Sega of America justs posted on their blog that they will be having a 40% off sale on pretty much every PSN and PSP game/add-on they have on PSN that should start with tomorrow's update and end on January 7 with the next update.

I've taken the liberty of adding the expected prices for each of the games/add-ons based on the prices I have listed in the PS Store update thread:
Here’s a complete list of titles that will be getting the discount — this is virtually everything released on PlayStation Network and available for PSP Go!

PSP:
Alien Syndrme - $9.99
Crazy Taxi: Fare Wars - $9.99
Crush - $9.99
Football Manager Handheld 2010 - $23.99
Full Auto 2: Battlelines - $9.99
Iron Man - $11.99
Sega Genesis Collection - $9.99
Sonic Rivals - $9.99
Sonic Rivals 2 - $17.99
Super Monkey Ball Adventure - $9.99
Sega Rally Revo - $9.99

PS3:
Sonic Unleashed - Chun-nan Adventure Pack - $1.99
Sonic Unleashed - Spagonia Adventure Pack - $1.99
Sonic Unleashed - Holoska Adventure Pack - $1.99
Sonic Unleashed - Mazuri Adventure Pack - $1.99
Sonic Unleashed - Apatos & Shamar Adventure Pack - $1.99
Sonic Unleashed - Empire City & Adabat Adventure Pack - $1.99
Sonic the Hedgehog - Very Hard Sonic Missions - $1.49
Sonic the Hedgehog - Very Hard Shadow Missions - $1.49
Sonic the Hedgehog - Very Hard Silver Missions - $1.49
Valkyria Chronicles - Hard EX Mode - $2.99
Valkyria Chronicles - Edy's Mission - $2.99
Valkyria Chronicles - Selvaria's Mission - $2.99
Gunstar Heroes - $2.99
It brings most of their PSP games below $10 and their PS3 add-ons down below $3, so it's as good a time to get something from Sega as you'll see for now.

There are some possible issues that I noticed, which is that they say it starts on Christmas Eve when there's no update and they list a Football Manager game that I don't think has been released in the US or on PSN, at least.

Edit: They're also having a sale on Virtual Console games on the Wii, which is a new concept for me:

http://blogs.sega.com/usa/2009/12/22/sega-mega-sale-40-off-selected-virtual-console-games/

That means instead of paying the usual 800 Wii Points, you’ll be able to take home some of our most cherished Sega Genesis games for the low low price of 500 Wii Points. Start saving on December 24th, but don’t wait too long – this awesome deal ends January 6th 2010.

Take your pick from Sega’s holiday sample platter – double dipping is highly encouraged:
• Sonic The Hedgehog
• Sonic The Hedgehog 2
• Sonic The Hedgehog 3
• Gunstar Heroes
• Toe Jam & Earl
• Puyo Puyo 2
• Shining Force
• Golden Axe
• Altered Beast
• Streets Of Rage 2
Thanks to Slermy for posting this.

VC, man, still no trophy support, if you're releasing DLCs for a game, why so lazy with trophy supports? And, the game itself got medal system already, so what's the problem? I still haven't touch my copy of VC... I would love to get me the VC DLCs but alas, no trophies...
Those "PSP Go" games should just be titled "PSP" games because they work on ALL PSPs
please don't start anything. I wish PSP and PSP Go owners could just unite and get along. We didn't do anything wrong by buying a Go other than supporting Sony. I bought a PSP-1000 two days after it came out and was priced high. Should I be ridiculed for that now, from 5 years ago??

Always nice to see a fellow trophy whore. I still want trophies for MGS4 too.

Anyhoo, I already got the VC DLC. (I thought the Edy mission was short, but pretty funny if you're into crazy anime situations), so all that's left is for me to get Gunstar Heroes.

I think he meant that PSP Go games makes it sound like it only works on the Go. The title makes it a little misleading.

Just saw this, in for the VC DLC and Gunstar Heroes. Thanks op.

