Sears Clearance Thread Summer 06

Status
Not open for further replies.
Update:
Almost all of the games in Novi, MI have been marked up to 9.99 or 14.99 with a generic red sticker. There are a few random clearances left though...
This is true of most Sears stores. If they happen to have anything left it's likely to be $10 or less by now. Everything else is out of the system and will likely ring up as: Video Game, and is stickered $10 or $15, just like the games at Kmart that went out of the system.

Since the previous "weird Sears clearance thread" is a bit outdated and a bit difficult to read, I decided to go ahead and make a new clearance thread to follow in the same format as the infamous Target clearance threads.

From the previous thread: http://cheapassgamer.com/forums/showthread.php?t=76977
Here's a compiled list of everybody's finds so far in the thread. The price following the game title are the different reported prices.

All prices and availability is YMMV, and a lot of it seems to depend on the cashier. A lot of these games aren't in the system, and in many cases they won't sell them to you. Two options here:

A)If a game isn't in the computer when scanned, the cashier can try typing in the Stock number that is on the sticker for the game on the shelf.

B)Some people have had success bringing up another known priced game and getting both for that price.

* Also to note prices are rounded UP!!
* I just want to say how much dick the posters on fat wallet enjoy sucking, for we all know this will undoubtedly get reposted over there word-for-word, with no credit to the CAG community

** All games listed below are games that I have seen, or have seen posted recently in the previous thread, I will continue to update the list as required.

*** Please attempt to post all additions as follows:

Game - System - Price
ex: Conker - Xbox - $5

**** Prices are obviously YMMV, I have listed the lowest known price, however prices may be double or half the listed price, depending on your luck.

***** My current theory is that the games marked with a "Jun" clearance sticker are actually now 1/2 price at most stores, "Jul" clearance games may drop again in September, while the "Aug" clearance games are naturally up to date.

******Prices seem to be dropping again as we near September, the actual price in some cases my now be 40% less than the listed price.
Just checked at my Sears about 5 days ago and it rang up 59.99:rofl:

I just laaaaaughed....what more could I say.
I imagine they'll go on clearance eventually, since nobody's going to buy them at that price.
anyone know the price(s) of the following from Sears?

Mario Party 7
Odama
Halo Triple Pack
I believe all of those are full price. I am certain that the Triple Pack is, and I've seen Odama in-store at regular price as well.
The Metroid Prime Gamecube bundles were half off at Sears, were they not?

When I stopped in yesterday they had one left sitting in the case.
I checked it about a month ago, rang up $99 for me.
I imagine they'll go on clearance eventually, since nobody's going to buy them at that price.
I imagine that they might once the Wii goes on sale and all Gamecube items are cleared out. I don't think there's been any mention of a "GBA player" for the Wii yet, and I highly doubt that you'll be able to connect the existing version to the Wii.

ok, thanks.

Snagged a Virtua Tennis(PSP) tonight at the Baybrook Mall Sears in Friendswood, TX for $9.97. They still had a few copies left. They also had some copies of MLB(PSP) for $9.97 and Twisted metal(PSP) for $14.97, as well as a bunch of DOA Ultimate(Xbox) for $14.97. They had a pretty big clearance bin, but those were the only games I checked that came up clearance......

GBA players are ~$150 new on Amazon, so $60 new is a deal I guess....

Well, Amazon is full of people who put stuff up at ridiculous prices hoping that someone will buy it. eBay is probably a better indicator of its value. They seem to be fetching $40-$50 on average.

Wow, for once, ebay isnt the most price-gouging site for a certain item. Go figure.

Anyone know a price on Sprung??? It seems like that game should be clearanced by now. My sears has a couple, but they are in the case.

Holy crap!!! I just saw a GBA palyer for $10 and thought nothing of it. I really need money for the wii so I might buy it and ebay it (I never usually do this but these are desperate times).

Grabbed EyeToy Kinetic w/camera for $15 and EyeToy Operation Spy for $10 at Sears today.

After reading some Operation Spy reviews, it's going back tomorrow...

Sprung is $4.97 but it reviewed horribly and I don't think it has that great of trade in value so ...

I returned my eyetoy spy too because of the review...

Hoping that someone will buy it? Damn, it's almost guaranteed someone will. I do sell some stuff on Amazon, and nearly everything I've ever listed has sold. Including a $230 DDR Mario Mix when it was out of print for that short time. Heh, still can't believe that one.

Saw it where? Not Sears, I presume.

I had them check the one that I found and it was still $60. Its really YMMV.
does anyone know if the southland mall sears in hayward ,california still has copies of the $3 ridgeracer?
Yes, I was just in Hayward, CA (Southland Mall) and they had 4 Ridge Racer DS in the case. In fact, here's some other stuff they had when I left:

DS:
Metroid Prime Pinball x2
Trace Memory x1
Pac Pix x5
Feel the magic x3 (basket by the register)
Pac N Roll x4 (basket by the register)
Ridge Racer DS x4

GameCube:
Battalion Wars x4
Custom Robo x3
Zelda 4 Swords x4
F-Zero GX x4
Pikmin 2 x1 (plus 2 in basket by the register)
Donkey Konga 2 w/o Bongos x1
Final Fantasy: Crystal Chronicles x2
Geist x2

Didn't see much else on PS2 (picked up the last Astro Boy) or XBox. Unfortunately, I grabbed the last WarioWare Twisted (GBA) along with a MP Pinball. I wish I could have found a copy of Mario Power Tennis (GC) or Mario Party 5 or 6, though.

hey Kiyoshi,

are the prices for those DS and GC reflect the old prices or the new prices? i hope they updated the prices.

