Sega of America justs posted on their blog that they will be having a 40% off sale on pretty much every PSN and PSP game/add-on they have on PSN that should start with tomorrow's update and end on January 7 with the next update.

I've taken the liberty of adding the expected prices for each of the games/add-ons based on the prices I have listed in the PS Store update thread:
Here’s a complete list of titles that will be getting the discount — this is virtually everything released on PlayStation Network and available for PSP Go!

PSP:
Alien Syndrme - $9.99
Crazy Taxi: Fare Wars - $9.99
Crush - $9.99
Football Manager Handheld 2010 - $23.99
Full Auto 2: Battlelines - $9.99
Iron Man - $11.99
Sega Genesis Collection - $9.99
Sonic Rivals - $9.99
Sonic Rivals 2 - $17.99
Super Monkey Ball Adventure - $9.99
Sega Rally Revo - $9.99

PS3:
Sonic Unleashed - Chun-nan Adventure Pack - $1.99
Sonic Unleashed - Spagonia Adventure Pack - $1.99
Sonic Unleashed - Holoska Adventure Pack - $1.99
Sonic Unleashed - Mazuri Adventure Pack - $1.99
Sonic Unleashed - Apatos & Shamar Adventure Pack - $1.99
Sonic Unleashed - Empire City & Adabat Adventure Pack - $1.99
Sonic the Hedgehog - Very Hard Sonic Missions - $1.49
Sonic the Hedgehog - Very Hard Shadow Missions - $1.49
Sonic the Hedgehog - Very Hard Silver Missions - $1.49
Valkyria Chronicles - Hard EX Mode - $2.99
Valkyria Chronicles - Edy's Mission - $2.99
Valkyria Chronicles - Selvaria's Mission - $2.99
Gunstar Heroes - $2.99
It brings most of their PSP games below $10 and their PS3 add-ons down below $3, so it's as good a time to get something from Sega as you'll see for now.

There are some possible issues that I noticed, which is that they say it starts on Christmas Eve when there's no update and they list a Football Manager game that I don't think has been released in the US or on PSN, at least.

Edit: They're also having a sale on Virtual Console games on the Wii, which is a new concept for me:

http://blogs.sega.com/usa/2009/12/22/sega-mega-sale-40-off-selected-virtual-console-games/

That means instead of paying the usual 800 Wii Points, you’ll be able to take home some of our most cherished Sega Genesis games for the low low price of 500 Wii Points. Start saving on December 24th, but don’t wait too long – this awesome deal ends January 6th 2010.

Take your pick from Sega’s holiday sample platter – double dipping is highly encouraged:
• Sonic The Hedgehog
• Sonic The Hedgehog 2
• Sonic The Hedgehog 3
• Gunstar Heroes
• Toe Jam & Earl
• Puyo Puyo 2
• Shining Force
• Golden Axe
• Altered Beast
• Streets Of Rage 2
Thanks to Slermy for posting this.

Oh snap
I've been waiting on the Valkyria DLC, but I highly doubt it'll ever get cheaper than this.
I'll also pick up Gunstar at that price. Time to cash in some Sony Rewards points!

Beware on Gunstar Heroes, the online doesn't work and Sega has no plans to fix it last I heard.

Definately going to get the VC DLC, thanks Frisky!

I think only Selvaria's mission (contains 4 missions) is worthed it from the review I've read. Edy's only contains 1 mission. I haven't bought any of it yet though.

Great find Frisky. I only bought one of the VC DLCs the first time around, so now Ill pick up the rest and the Sega Collection will be a great DD pickup.

VC DLC for me.

Only one Sega game on the PS3 side of PSN, that's sort of surprising. I would have thought they released more than that.

Thanks, OP! Now I have to pick up a PSN card for the VC DLC. I've been wanting them, and now get three for less than the price of 2. Sweet!

I'll probably pick-up the Sega Genesis Collection for my PSP-Go; and I was thinking Crazy Taxi as well, but this version apparently isn't that great from what I've been reading. Has anyone played it? Loved the old Crazy Taxi games, but not sure on this one.

From what I gather, Fare Wars is just Crazy Taxi 1 and 2 made portable.

Since it's cheap, would you guys all recommend going for all of the VC dlcs? I don't even have the game yet.

