Server Move: Intermittent outages/problems over the next few days

Guys if you see an issue PM me directly and I will take a peek. Seems like the issues now are simply optimization problems.

If apache goes wacky I can easily restart the service.

Yep, I'm getting these same problems occasionally. Seems to always happen when I try to open rather large threads. I eventually give up, read a couple other threads, and then come back a few minutes later and they open right up.

Just a quick heads up. You may not care but I think it could be a legitiamate thing to look into more. As you know work places everywhere block the word "ass" of course and any variation of the word "game". I have been able to by pass these words by using CheapyD.com. Since the new server though it seems that my work has now blocked Cheapyd.com and has the company message of the word "games" filtered. It may be due to how cheapyd.com is linked to cheapassgamer since it was never like that till the new server came. Maybe there is a way to get around this for the purpose of working CAGs. I know a few of my friends have had the same problems with CAG from their respective works and know it isn't an isolated case. It may not be your top priority but I'm sure there is a very high percentage of CAGs that will be lost from 9-5, not to mention revenue for you from the links.

I didn't say that. I was simply questioning your assertion that "very high percentage of CAGs that will be lost." That's exaggerating a bit.

Same things with occasional searching. Resolves upon waiting 15 seconds and refreshing.
 
It's weird cuz my server is being nailed too. I think google is finally doing it's updates for links and such. If you are into SEO you will know about Jagger part 3.
 
Every now and then when I'm at my subscribed threads, and I click the "read last post" icon, I get "This page can not be displayed". Then it'll keep doing that for a couple minutes, but the forum won't be down. I'll still be able to go to the first post, but not the last post. There doesn't seem to be any rhyme or reason to it.

When was the last time that happenend?
 
I think it's time to boot Apache again because we're getting:

1) Intermittant population of av pictures.
2) Intermittant refreshing of pages after posts.
3) Intermittant refreshing of pages after PM's.
4) Intermittant refreshing of pages after going to last post in a thread.

I'm getting this a lot:

All of the subgroups on the front page are loading the same block of topics (presumably from the VGD subgroup).

Is repeated under each subgroup. Also, a lot of the time I'll refresh and there'll be nothing at all under the subgroups.

Dunno if it's a problem or anything, just reporting.
 
We added some compression stuff to server and so far it's not working out. Hopefully this will all get sorted out in the next couple days.
 
Been having trouble getting CAG to show up at all, 90% of the time i try to load the site it can't find it. Also to find my posts and the posts after it in threads or to just get threads to show up on the forums it takes about 7 clicks to the refresh button.
 
I don't know what's happened in the past day or two, but the same problems that happened a few months ago, when submitting/editting posts, PMs, and such, clicking on view last post, and such it doesn't go to the normal page, but just goes to a page cannot be displayed error page while still submitting it.
 
I seem to be having some problems as well. For a lot of avatars, instead of seeing the picture, I see "X's avatar." When clicking on the last post for a thread, I'll have to reload a bunch of times to get it to load.
