That's right. Star Wars: Force Unleashed is $15, too, for anyone maybe trying to find a second game for the B1G1. And if you want to wait until tomorrow, Prince of Persia will be $15 until Monday- just long enough to qualify for the B1G1. :D
 
Something somewhat interesting. I stopped by my local HWV to return some movies for my dad & noticed a sign that said '80% off - all sales final.' So I asked if they were closing down but they told me it was just leftover stuff from the GC that closed there a few weeks ago. Weird that they didn't ship it to other stores. I didn't get a chance to look thru it, but I know I'll be back by.
 
I went to gamecrazy this morning around 11, and there was a line of soccer moms there...it pissed me off, as I have never see more than 3 people in a gamecrazy ever. They had one dude working, wtf!

Of course they sold out of smash brothers like three people before me, but luckily a lady was nice enogh to let me have her ad, so I went to walmart and pricematched, whoopee!

This morning was hell - by myself, line out the door and around the building.. 45 people strong at least. Sold out of pretty much everything except Bionic Commando. If you guys didn't go today, there's not going to be shit left for tomorrow. We moved over 200 games and got rid of ALL of our used systems except a few PS3's and old DS's. Good god. I did manage to grab Infinite Undiscovery for myself, though.

Again, this is such a stupid question. The availability of used games solely depends on your local store and the customers that come in. Regardless of what one store has, it doesn't mean all stores have it. Used product is product that people trade in.. so whether or not my store has used copies of Left 4 Dead 2, Assassin's Creed 2, and GTA: Episodes from Liberty City (editor's note: it does :whee:), your store's availability largely depends on the customers that come in.

And if you want to wait until tomorrow, Prince of Persia will be $15 until Monday- just long enough to qualify for the B1G1.

And yet again, the B1G1 clearly states that games that are on sale this weekend DO NOT APPLY towards the B1G1. I know it says "Thurs-Fri" promos, but Prince of Persia will not be applying for this sale.

All my local GCs are dead, only the ones in the city are open still. Heading out to visit my bud tomorrow, hopefully they'll have something left.
 
Wasn't able to get prototype PS3 for the doorbuster price. Was told it was only 360 - which does appear to match the ad. No big deal, but I wanted to report that for those that may be interested.

Also, I went to GS first, it was absolutely mobbed. I then went to a GC that is about 5 minutes away. I was one of six people in the store. I just don't get it. I really like GC, I don't understand why GS has so much more foot traffic.
 
Picked up :ps3: Prince of Persia Limited Edition (Used some credit I had). It's really all I wanted as I got Borderlands prior to today with credit too. Along with having already played the majority of what was on the $19 and under bubble.

Does this answer your question? GC is consistently OOS on the high-demand games, so as a consumer you don't waste your time by going there regularly. Then when they do have the "only" store open on Thanksgiving Day, they only have 1 person working... WTF!!!

I stopped by my GC yesterday before going to the airport. I stood in line for an hour, but had to leave because of my flight. I left empty-handed, i.e. no sales for GC. There were many others that showed up, but saw the long, slow line and left as well. Maybe they returned, maybe they didn't... but there are TOO MANY retail choices for the consumer's dollar. Why waste time going to a store that doesn't have enough product, won't reveal their selling prices and offer long slow lines during the BIGGEST sales event of the year.

The ONLY REASON I shop there is because Scorch keeps this thread updated with the sale prices (thanks, Scorch.. :applause:). If he didn't, I'm pretty sure Gamestop or Best Buy or Gamefly or Toys R Us or Wal-Mart or Amazon or Newegg or Kmart or Sears or Target or etc., would have gotten the thousands of dollars I spent there this year.

Was the 5am opening today nationwide? I took a look at my local GC this morning on my way back from Walmart and it was closed with no cars in the parking lot.

The one I go to opened at 6:15.

Anyways, I went to GC, picked up a few games, finished off my credit, blah, blah. Here is my rant about gamecrazy. I go in around 6:30, there is a small line, about 6 people. A few people in front of me ask the cashier for an Xbox 360 Elite. "Sorry, we are all out." How can you not have any 360 Elites on Black Friday. And then they wonder why there are going out of business.

Don't think so... I'm in Chicago visiting family. The local GC was closed when I passed by at 7:30am.