Edit: If anyone is wondering, Crush for the PSP is a fantastic puzzle game, definitely a recommend at this price.

Trophy support would be nice for VC, but that game is incredible and definitely shouldn't be skipped just because of that. I'm in for the DLC for it at this price, been hoping for a sale on it. Now if Sony would just put the HSG:OOB DLC on sale...
I've been looking for a deal on Crush for AGES, I might have to pick up that one as my first downloadable PSP game...
I bought this when it came out for full price and I loved it then (its a wonderful game, you should buy it).

I'll pick up Gunstar Heroes, but nothing else. Thank goodness this sale isn't that great. I was afraid I was going to be tempted to spend a bunch of money.
In for VC DLC, Sonic Unleashed DLC doesn't sound engaging, anyone try that DLC?
Yes, on Xbox 360. The DLC is actually pretty good, and it's not just unlock keys, it's an actual download of new levels (using art assets from previous levels). I've only played the daytime stages of the DLC and I have to say that they are EXTREMELY HARD. This is coming from someone who has 1000/1000 GamerScore for BOTH Sonic 2006 (yes I'm pathetic, I know) and in Sonic Unleashed. Note I haven't played all the daytime stages yet, but from the 4 or 5 that I have, expect to die. A LOT.

If you thought the daytime stages on the disc-based levels were too easy, this will be perfect. Absolutely worth the price, and if you hate the nighttime stages, you don't have to play them at all to access the new daytime stages (unlike the story mode for the main adventure).

Also the difficulty doesn't matter so much if you don't care about rank. Since you can't get an S rank if you die, and I'm an S-rank-whore (all S-ranks for every disc-based daytime and nighttime stage), I keep restarting the level over and over trying to S-rank 'em, which is frustrating, but this frustration won't be present if you don't care about rank.

For $10 I'm tempted to but the SGC...for 3rd time.
The hard mode DLC won't affect a game in progress right? It's just for new playthroughs right?
I seem to recall that you only use the EX Hard mode for Skirmish battles. So I doubt that it will affect a save file.

iirc, the game(and DLC) was released before you had to put trophies in the game. And to top it off the game didn't sell that well(At least until it was sale for some crazy price). So to expect them to waste time adding trophies would be retarded.
Gunstar Heroes has trophies I think
I can confirm that it does. I bought it on release day. It is a great deal, particularly because the original is tough to find for a decent price.
Since it's cheap, would you guys all recommend going for all of the VC dlcs? I don't even have the game yet.
Buy all of it. At $3 apiece, ~$10 for all three, it's pretty hard to argue. Also, you'll be supporting an amazing, underrated game :).

This is probably a dumb question, but is the Sega Genesis Collection download for PSP only, or also compatible with PS3? I always get confused with PSN games available for both PSP and PS3.

Genesis Collection is PSP only.

Yeah, I wonder on gamesharing for the VC DLCs.

For those on the fence on buying the Edy Detachment mission:

Yes, it's just one mission but it is the funniest content you will ever see/hear/play for Valkyria Chronicles. Plus, it has four separate endings based on how well you rank. It is well worth the full price.
Just wondering if the prices are up yet. I've been checking for the gunstar heroes price and it's been $4.99 all day.
Same here
The prices are up for me.

I grabbed the two mission packs for VC.
Ok thanks, Ill check the PSN store after I finish an online match :)

Anyone know how big Burnout Ultimate Bundle is? I'm tempted on the 21 bucks but dont want it crowding my HD....and Im not upgrading anytime soon

Updated the OP with the correct pricing since Sega rounded up anything that wasn't at X.49 or X.99, so not everything is technically at 40% off.
Can anybody in the USA see Football Manager for the PSP in the PlayStation store? According to the press release via IGN - http://psp.ign.com/articles/104/1041627p1.html ,the game should be available in the North American PSN stores as well but for some reason I cannot see it...
It's definitely there, I can see it.
