Question about the 30% (for MVP) additional TIV when you purchase AC 2. What happens if I have more TIV than the cost of AC 2?

Just an example, I have and trade in all at one time:
2 PS3 Bigs $16 base
2 PS3 Batman AA $25 base
2 Xbox360 Borderlands $30 base
Total $142 base

Will GC give me $184.60 credit? Then minus the AC 2 cost $60...leaving $124.60 credit balance?

You can trade in as much as you want and get the 30% bonus on all of it. Limit (usually) 2 per title per system. Your example is valid.
 
Also, the iphone app has uncharted with MVP as 27 but the email from yesterday (which was sent specifically for the purpose of trading in towards AC2) shows an MVP TIV of 36. Is it going to take a lot of persuasion to get them to honor this while still adding 30% to the other games I trade in?

How long will the price cut last on the EA Sports Active Bundle, and what is my chance of finding one in stores? I'm visiting my grandparents for Thanksgiving and they have a GameCrazy close by.

Also, what are the chances of picking up Prototype for $15 on Black Friday? Will there be a lot of copies available?

There are a lot of mistakes, but MVP+ is not the MVP Plus program....they mean MVP* like a footnote because if you look at the bottom, there is a "+" and it states MVP members receive 30% more trade credit on any games traded toward purchase of Left 4 Dead 2 or Assassin's Creed 2. Non-MVP members receive 20%. Not valid with any other offers. Valid until 11/22. See store for details.

They made mistakes on the TIV...$20 and $30 games only got a 20% boost while the others got the full 30% boost. It a math mistake.

Also, they state in the footnote "Prices and dates subject to change without notice." so you might get lucky.

Got some weird numbers on Pipe Mania this morning. $9.09 each, traded 2. I asked specifically if it was w/MVP; said it was TIV w/MVP. Doesn't make much sense to me since everyone else seems to be getting $10 w/MVP.

Is the application of MVP automatic or do they have to scan a code?
 
Readthe post is correct. Upon further review the + is for a footnote. Also omeggy if I remember correctly you're a PA guy right? Did you go to the one on fourth street?
 
Off topic rant: I went the closest gamestop to me to pick up pipe mania. Upon not finding it on the shelf, I ask the clerk if it is in stock. He checks the computer and it is in stock. He turns around, finds it in a jewel case, and says it doesn't come with a box. Since when has anything without an original box or manual been considered new? If any other electronic came in this state it would either be considered used, display, or open box special.

I have accepted the gamestop new as "this is the last copy", but this takes it to another level. If they are still selling it with the box and manual, you can somehow justify that is new because no one ever played it. But if you are selling something missing the bulk of what it is supposed to come with. What is next? Selling game manuals with missing front covers and saying "it is fine, no read it yet and there is no needed information on the cover anyways."

I was given a quote of $9.09 before MVP. It becomes $10 after MVP.

On a related note, the guy at the GC I traded in noticed something was up with Pipe Mania. He asked if it there was a deal on it somewhere because people have been trading in many copies of it. He, like Scorch, said to trade it in ASAP because the company is surely going to fix the TIV soon.

TIV for :ps3:Bigs 2 is also $16 credit, $17.60 with MVP.

My GC didn't accept Space Chimps (DS) since it had a TiV of $0.00 in their system. I'll try another GC to see if they take it. They took Pipe Mania for $9.09 store credit, though. =D

No kidding! I had the manager of the GC that I usually go to ask me what was up with it too. He asked me if it was new, because he's suddenly been getting a bunch of copies in.

You must have missed my post. They don't accept it any more. o_O; I'd say Pipe Mania is going to have a similar case, too. But like other people have stated, Hollywood Video might still take it. I would try there.

EA Active went back up in price a week ago or so. I posted about it in the sale thread that was posted last week.

EA Sports Active, Metroid Prime Trilogy and Super Smash Brothers Brawl all went back up in price a week ago. Riddick, Prototype, Punch Out and Resident Evil are still on sale. I think Riddick is more of a drop than a sale, though.

In all honesty, though, CAGs know more about deals going on at stores than managers do, most of the time. XD

Exactly my point! Although Scorch is the exception....or is he? He's a CAG, so he knows all the deals, so I guess he's exempt.

In all honesty though, I used to work at GC and I had a good store manager. Even if a new deal hit on a weekend, he would call up to the store to make sure we read the intranet to push the new deal.

Doesn't this make Sears, Target, Best Buy and so many other retailers just as bad. CAG knows more about game deals at just about every retailer than the employees. I don't think this is an exclusively GC problem.