I'm so glad I decided not to try to hit up brick and morter store doorbusters this year. My wife on the other hand tried to grab me a copy of Prototype at GameCrazy. She got there before 5 and the doors were already open with a line to the counter. She still stood in line for 20 minutes just to watch the kid right in front of her buy the last three copies of Prototype.

She's pissed to say the least.

That's something I never understood. Why in the world do people go in and buy multiple copies of a game or get multiples of something. I mean I understand you may be getting some as gifts but most of the time I think people do it so they can resell it at a profit. My thinking is that you should think of others besides yourself. If you actually need 3 games as gifts fine but if your getting them for selfish reasons then boo to you.

All well, I'll live as I bought a ton of games and movies online yesterday on the cheap. But things like that are why I don't personaly do Black Friday anymore. After a really, and I mean really bad BF morning a few years ago I gave up on it. I've enjoyed sleeping in ever since.

It's more disapointment then rewarding if you leave the house at 3am the day after Thanksgiving. Between rabid customers, insane parking, overworked and irritated employees and the chance to actually get what you want it's just not worth it.

The 30% promo does NOT stack with MVP, unfortunately.

My story was the opposite, though. I traded a game in yesterday morning, and ONLY got the MVP, not the 30%. Glad I checked my receipt, but then the clerk made me wait until he finished checking out another guy's huge order before he went and manually corrected it.

They don't accept that game anymore, I called them when I was buying Ski Doo for PS3 and they told me the same thing. :/
 
Went there and almost all the games were cleaned out.

I did get a few good games though, none of which were part of the sale:

Opoona Wii $5

Unfortunate that I missed out on this sale.
 
I went to two GC this morning.. First one apparently was closed permanently but had a sign to go to another one.

I got there, waited in line for about 10 minutes and asked for a prototype 360. Got it, left the store and checked the case (it was a "new" opened game)... NO DISC. Lucky for me since I had also left the receipt in the store (it was early). I went right back and got a sealed one. Wish I would have thought to grab a second one as a birthday gift for my buddy but oh well. Glad I ended up with a sealed one.

When I went yesterday the guy had problems finding it, he did eventually, I can't remember the exact number though. It was in the $1.33 to $1.50 range.

I have not been keeping up with this thread and didn't even know it was on sale, but they had a huge pile of them at my GC at 6pm Friday. Scorch, any idea by how much the company overbought this particular title? :lol:. It was one of the ones that most regular HWV stores had multiples of too, then sold them for $10 plus additional $5 off a few weeks back. By the way, it rang up $4.90 for me - that seemed odd.

So, I'm sure this is ancient news here, but I didn't see it: Pipe Mania is now $2. I found that out right after I bought one at a Gamestop tonight - d'oh! No huge deal, I can return it for my $1.99 back, though that will be somewhat embarassing. I've been so swamped with Amazon and the HWV $4.99 sale that I have not kept pace with GC. But the problem is I found so many games at HWV that I ran out of credit and had to resort to cash (gasp!). So I wanted to get a bit more and while I was at GS I saw that. Oh well...

Yeah, no stacking. I thought Scorch said they did stack now? That kind of sucks, because I would have brought NSMB to GS if I had known that. Anyway, I did get the following Friday:

Rock Revolution PS3: base: $4, MVP: $4.40, 30%: $5.20
NSMB DS: base: $15.50, MVP: $17.05, 30%: $20.15 (meanwhile at GS this would get $22.50 with the 40% bonus PLUS Edge)

Now, that is one that I should trade to GC instead of GS. $18 base means $23.40 after 30% bonus. At GS the base is only $13.75 if the latest CAG quote is right (and it is a bit out of date - I suppose it could have gone up though). That would mean $20.62 with bonus + Edge.

Then, of course, there is Amazon trade-ins to consider ;). One example of a better deal there is Velvet Assassin. They give $11.50 for it while GS gives $7 and GC gives $6.

Is GameCrazy rejecting trades now? I was turned down on a Mortal Kombat because the guy said "I can't take this in, it's too beat up". It really wasn't that beat up, either. Not that big of a deal, as I didn't pay much for it. It's only a minor bummer.

Fallout 3 is on sale at best buy through sunday for $19.99. If your local store doesn't have it, try to order from the website.

If I get my credit on a gift card, can I then use it to buy games from HWV?
