up Midway Arcade Classics for $4.97.

Are these in a separate bin, or mixed in among the standard software? I might run out there later today...

GB players as well as DDR mario have high prices everywhere. I got my GB player, however, and I don't really want DDR Mario. So I think I'm good for rare GC stuff.
they have eyetoy groove for 6.97 which includes an eyetoy. Worth it? (to play, not flip)
EyeToy Groove is fantastically fun - especially for the 7 dollar price point. Just make sure you have friends around to laugh at you while you flail around during the freestyles.
counter strike for xbox is $2

I found Counterstrike (xbox) for $1.97... can't be that!

Thanks for posting this. I nabbed the last one of these today at one of my local sears (Southpark). Also picked up Midway Arcade Classics for $4.97.
definately worth it

I noticed that a few Sears now have an additional 10% off of clearance bin items. The sign over the bin said "see associate for details" so I don't know if it's an automatic 10%-off or what games are included. No self-scanners at the Sears I went to. Saw:

MGS Portable Ops - 19.97
Castlevania PoR - 19.97
FFIV - 19.97
Elite Beat Agents - 23.97
Woody Xbox 360 faceplate - 4.97
Viva Pinata Xbox 360 faceplate - 9.97

Took my old receipt and got a price adjust for MGS Subsistence - $13.97.