My store didn't have much, picked up Feel The Magic for $10. They had Castlevanie Curse of Darkness for 10 and Ghost hunter for 12, don't know if that was clearance or not.

i picked up a few games at hayward sears last friday. they had TONS of ridgeracer psp still priced at $3. got the last virtua tennis $10 and SSX on tour for $7. three games for $20!
can't wait till the november TRU clearance!!

Any way you could pick up one of those PSP Ridge Racers for me? We can work something out to make it worth you while, PM me.

Unfortunately, I didn't have time to check all the prices when I was there; I just passed through on the way to somewhere else. I know that MP Pinball was around $10 still and Warioware Twisted was $7.89 as someone else posted. Pikmin 2 was $8, Pac n Roll was $10.

My "normal" Sears is in Concord, CA (which never has much) but if I go through Hayward again I'll try to check.

thanks kiyoshi!
i might actually head up there in Hayward sometime. i think the last time i was at Hayward was more than a month ago. i've only been to Newpark branch, which is closer and that was it.
If anyone can snag a Game Boy Player that's clearanced out, I am quite interested...
They're not cleranced out, they're $59.99
Another price drop? (looks like a $1 less on Trace Memory and $4 less on Pokemon Dash)
I have the receipt if anyone wants to see it , this is the first time I've ever gone to Sears for games

Can you even price match with printed receipts?

There were five copies of F-Zero GX on the shelf, but they all rang up as being out of the system. After talking to a manager, the best he would do was sell them 50% of retail, or $9.99. Telling him that two weeks ago they were $3.96 didn't sway him at all.

I found both "Fire Emblem: Path of Radiance" and "Chibi Robo" for $14.99 at Sears ESSENTIALS. They were the shelf prices and not the pink clearance stickers.

All Sears Essentials stores have all Sears prices, BUT not all Sears have all Sears Essentials prices, so it's not confirmed for regular Sears stores yet, only Essentials until someone else finds out for sure.

I saw Chibi Robo and Fire Emblem for $14.99 at my regular Sears today. So they should be that price at all Sears.

Got a nice surprise today at a Sears in Springfield, MO.

They had unmarked copies of Mario Tennis (GC) and Fire Emblem (GBA) in their glass cases. I asked the clerk to scan them for me, they rang up $9.97 and $4.97 respectively. Needless to say, I picked them both up.

There were still several copies of Mario Tennis left at this store (I'd say 3+), as well as, a copy of FFXI w/hard drive for $29.97. I'd offer to pick these up to help some other CAGs out, but unfortunately I must leave town for work before Sears opens.

Definitely worth checking out though if you're in the area or know someone in the area. There were some other decent titles left too for all 3 systems.

Hello, i have a question and i am not sure if this has been brought up yet but i can assure you i am not lying about this.

On the price scanners at sears (normal sears store) it says something about "if an item is priced less than 5$, sears will give it you for free", you can look on the price scanner at sears stores and it will say this as the first line of text before you scan an item.

My question is does anyone know what this policy is for and if there are any exclusions, i have bought items that were under 5$ in sears and i have not gotten them for free, i suspect they wouldnt just voulentarily give it you and you would have to bring up the message on the scanners for them to do that or else they would be giving away a lot of free stuff.

I Found These Games At Sears In Albany,ny(colonie Center)& At Rotterdam Mall(schenectady/rotterdam,ny).this Is My First Post So Take It Easy On Me.gamecube- Final Fantasy Crystal Chronicles$5,goldeneye Rogue Agent$5,harry Potter:ss$5,tony Hawks Underground 2$5,pikmin 2$7.97 .game Boy Advance--metroid Nes Classic $1.97,castlevania Nes Classic $1.97.
long wrong rant
That ONLY applies when the register DOESN'T match the self scanner price. For example, you scan :gba: Fire Emblem 2 at a self-scanner it would come up at $4.97. If you went to purchase it and the register rang it up at $9.97, you'd get FE2 for free.

Next time maybe read the sign a little closer. I know that Sears is owned by KMart, but even they aren't that stupid.

Well, I finally went ahead and picked up Jade Empire (7.97) and Ninja Gaiden (9.97) yesterday. I've had zero luck finding Ninja Gaiden Black anywhere, but after reading up on the differences, I'll probably just take Ninja Gaiden back and snag NGB whenever I find a good price for it.
There were still several copies of Mario Tennis left at this store (I'd say 3+)... I'd offer to pick these up to help some other CAGs out, but unfortunately I must leave town for work before Sears opens.
Nooooooooo! I've been looking for this one.

Picked up Chi...robo and checked GBA Player still 59.99 at my store. Sucks would love one of these cheap. Has anyone checked the price on Metal Gear 3 Sub?
Would love this one cheap also!
