There was a time a few years ago I could get ok deals on games and sell them back to gamestop and get like 35 - 40 dollars on newer games and that would be the only game I would have to trade in. Now you have to trade in like 4-8 games with all these stipulations to get even 30 dollars on new games anymore it seems. Shit, It's easier to make a woman orgasm.

I would never pay that. The last game I *almost* paid full price for was metal gear solid 4, and I was saved by a Fred Meyer 10 dollars off 50 dollars or more coupon that week :D

Usually I would buy a game for 35-40 dollars off someone on Craigslist back in the day to try and flip it rite back to Gamestop for the same price (sometimes a little more). Don't do that anymore since they give such little amounts. Most new games you have to pull fingers to get 25 trade in credit for anymore. I look at lists and see alot of 2-3 dollar trade in's - why bother when gas costs that much. Waste of time.

True the economy is worse, but I think there is going to be a point when all of these other companies are really going to start making Gamestop feel the heat...and no offense to those of who like Gamecrazy (I was guilty of flipping Max Payne 2 from Blockbuster I bought 2 for 20 and getting 32.50 for each one like 8 years ago....) But these days all I find is lazy employees there and understocked new games making me feel like the big bomb (aka going under) is coming sooner rather then later. Last week I picked up Katamari Forever and all they had was one lousy copy come in and that for me. A few weeks ago I wanted Maramusa the Demon Blade and most gamecrazy's in the north sound got zero except for redmond that had gotten a total of 1 lousy copy.

So when will GC update their TIV's on their own? Every GC within 20 miles doesn't take in The Dark Spire. Thats just lame.

as long as they pay 15 for ski doo and 18 for x-blades they can take their time imo
 
Anyone have any idea how much a PSP1000 trades in for? Im trying to get rid of mine as Im uprading to the Go on thursday
 
About 2 weeks ago madworld(wii) was 12 bucks so I wouldn't go off that price just around it.

Um last year they were 60 bucks so I don't any thing worth it. Just don't do it though.

I've traded in a bunch of those and am out of flips. I was able to get a PS3 and now need games to get for it so i'm itching for a new semi decent flip. Di-gata is good and all, but seems like small potatoes.

This works!!!

I went to my GC and told the store manager that she needed to get an updated price file for Space Chimps (NDS) and Dark Spire (NDS). She called tech support and hoila! I got the trades...

Space Chimps (NDS) $13.64
Dark Spire (NDS) $12

Space Chimps trades in for that much!! Thats not bad of a flip. GS has it for 8.99. Wonder where else I can get it for cheap.
 
same thing happened at my GC just like Imcam4.

But it takes at least 30 minutes for them to through to tech support. Then the cashier needs to update the computer/register 20 minutes later. The whole process takes a while.

estebon - why won't they take dark spire? if its because the system reads it as $0, then they're lazy. gc routinely denies trades if they have too much at that particular store.

Stores will have to do a manual update via the tech support method I posted. It was supposed to send out one night and just... didn't. I don't know why. I had to do it for my store, too.

never doubted you. actually, i forgot about your post when i went in today. the gc cashier offered to fix it for it me but warned that it might take a while.

bad experience? I used to hate my GC's because they weren't hwv's and I couldn't get in on the b1g1 a few months back. But I found enough things that I like to appreciate the fact that I have them close around me.

I was wondering the same thing too. Don't stores usually update once a week or once a month? Do they have a set schedule?

These are all DS titles only, right? Seems like it, but I missed the background for these long lists, although it's appreciated to get a list of the GC TIV's.
 
has anyone had any luck price matching a console ad at game crazy...say from Amazon or Frys? I am definitely calling to ask but *most* employees are less informed than the CAG community.

Well, I would say go in either way or call to ask, even if someone here says they can, it may be a manager or regional thing, and may not apply to your own GC. To my knowledge, there is no official policy and I have been honored and shot down before.

Thanks. I also tried calling and they said they don't have any price-match policy. The only matching they would do is for Trade-in's. So a no-go for any new / used game price matching with GC.

Are you insane, that means you're entire PSP library is now useless, the PSP Go will be a huge failure, pick up the PSP 3000 if you need a pointless upgrade.

Or better still a iPod Touch/Phone, Zune HD, at least in that case the games are different and uber cheap.

I only have 3 games from near launch period. I used to never play my psp because carrying it around was a hassle (was too big to fit in my pockets). The Go seems to correct that.
I already have an Ipod Touch.
 
Anyone know what the situation with The Dark Spire is currently? Is the only way to get a TIV to show up is to have them manually update? Or is this something that will be corrected during a typical system update?

IIRC from when I was in the store Saturday, it they had it listed as $35 (that may be with MVP). They had a display listing "Top Trade-ins" & that was one of them.

That seems a tad high-- since you can buy it used for $45 (after MVP), that only works out to a $10 margin for them. But maybe they make up for it in volume, dunno.

According to the Iphone App, it's 30 (base) for both systems 33 with MVP.
