Just got my Wii back. Checking it out right now to see what Nintendo did/didn't save.
They sent me a replacement Wii. The Wii I sent in had an LU30... serial number, they sent one back that has a serial number starting with LU61. I sent it in with System Menu 4.1 and got one back with System Menu 4.0.
They backed up almost all of my save data... the only big one that seems to be missing is my Brawl save, but I'm glad my other saves are still there, including saves for four wifi enabled games.
They saved all of my Wii Message Board messages and pictures, but they didn't save my Address Book or my Miis. So 7 pages of my address book are all gone, and there are no Miis in my Plaza or Parade (had over 600 of them). I'm so glad I backed up my Miis to another Wii before sending it in, but now I won't be able to edit them once I put them all back.
I still seem to have Photo Channel 1.0 despite my replacement Wii being relatively new. I was expecting it to come with Photo Channel 1.1, so that's kind of a nice surprise since I didn't want the new Photo Channel.
I'll have to reload all of my channels on it since the only ones there right now are the default ones.
It's not so bad considering that I could have lost everything, but I wish they had taken a little more time with it and not done a half assed job of transferring my settings over to the new Wii. At least I didn't have to pay for the replacement.