I think the census is that Selvaria mission & Hard EX mode are worth it, Edy's, not so much. But for the price, it's hard to resist.

Alright, thanks. I could add the DLCs to my "backlog" (if a DLC backlog even exists) since I'd want to go through the main story mode first.

I'm not going to bother with the hard mode myself. Just doesn't seem fun to PAY more to make the game harder. I could get a knife, and without spending a dime, chop off some fingers. Also, the edy's mission does seem pretty bland and while playing the side characters has a charm, if they're as pointless as they are most of the time in the main game it doesn't look worthwhile at all.

I'll be getting the selvaria pack though.
Wow...at least they are giving us time to decide what we want. Thanks OP!
That alone makes this deal even sweeter for me.

Yep, it's a good port. If you like Crazy Taxi, $10 is a good deal for the PSP version.

Valkyria Chronicles Edy’s Mission “Enter the Edy Detachment”
Valkyria Chronicles Hard EX Mode
Valkyria Chronicles Selveria’s Mission “Behind Her Blue Flame”
Gunstar Heroes (PS3 only)

I'm looking at these

Thanks for the heads up. I'll probably grab the Selvaria Pack based on Destructoid's review. Don't need a hard mode and the Edy mode seems pretty bland.

This is really the price their PSP stuff should be priced at all the time. Most of it is really, really old, I think the newest is Sega Rally Revo

Also, while it hasn't been released, AFAIK, the ESRB did rate that Football (Soccer) Manager game a while back, but hasn't gotten around to putting it up.

I haven't had any problems with it. The only downside is that you're missing the original soundtracks, but the game supports custom soundtracks so you can always recreate them if you're really missing out on Bad Religion and The Offspring.

I just replaced my UMD with a copy off the PSN yesterday. Does Sony have any sort of price matching in effect? I used a gift card so if they don't I'm not too bummed out, but it'd be nice if they did.

No, but a good rule of thumb is to not buy anything within a day or two of the next update unless it's already on sale to avoid that.

Sega's blog post says the sale starts on the 24th. Do we know for sure the PSN is getting updated on the 22nd? I know the PSN updates early in the week because of Thanksgiving, but the Christmas Eve isn't usually a day where businesses are closed.

I was hoping for an early update this week, but I'd assume Sega would be able promote to correct date of a sale. Then again this is the same company who've ruined concepts as simple as Sonic and NiGHTS.

Normally I do, but I got trigger happy. Ah, well, it's only $5 and it was a free gift card so I won't complain. Glad I waited on Sega Rally Revo and Sega Genesis Collection though.

Definitely gonna get Selvaria and Hard Mode at that price!

Good thing I didn't buy the DLC straight away when I beat the game.

I saw this posted earlier on Sega's Twitter. I'm in for all the Valkyria Chronicles DLC and Gunstar, possibly a PSP game or two, as I'm getting a PSP in a few weeks.

Definitely going to get the Selveria and Edy missions for Valkyria Chronicles. I haven't played the game for a long time, but this will get me to revisit one more time. Might as well buy Gunstar Heroes while I'm at it too. Thanks OP!

Actually, they very quietly fixed it a couple months later. So there is an update when you first boot it up.

Awesome! Will be picking up Sega Rally Revo for sure and possibly Crazy Taxi. These will keep me busy for my trip on the 2nd of the next year.

Ehh, I've had issues with the port (and I wanted to LOVE the game) -- it just doesn't "feel" right at all. I played the DC games to death and something about the PSP's controls/timing/etc are just off to me. I tried really hard to get into the PSP version but something just isn't right.

(it's weird, I can sit down and immediately play well on the DC Crazy Taxis, even if it's been months/years since I played them; but any other version, including the Xbox ones that everyone loved, just don't click right...)

I've been looking for a deal on Crush for AGES, I might have to pick up that one as my first downloadable PSP game...

exactly what i thought. i'll be getting that as well. and its a good excuse to finally finish the game.

Makes perfect sense actually, Crazy Taxi was a NAOMI game in the arcades - and NAOMI was based on the Dreamcast hardware. So if you were a fan of the game in the arcade, the DC version is the closest to it.

I already have Valkyria Chronicles DLC (definitely worth it) but I can't say there's much I want on that list.
