Sent Wii in for repair - LOST EVERYTHING.

Just got my Wii back. Checking it out right now to see what Nintendo did/didn't save.

They sent me a replacement Wii. The Wii I sent in had an LU30... serial number, they sent one back that has a serial number starting with LU61. I sent it in with System Menu 4.1 and got one back with System Menu 4.0.

They backed up almost all of my save data... the only big one that seems to be missing is my Brawl save, but I'm glad my other saves are still there, including saves for four wifi enabled games.

They saved all of my Wii Message Board messages and pictures, but they didn't save my Address Book or my Miis. So 7 pages of my address book are all gone, and there are no Miis in my Plaza or Parade (had over 600 of them). I'm so glad I backed up my Miis to another Wii before sending it in, but now I won't be able to edit them once I put them all back.

I still seem to have Photo Channel 1.0 despite my replacement Wii being relatively new. I was expecting it to come with Photo Channel 1.1, so that's kind of a nice surprise since I didn't want the new Photo Channel.

I'll have to reload all of my channels on it since the only ones there right now are the default ones.

It's not so bad considering that I could have lost everything, but I wish they had taken a little more time with it and not done a half assed job of transferring my settings over to the new Wii. At least I didn't have to pay for the replacement.

So your AC save was fine? I haven't had any problems with my Wii since purchasing it 6 and 1/2 months ago, but I'm still worried about what could happen. I would be very disappointed if I lost all that work on AC.

My AC save loads fine and my town, animals, items, etc. are still there, but when I try to connect to WFC I get error code 60000. Apparently, the only way of getting rid of that particular error is to delete my AC save and start over. :bomb:

I guess you can't use a save's wifi settings from one Wii on a different Wii - which is probably the reason why they don't let you transfer wifi enabled saves to SD in the first place.

I wonder if my other 3 wifi enabled saves will get the same error if I try to go online with them. I only have 1 of the 3 games to try since one game was my friend's and I don't have GHIII anymore.

I finally did the homebrew channel to be able to back up my saves and I'm mad that I didn't check this stuff out earlier. There's so much you can do and I love the fact that you can download homebrew programs on your wii using it's wifi without the need of a computer.
